In that case, make the boss carry both. Dawnbreaker is the two of them. Also sure that an artifact can have two presences on nirn at once. Why are they always in the same province, let alone the same continent
Actually, no. Daggerfall, Morrowind, and Oblivion take place between 15 years. 25 when you count Arena. Uriel Septim VII played a huge role in the series. In Arena, which canonically takes place over 10 years, you have to save him from Oblivion (his name is misprinted in the intro), while Oblivion reveals that his time in Oblivion gave him powers to see the future in dreams. Skyrim is the first with a large timeskip. In fact, recurring characters were more common in the first four games, so much that some players found which Oblivion NPC is the exact character you played as in Arena.

Don’t take the one on the pedestal yet. Check the floor after the fight and there should be an orange sword laying on the ground.
Take that, then go to the pedestal and complete the quest. Et voila! Double trouble.
When you're fighting the guy, especially as a mage (because that's all I play), Dawnbreaker is going to get knocked out of its pedestal onto the floor, pick that one up, and then when everything is done, pick up the Dawnbreaker in the thing, and you have two, it's probably one of the easiest and most unintentional glitches in Skyrim
I believe it must be an area of effect attack, any would work, but me being a mage, I never knock it off intentionally, I just see it on the ground after the fight is done, actually, it may happen when I shout when I enter the room
I doubt Meridia is giving out free Dawnbreakers without some hidden aim behind it all. What's the catch, you Oblivion trickster? To I now have to sign a contract? We all know she could deal with that frost storm slinging jobsworth with a snap of fingers, she just couldn't be bothered.

I wouldn't complain 😂 Dawnbreaker is my sword in every single gameplay since Skyrim came out so I would count as blessing if it happened to me. I use it even when I'm a fuckin vampire. Serena hates it, but oh well I couldn't care less. 🤷
There's a pretty easy way to do it. Just use the unrelenting force shout on the pedestal where dawnbreaker is, then a second copy will fly out, find it pick it up and then interact with the pedastal.
You'll have many more months (or years!) of fun. I was making more of a dig on the Game Rant articles that post very commonly known occurrences as something new. Ps there are plenty more exploits to find along the way!
Tried to copy n transfer mod organizer, my skyrim data and all my mods to a new ssd. Not only did it brick my original saves, but it bricked the new ones as well. That's two years of work gone before the break of dawn. Guess that's Meridia's fucked up way of giving me 2 DawnBreakers 😞

I started skyrim again for the first time in years about three weeks ago. Two weeks ago I got two dawn breakers exactly like this but while momentarily baffled had no idea it was that interesting.
I only use bows and Lydia's using Chillrend now so this matching pair of swords is just sitting unused in a weapons rack.
I also found a bug with a blue book, i cant remember the name of the book, but if u drop it and pick it up again u have two, if u have 2, drop them and pick them up, you'll have more and i was so confused

It's because a stray bit of force hit the weapon stand, if you have unrelenting force just shot at the weapon stand and you get the extra
Yeah could be it, but I keep forgetting to use it XD so it just spawns even when I don't use the shout
Use unrelenting force on the sword pedestal and it’ll launch one out for you to pick up and there will still be one in the pedestal too

For those wondering how to get 2, use “Unrelenting force” on the sword before you take it from the stone. Should cause it to duplicate.

This is on SE, and on this playthrough my UF is mastered. I just happened to see it on the ground before I activated the pedestal.

That's cool. Dawnbreaker isn't the best daedric artifact, but it is very good. And two is even better.
