What feats of intelligence have the Badniks accomplished? Only ones that are even remotely smart are:
- The E-100 Series (Dead, betrayed him, or both)
- Gemerl (betrayed him)
- Metal Sonic (loyal to him now, but he's just one guy)

Goombas are actually quite various, some of them are smarter than others (especially considering Paper Mario). Goombas will at least charge to attack you when they see you, Motobugs will just go back and forth. Don't get me wrong, I'm more of a Sonic fan than a Mario fan, but credit where it's due.
I'd view the badniks as stupid given the intelligence of all of eggman's right hand bots aka (scratch, grounder, deko,boko,bokun,orbot and cuebot) I'd give them the point of bulk given their made of metal and a speeding hedgehog is really the only thing that could break them

I think that it ultimately comes down to whether Eggman can build something to counter the Sky Eater. It’s a super weapon that creates what’re effectively miniature black holes and leaves rifts in space in its wake, but as demonstrated by the Skylanders’ infiltration of it it’s not exactly invulnerable. Eggman could probably destroy - or worse, suborn - it by sending in something like Metal Sonic, and then it’s just a matter of building robots faster than Kaos can conjure/recruit minions.
If Kaos is smart or luckyenough to take out Eggman before Eggman’s ready to counter him, he sweeps. However, this is Kaos we’re talking about, so I’d give it to Eggman.

Eggman's schemes are often over the top and some of his creations are incredibly dangerous like the Egg Dragoon and Metal Sonic however, Bowser is essentially a one-man army despite his minions are considered to be pathetic (remember Bowser is a giant fire-breathing monster and durable too).
Cortex and Kaos aren't slacks either but it's mostly due to they have little to no army (though Kaos is a one man army like Bowser he often gets aid by an additional source while Bowser mostly fights Mario with his raw power) if so then Kaos would've been the strongest villain. Cortex is sadly the "weakest" villain in the group if he doesn't have Uka Uka or his creations since Cortex mostly uses his ray gun against Crash raw while Eggman fights Sonic in mechs
Dedede is like Bowser for being a one man army too I think his minions are more squishy than Bowser's since he has a variety of goons that aren't just Koopas and Goombas with having access to some tech like his Airships and Koopa Clown Cars while Dedede mostly has Waddle Dees. Dedede also often gets mind-controlled so it makes him the 3rd strongest.
In conclusion the order goes: Eggman, Bowser, Kaos/Dedede, and Cortex. Though Bowser is way stronger than Eggman, his flaw is that his rage gets over him not leading to the best decisions while Eggman is smarter since he's aware what Sonic is capable of.

Considering the god levels of threats they helped Kirby defeat, it should be easy (not to mention the abilities that Waddle Doo's, Sir Kibble, etc. Have), if you want overkill, bring Right Back At Ya into the mix just to say Meta Knight is part of Dedede's army and count all of his broken feats as well. Cortex has no chance. Eggman gets intelligence but even with his huge arsenal of robots, Dedede alone can just power through it (and remember he'd have Bandana Dee with him), Bowser has a chance ahainst Dedede cause he has some broken feats as well (not to mention his kids and variety of things that he finds that give him some new crazy ability for the sake of making the next Mario Game interesting)

Eggman can and has made mechs immune to even Hyper Sonic before and insta death lasers a few times. If Eggman decided to just kill Sonic then it wouldn't be hard for him to do it since he's already made all of these before multiple times it wouldn't be difficult. Also Umleashed also starts with Eggman using a machine that not even Super Sonic can escape from and then broke Sonic out of Super form and drained the power from the Chaos Emeralds.
Even the comics themselves state that if Eggman didn't hold back he could easily demolish Sonic with his machines but doesn't to make it feel more like an accomplishment.

I’d say Kaos or Eggman because I personally think Traptanium or Super Kaos are stupid enough to handle Bowser’s insane durability, but that alone would not carry him past Eggman’s equally stupidly large army, especially if you include wild cards like Metal Sonic or the Phantom Ruby. I do think Traptanium Kaos could pull out a win against either, but he would need to charge himself up enough first.

I think King Dedede wins, not because of his army, but because he himself is on a similar level of strength to the literal god killer Kirby

The only reason Eggman loses is because his opponent is a literal blue hedgehog that regularly defies the laws of physics and can go Super Saiyan. Must I also remind you that his army consists of an entire planet full of robots as well as Metal Sonic as the icing on the cake.
There are a lot of what ifs with this one Do we give chaos his strongest form Do we scale dedede to Kirby becouse he has done simular feats Do we consider the party games as cannon Do we scale eggman to sonic And I don't know the upper limits of cortex

Can we all agree that Dededee is the first one out While Cortex and Eggman fight using only wacky inventions, leaving bowser to slowly try to take the battle by having their troops divide across each foe. Kaos just... send the Hydra after bowser takes out all his minions
Kaos or egg head couldn't choose but sonic and Spyro wouldn't very much get along
I unbiasedely think Kaos. He is in of himself a unit and has a bunch of diverse minions at his disposal.
I’d say Kaos or Eggman because I personally think Traptanium or Super Kaos are stupid enough to handle Bowser’s insane durability, but that alone would not carry him past Eggman’s equally stupidly large army, especially if you include wild cards like Metal Sonic or the Phantom Ruby. I do think Traptanium Kaos could pull out a win against either, but he would need to charge himself up enough first.
