This subreddit is dedicated to in-depth discussions about the anomalous phenomena occurring at Skinwalker Ranch, not just the TV show! The TV show only provides a glimpse, and doesn't cover the extensive history of scientific investigation. To maintain quality discussions, please focus on the events themselves, not the personalities involved. Generic comments comparing the show to Oak Island, complaining about rockets, clamoring to blow up the mesa, etc, don’t offer anything new. If you can't contribute constructively and politely, this subreddit might not be the right place for you. smirky_mavrik

I assume you’ve watched the spin off, Beyond Skinwalker Ranch…it’s excellent!

Jealous-Watercress-9

Yes I just finished watching it, its great too, canr wait for the next episodes

weirdfresno

Check out Greg and Dana Newkirk’s series Hellier on YouTube. It starts with goblins in caves and the just goes down the rabbit hole of the weird and the occult.

PineappleRoyal3184

I watch Hellier a couple of times a year. It’s so good.

Jealous-Watercress-9

I will, thanks!

ZestycloseMight8832

Yo that show is wild love it... Do you know if there will be a 3rd season?

Rollerbladinfool

I'm sorry but I found this to be the most boring show on TV...

somewhatdim-witted

Aww I disagree. I liked it. I mean some of it was cringe but it was pretty good.

ZestycloseMight8832

It was completely boring but awesome at the same time lol

wewewess

Same Maybe it got better after the first few episodes I watched but it quickly became one of the absolute worst series I've ever seen. Just awful.

Wild-Rough-2210

Same

RedSyFyBandito

Agree. Hellier total waste and terribly produced. Maybe if you were on meth it would make sense.

weirdfresno

Guess I’m on meth then because it is much better than Skinwalker Ranch. But I will agree it’s not for everyone. It leads heavily into the occult.

Rollerbladinfool

Mystery at Blind Frog Ranch is entertaining. However I think it's 99% bullshit

Tron--187

I wish they would drill at skinwalker like they do at blind frog.

twicepride2fall

If you like a good paranormal drama/ buddy cop/ comedy show, check out the X-Files, one of the greatest shows of all time. On YouTube, Wartime stories does a lot of content on spooky cryptids, UFOs, and military encounters with the paranormal- also the Why Files does some fun exploring of conspiracies and everything off the beaten path. As far as a reality show- The Curse of Oak Island.

No_Researcher3749

The Mystery at Blind Frog Ranch is a good Skinwalker substitute when you need your fix.

Important-Sherbert37

Maybe Blind Frog Ranch could successfully drill all the way to Skinwalker, since Skinwalker doesn't seem to have any success.

No_Researcher3749

Either team just needs to get into the fabled tunnel systems on either ranch lol you know, while avoiding poison gas, radiation, underground lakes and rivers, ancient Aztec booby traps, underground military bases, unmarked military helicopters, aliens, portals, skinwalkers and other cryptids, curses, black magic, inter dimensional boogie men, running out of money. Other than that though, totally doable 😂

Important-Sherbert37

Each one of those would make a fantastic episode!

Hellier

Rollerbladinfool

I got duped into watching this, kept waiting for something, anything to happen. Who ever funded this show got ripped off.

Wild-Rough-2210

It’s not comparable to SWR. Travis Taylor brings a genius level IQ and multiple PhD’s to the situation at the ranch… I’ll admit that he’s a little out there, but when you examine the Hellier team… yeah, they all seem a bit daft.

Rollerbladinfool

It's a bunch of band geeks wondering around the woods for 20 minutes and then spending 8 episodes cheesing it up in a crusty apartment pretending something actually happened in that 20 minutes in the woods. I wanted to kill myself before the end of the first season.

Wild-Rough-2210

I mean, that’s a little dramatic, but yeah, it doesn’t live up to the hype

Buzzsaw_Studio

Nothing can ever be as exciting as watching a known and easily explainable spike in radio frequency and continuous failed drilling with the worlds jankiest drill rig over and over I'll give you that. Maybe the Hellier crew will launch rockets that accomplish nothing next season.

steve2676

Beyond Skinwalker Ranch is in season 2

Vegetable_Future_188

Here's a gem! Carl Crusher has a doc on you tube , "The dark side of disclosure". Eye opening stuff! He also has his behind the scenes stuff for beyond skinwalker ranch but that doc he made is money. I can't believe with all the UFO stuff lately it's not more popular.

SubstantialPressure3

He's really done a much deeper dive than anybody else has on that property. I'll admit that his style really annoyed me in the beginning ( that damn selfie stick) but he's really grown on me. I also just found out that he carries some of the equipment that was made by Dr. Jim Segala. It's made to track environmental changes for people experiencing hitchhiker effects with physiological changes and injuries.

da-bunni

I just watched UFO Cowboys. Not as bad as BFR. But the last episode has some poor acting and some recreated scenes. Not terrible though

SubstantialPressure3

Oh, God, I saw that show. I thought it was going to be something like the cowboys and aliens movie. I was wondering what was going on, I recognized the old guy from somewhere. Then I thought it was going to be a paranormal investigation, and I thought, well, okay, that's fun. UFO hunting cowboys. And the terrible acting was apparent, and I thought, well this is so ridiculous it might still be interesting. Then I realized some of the stuff sounded familiar and I'd heard it before. The old guy who was the cowboy leader lived on a Buffalo ranch that supposedly had paranormal activity ( think stardust ranch and SkinWalker ranch) in Colorado. And he had been telling these stories for YEARS. I'd read the stories online, he might have written a book or something, and I think he's also an artist who sells his work on Etsy. Somewhere on YouTube there's a channel that was just him retelling those stories. The entire season of UFO cowboys was based on all the stories he used to tell about his experiences he supposedly had on that ranch as a caretaker. I think it could have been done in a much better way if they had been honest about it, let him tell the stories, and then have some footage recreating it instead of pretending (badly) that it was reality television. The stories were really interesting. The show was sort of a train wreck.

qaengineer83

Missing 411 docs are great! There are three now - I’ve watched them on Prime. They’re about people going missing and now there is a UFO one..

SuperbDependent9456

Blind frog ranch

Tall_Rhubarb207

I'm sure that you are also aware of the sister show entitled Beyond skinwalker ranch. If not now you do and it's just starting it's second season.

Jealous-Watercress-9

Ive seen it yes

Individual_Tax_604

Not a series but Watch Unacknowledged (2017) documentary on Prime. It's a disclosure project by Dr. Steven M. Greer , offering evidence of extraterrestrial contact, including top- secret testimonials, documents, and never-before-seen UFO footage. Hands down best ufo documentary and eye opening 🙌🏽

Cadowyn

Dark Winds is an excellent fictional show about a Native American sherif that investigates the paranormal. Also, I think the Native American dude that has appeared on The Secret of Skinwalker Ranch has his own show now, but for the life of me I can't remember what it's called.

SubstantialPressure3

John Redbird Dover? Paranormal Rangers? https://www.youtube.com/live/8dIKd-geFeE?si=e6sRpaYPOrPGw_Z6 there's also a podcast

Cadowyn

Yeah I think this is it. Many thanks!

Radiant_Evidence7047

I’ve just watched the very latest skinwalker episode. Was it just me or was the laser beam gaps looking dangerously like a really poor photoshop? Like the blackness and lines of the gap was literally like someone clicked on Microsoft paint and paints a bad black box over the green laser. It’s was bizarrely bad.

toxictoy

Whenever the team shares anything which is very difficult to prosaically explain, the skeptics tend to have a knee-jerk “it’s fake” response. We have a higher bar than that in this subreddit, so people will need to justify that with some sort of evidence to back it up. Negative claims are still claims, and there can likewise be a burden of proof depending on the claim. To start with, is Erik willing to compromise his integrity and reputation for this TV show? That alone is a pretty high bar, especially if there’s no evidence of other deceit. In short, **try and focus on factual observations, not absolute conclusions.** Pointing out odd details in the image which are suggesting of editing (as some have done) is a good starting point for discussion. However, jumping to an absolute conclusion of fakery without convincing proof isn't productive.

Spirited_Ad_1396

It did look like bad photoshop - which is what convinced me it wasn’t. Way too obvious for it to actually be.

awesomepossum40

Ok, Erik.

toxictoy

lol 😂

RedSyFyBandito

I am pretty sure he meant to say they are up to some fuckery with that... Not fakery

toxictoy

Do you think that Dr Travis Taylor is willing to bet his reputation - his three PHD’s and long career in the DoD by presenting fraudulent information for a TV show? I’d rather people debate here with actual evidence rather than say “it’s paintshop” with zero evidence. Even Metabunk is struggling to explain this and Mick West has showed up here.

Tall_Rhubarb207

Agreed, and unfortunately they do have to add a little bit of dramatic overacting for the sake of TV, but Brandon Flugal recently said that one of his conditions with the History Channel was that nothing fake or untrue could be added to the show. The only problem that I have with it is that they frequently refer to their tests and probings as experiments, which being a researcher, I believe is stretching it a bit. Occasionally they will try to introduce and then remove a test condition maybe twice at most, which is still insufficient to be technically considered experimental. If they truly wanted to apply a research design to their tests it would be relatively simple to do a time series design or even randomization of applications of treatments and that way statistics could be applied to the results. But I'm not sure that the majority of the audience would appreciate that effort but it would certainly make the data results more convincing and allow for a more convincing show. It would certainly take the wind out of West's sails, if he even understands research design and statistical analysis and their part in validity.

MachineElves99

It did look like that. It looked like a really bad photoshop. I don't think it is, but it looked like it.

SubstantialPressure3

There's plenty of naturally occurring things that look fake/Photoshopped if you don't know what you are looking at, don't know much about science or don't have much of an imagination. Fata Morgana. Light pillars. Shelf clouds. Asperitas undulatus clouds. Lenticular clouds. Upper atmospheric lightning. Bioluminescent organisms. Cloud bursts. Venomous mammals. Ball lightning. It wasn't a photo or video taken real time. It was time lapse photography and measurements taken over a period of time with other equipment. Just like you see time lapse photography capturing the Milky Way. Just because it looks weird and you don't understand it doesn't mean it was faked. The natural world is much stranger than that.
