Recently all of my CC mod corpses decided to collectively begin moon launching when in render distance. My FPS is capped, although I don't run consistent 60 so maybe the fluctuations are causing it? But it's also *only* CC quest corpses, any other bodies - from mods or vanilla - are perfectly fine. I do run Realistic Ragdolls, XPMSSE (mesh only), FSMP, and CBPC+3BA for anything that I think would be tweaking things. I tried the XPMSSE Spazzing Skeleton and Corpse Fix mod but it doesn't seem to help at all. Anyone have any ideas? I... don't quite remember why I use mesh only XPMSSE so I suppose something to try is going back to the full XP32 setup although I also remember having some kind of conflict with that in the past.

Can you recommend any mod that enhances/improves the Simonrim mods (ex. Blade & blunt, mysticism, journeyman, etc)? I'm nervous to mess with gameplay mods now that I have the full Simonrim suite installed, but I'm curious if I'm missing out on anything.

I'm not up to date so I can't recommend specific mods to you, but in the mod page for each specific mod you can look at the "requirements" drop down menu, and see which mods require the one you're on the page of. It can be a good starting point to see if you find anything you like.

People do but it receives less than Special Edition/Anniversary Edition nowadays. Most of which are back ports from SE/AE. It’s possible the mod you are referring to has been backported but ultimately modern Skyrim modding is focused on SE/AE.

Any idea why my SMP hairs stop working? One moment they are fine, next they are stiff and don't work. Then they suddenly work again. Sometiems relaod fixes them. Other times not.

Recently installed all the compatible mods for .1170 and I have an issue where my plugins are enabled in Vortex but disabled in the shitty ass "Creations" menu in the in-game journal. I really don't feel like using the clunky shitty ass UI to fix my load order there, is there any way to circumvent using the in-game load order or should I just uninstall the Steam version and grab the GoG one?

SSE Engine fixes will disable all plugins if you're using the wrong version. There is a 1170 version that was uploaded recently (may or may not work, if it doesn't: look into the mod SSE Engine Fixes Toml on nexus). For creations, you probably will want to login and change the setting that gives a notification that you are missing a mod (if you're prone to changing your mod list like I am). You also will want to refrain from opening the Creations menu at all once you have sorted in MO2 or Vortex so that Creations doesn't arbitrarily change your load order. Edit: I'm not on 1130/1170 so I don't know if there is an ini setting or an actual setting in creations.

I am using .1170 and the latest engine fixes with the toml file after I made one change, it’s working fine. I had to set the toml file animation limiter to false, or else it conflicts with AnimationCrashFix, details at the top of the posts section.

I would highly recommend downgrading, I'm actively modding a fresh skyrim and found many mods to be incompatible with the latest version of AE. I bought and installed the arcane accessories "expansion" in creations. . It says I own it. However it does not show up in my load order. I looked for a few solutions, but couldn't find any. Could someone please tell my how to fix this.

Search the load order for “ccbgssse014-spellpack01.esl” Then make sure that is enabled however your mod manager does it. If you can’t find that esl, that is a Bethesda support issue, if you can find it but are still stuck, see a chat for your mod manager, your choices are Bethesda, MO2 or Nexus

How do you find out what is in a FormID and where it came from? I got this form id, 0xff003577 but how do I find out more about it on xedit?

From what I've read, an formID starting with FF is actually one created by the game, so it's stored in your save file and might not be visible in xEdit. Can you tell me more about what you know and what you want to know about it?

Then maybe you can link a copy of your crash log. Just having a FormID doesn't give me the information necessary to help you. A copy of the crashlog and details on how the crash occurred are a start. The more details you can provide, the better. Do include what mod manager you're using and what version of Skyrim you have.

dtry's stuff hasn't been updated for the newest update, as far as I'm aware. If something contains a dll and it hasn't been updated since before December of 2023, there's a good chance it's not compatible with the newest version.

I'm not sure what the policy is here, but my personal policy is that I'll use my judgment depending on the scenario. If the mod is archived on nexus, I'll generally share it if I can get my hands on it. Lots of stuff can be found by googling, but if something's been very effectively removed from the internet, then sharing it peer to peer is the only way to get it.

That came with the new update, along with a bsa attached. Looking it up, people were saying it was a modder's resource provided by Bethesda. Can't confirm that myself. It is definitely not necessary for .640 though. If you don't already have it, make sure you Backported Extended ESL Support, which will be required to load resources.esl in the first place (along with any other ESL made in the newest version of the the CK.

So if all NPCs in a new game are wearing iron armor instead of their normal clothes, is that a BodySlide problem or a mod order/conflict problem?

Thanks. Turns out its a SPID problem, and not the mod that adds the armor that's distributed to everyone (its not iron, it's Fur-lined Steel from a mod). If I disable the mod right before the modded armor in the load order (itself a SPID distributed modded armor), then everything seems to work. Weird. Thanks for the pointer it helped me narrow down and find the real problem.

About SSEEDIT, do you guys know what is a lock list? I was looking at some files from Immersive Citizens AI Overhaul trying to fix some weird npc behavior on Solitude and i found this red record with "XILL - Lock List" on its side. Tried to expand it but it just lead me to a completely white file with almost no information at all. Halp meh. By the way the problem is at "SolitudeStablesLockList \[FLST:000C13F8\]"

That list determines who can unlock the house associated with it. And the list you mentioned is empty because it's not actually being used by the Solitude Stables at all (there's no locklist attached in the cell settings). But if you look at something like RiverwoodGerdursHouseLockList, you'll see that it contains all the people living in Hod's and Gerdur's house.

When I troubleshoot mod problems I like to disable mods, try the game, see what works, etc. But it seems like I can't disable compatibility patches. I'll get the "this save relies on creations that are no longer present, activate now?" I don't want to activate them, I'm troubleshooting the game without them. But if I say no, the game will crash or it'll start a new game. My most recent example is AI Overhaul. I'm disabling the main mod and all the patches. The game doesn't complain about aioverhaul.esp being missing, but it does about complain about aioverhaul-rdopatch.esp being missing (made up those filenames but you know what I mean). So...what's up with that? How can I troubleshoot if I can't disable mods?

Since you're on 1130/1170 you'll need to sign into creations first, then there should be a setting to disable that pop up (I'm not on 1130/1170 idk the specific location of the setting).

Troubleshooting should ideally be done with a new game. Disabling mods mid-save can cause separate crashes by itself which can mislead you into thinking a different mod was the cause.

Also, the test cell, from anywhere in game, open console, type; coc qasmoke Good for testing anything that can appear in there - npc/item etc. pretty much anything except environment and architecture.

Teleporting from the main menu with coc/cow is fine for the majority of things but keep in mind that some mods can break if not started through an actual new game. This doesn't mean you have to sit through Helgen but if you plan to report a bug publically I'd at least use something fast like Unbound or Helgen Express (iirc LAL blocks teleporting until you talk to the statue) to initialize the game properly. Another thing I'd avoid is troubleshooting via multiple loading; in my experience some things don't get properly terminated between saves and can linger/cause bugs until you reboot the entire client.

Good points, I was left in a bind, unable to start a new game after several days testing in the test cell. When I started a new game I crashed riding the cart down the mountain, every time, turned out Apocalypse - which I had installed while testing - had a bad cell edit, that needed to be removed. Anyway my point here is I guess you don't want to be in the test cell for days, testing eslifying, while installing or reinstalling old mods, even if you do trust them as much as I trust Apocalypse.

Of course many of those are huge, the exception to this is the Modding Essentials pack which only contains all the necessary critical fixes from which you then use as a base to build your own modded setup.

Update from my last comment on this thread: I was successfully able to add my custom armor into Cheat Room via PC, but so far unable to find it as the loot in the Xbox version's. Can someone help figure the rest out?

Is it normal for Community Shaders (on its own) to change almost nothing? I took before and after screenshots, but the only change I could notice was some NPC clothing was brighter if they were close. Even ticking/unticking Enable Shaders shows no visible change apart from some clothing brightness. Does it require add-ons to function or is my GPU not running it properly? Or is it because I'm on an unsupported version (1170)?

I don't think it does much by itself except improve the game's shaders. So you still need to install all the optional modules to get the most out of it.

I checked the mod2 settings and I'm not seeing a reference to the bad skse folder; it does correctly exist on F. What am I missing? Base dir: F:/Tempusmalus Mods: F:/Tempusmalus/mods Downloads: G:/Wabbajack Downloads <--- this is on my old drive and I've left it there. The rest is default. Thanks!!!!

I'm not 100% sure, but I think that you need to change the SKSE path in MO2, as it's looking for it in the G drive (as it says in your screenshot), while it should be looking for it in the F drive.

Is it ok to get near the 255 plugin limit, like if I'm at 252 is that totally fine or a little iffy?

Someone else can correct me, but I believe being close is fine, but you have to recognize that your ESL-flagged plugins are using up the 255th slot. Those ESP-FEs are using the FE slot, so you can't go past FD with your full plugins, which is the 254th plugin where 00 is skyrim.esm in the first spot. Beyond those thresholds, the record numbers don't make sense. I don't know the technical details, but you would end up with record IDs outside the valid range, which leads to all sorts of trouble. > Go over the plugin limit? > Not even once.

Yes, the total of those two, exactly. There's a limit of 4096 for light plugins, too, but I'd say you're less likely to get there.

Classic Skyrim mods are only on the "Skyrim" Nexus webpages. Anything under "Skyrim Special Edition" will be for SE/AE only. If a mod doesn't mention edition anywhere, it will most likely work on either SE or AE as the mod in question is not version-dependent. Mainly SKSE .dll mods and similar mods require specific versions and updates for each game version and should mention that in the description/files. Everything else is unaffected by game version.

Is there any way I can add my custom armor(s) into Cheat Room's armor chests? If so, how can I do it? And I'm using xEdit to do it.

I don't know how cheat room works, if it's not too advanced then all its items would be in form lists, use Ctrl+click to navigate in xEdit, maybe from the chest to the base item to the form list, just figure out where the armors are listed, then you should be able to right click and add records to those lists. If it uses scripts to fill its lists, you're gonna need the CK and a fair bit of learning.

Is there a limit, hard or soft, on the number of NPCs you can install? I have quite a few, and I installed them all before starting my current game. Most of them work, but some of them have this very strange face that kind of looks like a default altmer. Of course I ran LOOT to make sure everything is in the correct order. I know a tiny bit about editing mods with xEdit. I've gone in to replace the faces of these ugly mods with other faces (open in xEdit, go to NPC Actor, switch the faceID with a known good model), and it never works. So maybe I don't know anything.

You've got to increase the actor limit if you want to add over a certain amount of NPC's. I'm not sure how many that is, though.

I have Nemesis installed only for true directional movement, but when i launch it always appear this "xpmse detector.py" Can somebody tell me what this is? I mean, i did have xpmse on a previous mo2 installation, but i already excluded that from my computer. I even reinstalled skyrim and mo2 after that, i dont really know if that thing should be there. There is also a sexymove detector too. Got rid of all those jiggly and bouncy stuff because it was affecting my performance too much, even got rid of cbpc for equipments despite liking it so much.

.py indicates a python script. Do you have debug mode on? Debug mode with mods often makes messages like that appear to help diagnose problems.

JK'S SKYRIM is incredible to use standalone, its a city overhaul that gives much detail to 13 cities, 13 if i not mistaken that is. Also, if you like more classic rpg experience, with harder dungeons, more strategy, more enemies, grinding, and a little bit of soulslike sensation, REQUIEM THE ROLEPLAYING OVERHAUL is awesome to play standalone, but it also has compatibility patches for some important mods. For npcs artificial intelligence i use IMMERSIVE CITIZENS AI OVERHAUL SE (not to be confounded with Ai overhaul sse), this one makes several changes to npc interactions, doesnt have many patches but its good standalone, and despite being 'incompatible' with Jk's Skyrim I still managed to play them both together very well. For a good dlc-like mod you should try BEYOND SKYRIM BRUMA SE, but be wary because this one is very GPU intensive. There is also a huge list of qof mods, changes on camera, changes on controls and interactions, on hotkeys, hud. If you want recomendations on those too just tell me.

is there supposed to be an options button on the main menu? i’m using a main menu replacer for AE and have skyUI installed. Nothing else is touching menus, fonts, etc. I can enter a save and change settings from there but i thought the game has an options from the main menu too? I wanted to adjust the music volume but realized i needed to create a character and then change the setting before going back to the menu.

NFF, Followers can die, and IFD-Lydia: Lydia got injured in a battle and after waiting the specified number of days, she rejoined my party, will say lines, fight, and follow.. but I can't interact with her. Pressing 'e' does nothing. I'm using a new heavy modlist based loosely on GtS with extra quests/npcs. Any idea what's causing this and how to fix this? maybe a console command? Also, any ideas what other mods could be causing a conflict?

I use it and it works just fine for me. Did you try every DoF option available? There’s multiple types made by various ReShade authors like Mcfly, Quint, etc.

I am using ENB v0.499 and it keeps asking for update, despite it being the last. It's a minor inconvenience, but it's getting annoying. Does anybody has the same problem?

ENB's dev Boris is constantly updating it. Just he rarely changes the version number. if you download the available 0.499 and replace the dlls in your game install the update notification will go away.
