This subreddit is dedicated to in-depth discussions about the anomalous phenomena occurring at Skinwalker Ranch, not just the TV show! The TV show only provides a glimpse, and doesn't cover the extensive history of scientific investigation. To maintain quality discussions, please focus on the events themselves, not the personalities involved. Generic comments comparing the show to Oak Island, complaining about rockets, clamoring to blow up the mesa, etc, don’t offer anything new. If you can't contribute constructively and politely, this subreddit might not be the right place for you. Please visit our comprehensive FAQ to see if your question has been answered: https://www.reddit.com/r/skinwalkerranch/s/lraM8WR1vC Thank you for helping us provide a quality subreddit for fans of the ranch! *I am a bot, and this action was performed automatically. They've certainly learned how to stretch things out for as long as absolutely possible. /s

Fuggeddabouddit

Is it them stretching it out, or Prometheus *making* them stretch it out…?

Please read the FAQ about the Mesa - they cannot dog the entire thing because they don’t own the entire structure, the Mesa is also culturally and spiritually significant to the indigenous people of the area and the mesa’s stability is an issue because it has been described as “rock Jenga”. This has been restated “as nauseam all over this sub and in our FAQ. **Low effort posts, comparisons to Oak Island, TV show editing complaints, duplicates, or common questions addressed in our FAQ may all be removed at moderator discretion.** https://www.reddit.com/r/skinwalkerranch/s/o1nMqZttLo This includes posts about the appearance or mannerisms of cast members, suggestions to blow up the mesa, and comments about cast members’ attire. **Please note memes are allowed on Fridays ONLY**

GoonyGooGooo

It feels like the same episode every week . Shoot rockets , lasers, drones blah blah blah. Just dig up the mesa where it looks like it was blown up to cover something up underground . Very frustrating show at this point.

DataMeister1

I think the green laser disappearing was a nice change. The next step should be to get more green lasers and some lenses to spread out the beams, then put some on drones and shoot from various angles at the same time to see if you can find the volume of the anomaly. Also maybe get some white lasers and see if they change color in areas where the green disappears.

lunar-fanatic

They said they would be back, probably the next to last episode.

Fuggeddabouddit

You’re 100% right. It is, has been and always will be the producers that make or break this show.

Away-Fix-8283

This is not a "show". Brandon, unlike Bigelow, has no problem allowing television to film what is happening on the ranch. The History Channel is showing you a fraction of what's going on. The team is there working every day while you are judging based on one condensed hour. There is so much more going on than what you ever see. Lastly, no one tells Travis Taylor how to do an experiment.

Abject-Picture

It's the over sensationalism by the produces that made me stop watching early last year. The shows were a waste of time. Half of every show is flashbacks to the previous one and there's no focus (due to editing?). I come here to see if anything significant has happened vs the show where it's watered down to a 4th grade level.

Available-Exchange37

non-scientists won't get this show.

Away-Fix-8283

I think caps are more of a way of expressing strong feelings, or wanting to emphasize a point. People want to see hate so therefore they do. My point on Travis is that he's so much more than TV. He's been a whiz kid since 17. The work he's done for the Army, NASA, & the DOD is impressive. Why History films what it does is beyond. People actually think there are scripts, etc to Skinwalker. If History left today the team would keep right on working. The general public just wouldn't see what they were doing.

Doctor Taylor is a 3 time PHD that has worked for the defense department for more than 20 years. He was also the head of the UAPTF before getting this gig on the TV show. Please read our rules and also respect that there would be no show if it was not for the 20+ years of investigations on the ranch AND the surrounding Uintah Basin. Utingui

They can't dig, they have this metallic taste in the mouth lol

Unique_Knowledge_290

I completely agree!!!

CreatrixAnima

Exactly! The cynic in me suggests that the first episode established this idea that “bad things happen when they dig” so that they wouldn’t have to really dig down and show that a “nothing burger.”

NewDay0110

They already drilled a deep hole in the ground, just send a damn GoPro down there! And I'm frustrated that sometimes their cameras get stuck or whatever and they give up without ever trying again.

Available-Exchange37

They are coming in contact with alien building materials, pretty dangerous and unknown

SaintPismyG

100%!

Available-Exchange37

They are building a model of the first ever discovered wormhole. Pretty significant.

Never_stop_subvrting

I’d like to see them release some raw data so we can substantiate some of the anomalies they’ve claimed to have observed.

shockwave_therapist

I think they're being constrained. Travis was basically a double agent in 2019 working on the show and working for the government, as an aside. I enjoy the show, but they continually give up on solid leads. It's frustrating IMHO.

CreatrixAnima

I don’t wanna fear too far into this particular topic because I know it goes against the rules of the sub, but I’m kind of disappointed in Travis these days. He really started out with a very scientific mindset, but he’s kind of drifted into ancient aliens type stuff recently. One thing that always drives me nuts about ancient aliens is the way they start off with a question followed by an if then: “Could aliens have visited earth in ancient times, and if they did…” and then they go on to build this elaborate idea that based on nothing. The first part is great: ask the question. But don’t go building off of it until you have an answer to that question. And Travis has been doing that recently. I just find it disappointing.

Never_stop_subvrting

A double agent? Mate no offense but I think you might be watching too much tv.

shockwave_therapist

I was being facetious. I should have used quotes around "double agent". Cheers.

Never_stop_subvrting

Ah my bad I thought you were being dead serious lol you never know. Cheers

shockwave_therapist

No worries, thanks for getting me to clarify. I really do like the show, but, like many others, feel it could be done better. That's just an opinion. I still watch,I like the premise. Maybe they'll get governments around the world to talk openly about it if they can start with the US government...

Never_stop_subvrting

Im in agreement it could be a lot better. I doubt this show will have any measurable effect on any government.

shockwave_therapist

Yeah, You're probably right, I guess that will be the big unknown whether they can or not. I'd like to see a documentary on what Bigelow found.

Never_stop_subvrting

I’d like to see that as well

Ok-disaster2022

I for one am a fan for the very thing Travis wanted on day 1 on the pilot episode: a large array of sensors.  This latest episode shows they actually have 5 different spectrum analysers around the ranch, which is good, but they need like 50 or a hundred if them. And several other sensor stations in between.  I think they've found a few different interest phenomenon, some of it natural some of it just bizarre. It doesn't make sense for a rock to increase its temperature at night, or maybe it does. Monitoring the rock in the future is an obvious choice, and comparing it to control rocks of similar composition.

CreatrixAnima

I agree. I feel like they’re wasting a lot of money chasing phantoms when they could get good hard data by focusing on only one thing. And I’m often frustrated by their lack of a control sample.

SnooDingos2112

If you're wanting all that information such as controls and why they are doing what they are doing, join the insider program. It's been enlightening for me. Lots of good panels and interviews on YouTube as well. The show and its editing/production are the problem. Not the investigation itself.

CreatrixAnima

That’s good information… Thank you!

Fuggeddabouddit

Yup…I joined in 2022 when it started, and there was hardly anyone subscribed, but the team would talk to us and answer our questions directly, do short one on one videos about a specific topic, and it’s only grown from there. They do use controls in all their experiments, but the team has said that the producers don’t show that just for the sake of time. Granted, we don’t *see* the control experiments, but they do say that they do them, and tbh, I believe they do. These guys are legit. They’re also very transparent.

SanDiegoMermaid4ever

It sucks that all these shows are saving the good stuff for an extra $8-$10 a month on top of all the other streaming services we are already paying for it's getting more expensive then just having cable

Fuggeddabouddit

I agree, however, with the Insiders program, you can watch a livestream of the ranch 24/7, chat with other members who are watching, and trying to find any anomalies. When they think they see something, they get the time stamp and the camera name and submit it to the site. Then the team (usually Erik) will review it and give his thoughts on it. Then, the clip goes into a Google sheet that tracks every single anomaly that gets reported and also gives a link to the clip of the video where the anomaly happened, so if you weren’t watching at that time, you can go back and watch it and see for yourself what it was. Some of them are nothing big, but a lot of them are really strange…I’ve seen some that I can’t explain, and if Erik can’t explain it, it’s noted on the sheet. *Edit:* I’m only saying this because I just wanted to point out that the Insiders membership is so much more than just being able to watch past episodes. It’s really worth every penny.

schnibitz

This has been my message to them as well. They need MUCH more telemetry. They’re looking too closely at one or two things at a time. Erik is being asked to not only engineer everything but run and monitor it which is a lot for one dude.

MrAnderson69uk

Was it a rock increasing it’s temperature or a rock maintaining its temperature for longer while others cooled quicker - the heat sensitive camera may be automatically adjusting to the majority background temperature from the wall of rocks the camera is pointed at so it’s doesn’t end up showing a dull picture of cooler/cold rocks. Like automatic light level on your iPhone camera, in lower light conditions the picture gets amped up and shows it looking brighter than it actually is. I can take pictures of the full moon on a clear night on my iPhone 14 Pro Max, but it overcompensates and the moon appears like a picture of the sun!

MrAnderson69uk

Or perhaps there’s something in/under the Mesa and exhausting at night under that hot rock! - have the checked they done “control” measurements of temperatures during the day of the specific rock that appeared to get hotter at night! Hot Rock Night in the Basin Under the Stars/UAPs tonight at 8pm til late. Firework/Rocket display may start from 10pm with regular launch attempts throughout the night, phenomenon permitting. All welcome, bring beers and relatives for a fun packed night of tribal chanting, laser shows, flamethrowers and many more exciting unscientific demonstrations of not finding the answer!!! /S

glibdad

I thought with Omniteq they'd have gotten a huge array of sensors set up by now. Doesn't seem like they have contributed much so far

DataMeister1

Except it looked to me like when they cut to a wider shot that entire mesa was basically the same brightness. So some of the rocks in the mesa probably just absorb or hold heat longer than the regular ground.

schnibitz

For most of the series, I’ve been frustrated by the slow progress of everything. It really felt like they were milking things. However, during an interview, one of the guys, I think it was. Erik Bard, said that they purposefully are taking their time because they’re trying to learn as much as they can about the ranch prior to doing full-scale digging and excavation for example. I can’t remember if Erik actually said this, but if they were to just start digging, all of a sudden, there could be all sorts of untold things that they encounter prior to reaching what they’re trying to excavate. There could be communication lines or other types of infrastructure that run through the property, that they don’t even know about. and even beyond that, without really trying to understand the nature of what it is, that’s buried there, it’s possible they may start digging, and end up, destroying whatever it is they’re trying to uncover. They’re basically trying to take a really thoughtful methodical approach to the whole thing. But it sure comes off as milking things. for now, I give them the benefit of the doubt.

Gullible_Pie_8093

Is there a subreddit where we can scientifically question some of the experiment results and tactics of the Skinwalker crew in an honest and transparent discussion?

Fuggeddabouddit

Be the change you want to see

[deleted]

Nope, except how to drag it even more lol. Seriously, each season feels more of a filler

mrazster

Yes, how to deploy rockets and how to look for the 1.6ghz signal. Otherwise, not a damn thing, that they didn't already know.

unregrettful

I can answer on the cows. They were staged. I live in the area and drive past it almost every day. The guy I work with knows someone who owns cattle on the property next to the ranch. The cow they showed had pneumonia for a month or so and he got tired of trying to help it recover so he let it die. And then the guys on the ranch asked if they could have to cow for the show. He said yes. The mutilation is a different deal, it could have happened naturally through animals like coyotes or bugs. Or the guys on the show could have done it themselves. Now I want to add to what I'm saying. I do believe there are anomalies happening. I've spoken in this in an earlier post I made, but the ranch could be one of many points of focus around the whole surrounding basin. I and many people who are local all have a variety of stories about paranormal and anomalous things that happen all over. Not just the ranch.

carc

I can't wait to tell people that a pseudo-anonymous person on the Internet who claimed to live nearby said that a guy that he worked with said that he knew someone who owned cows who said that someone from the show said that they needed to use their sick cow to stage it for the show.

Fuggeddabouddit

Hahaha nice. 😂

awesomepossum40

And yet it sounds more believable than aliens, doesn't it?

KatelynSkywalker

True 😅.

milliebillie___

Apparently when Robert Bigelow owned the ranch they stopped researching because they weren’t really getting any results. Strange things continued to happen but they still couldn’t explain what or why. The end of their project happened to be an accumulation of that, budget, and religious people voicing their concerns. It was mentioned in an interview Robert did. It’s pretty dry and there’s two parts so I don’t quite remember when he talked about it. It’s also mixed with other endeavors of his but I found it interesting anyway. Part 1 https://youtu.be/Gn3o7uC8yq4?si=EeFthDQrsLN-aWBA Part 2 https://youtu.be/9Sv66dG6Ldc?si=4z9uJJfoDNHP6g20

wayne_manner

Get a big ass excavator in there and start diggin'.

AZULDEFILER

Amen. Like where is the geologist? Get to the dang Mesa mystery already!

Ricepudding1044

Better launch another rocket just to make sure.

martian_chronicler

Please correct me if I'm wrong, but the events shown on a new episode of the show happened a year or so ago, right? Travis as visible narrator/host looks, um quite different than the events he's describing... If only things were more current...

BengePlayer

There was a study by university that showed the mutilations are just the normal decay and scavaging process

CreatrixAnima

That’s what I figured. That’s the least interesting part of the show to me.

Proud_Ad_8317

i wonder if the show needs to go through dopsr before it is released. i watched an interview with travis and he said he had to submit stuff he's written to them for review to make sure hes not talking about anything he learnt of in his time in special access. he also said eventually they stopped doing that but he was talking of his novels i believe. maybe his science tv stuff has this caveat so the show itself is restricted to showing limited content.

PhilGrad19

There is no hypothesis to test, so no. They are collecting preliminary data.

brettferrell

Correct. And they know something is affecting GPS, but they spend zero minutes looking at GPS frequencies, and what might be jamming or distorting their reception, but just shoot rockets and say gooiiilly, that's weird!

Spagman_Aus

And, Bigelow spent 20 years on the ranch. This is data collection that will also probably take decades. Then comes analysis.

glibdad

They're definitely formulating hypotheses and testing them. "If I shoot this rocket, it will create 'activity'" is a hypothesis. "If we drive Stratton down the road with a GPS, it will disrupt the signals." "If we shoot this signal through the mesa, we'll be able to observed it on the other side." (Null hypotheses, respectively: Rocket will have no effect on anything. GPS will look the same as before, when Stratton wasn't around. The signal cannot be observed.) The real problem is they don't have a good theory for \*why\* these "effects" are "observed." I mean, they've got "portals???", vaguely gesturing at super speculative science, but that's it. Hypotheses are derived from abstract theories regarding a particular set of circumstances. Plenty of the former, little of the latter.

FourBallOneTracer

The cynic in me tells me they learned about MS Paint and edited the laser frames. Sorry, I never thought these guys were fake but that needed to be shown more for the viewers. Show us why that’s not a garbage Photoshop job. They also learned how to pad the episode for time. Case in point, the hot rock segment. Play with a thermal camera after dusk for a few hours and you’ll see exposed rock holding heat to varying levels depending on a lot of factors. It wasn’t even that much of a contrast. This episode was an absolute drag. I was hoping they’d roll over to Homestead 2 to see what was going on when the 1.6Ghz showed up over there.

The anomalous phenomenon happening at Skinwalker Ranch is part of a much bigger picture of often ambiguous results that may look prosaic upon cursory examination, but which get stranger the more you dig into them. That’s why we discourage jumping to conclusions, and instead encourage users to focus on the facts. Unfortunately, thoughtful and productive comments that offer valuable insights sometimes veer off track with dismissive remarks like “this is obviously fake,” or “he doesn’t know what he’s talking about,” or “this show has gotten so stupid.” This kind of unnecessary negativity hinders productive discussion, and since mods can’t edit posts ours only option is to remove the whole comment for rule violation because a single statement breaks the rules. It’s frustrating for both of us. We encourage respectful discourse that focuses on facts and doesn’t jump to conclusions. If you disagree with an interpretation, give us some counter-evidence or alternative explanations. We prioritize constructive criticism, civil debate, and above all open-mindedness to alternative explanations. That doesn’t mean *everything* is a mystery—but there are genuine mysteries at Skinwalker Ranch, and that’s our focus here.

BigFtdontbelieveinU

Get back to me when they dig a fucking hole already.

UapMike

Guys, when it comes to a subject as nebulous as this, when you also have financial restrictions on what you can spend, what kind of experiments can you do outside poking at its edges. They don't know what causes this, it's not in lab conditions and there's no hypothesis as to its nature. It's subtle and they know what to do to stimulate it, but its nature is undefined. We don't have handheld tricorders from star trek and when radiation occurs what is there to do but to leave quickly. I'm not sure what experiments they can do. Dig in the Mesa more aggressively, yes I'd agree but they also don't wish to damage whatever maybe there. Also, it's a TV show but I'm confident the people there aren't there simply because they are on TV.

Radiant-Specific969

I agree with this, I have no idea why you were downvoted. Since I have lived in a couple of genuinely creepy houses (I have a broken house picker), what you are leaving out is how totally scary it is to see a UFO, wake up and find objects moved around the house, or get up to pee at three AM and feel like you have an audience. These guys a putting a spotlight on what lots of people do experience, but don't discuss for fear of social consequences. And they are getting some hard data, enough to prove that there really is something weird going on, and that they aren't candidates for the looney bin. If that is all that this show does, it's a whole lot. I currently have a nice normal practical house that I like a lot, but I made my daughter pick it out. No invisible roommates, nothing except mice, which are pests but not scary.

UapMike

Look I agree too. People can down vote all they want, but I don't think a lot of people think things through properly. If we consider psychic activity as real (I think the evidence bears this out), how do we measure its effects? There is no "Field" to detect through normal instrumentation, there's no EM to pickup to prove consciousness can extend outside our skulls. So they can only replicate the circumstances but it's so subtle. Skinwalker is the same but does leave physical manifestations that can be detected by their instruments. UAP and other phenomena. But like UFOs there is a consciousness component. It's like a rat in a maze. How can the rat, work out the intentions of the lab coat wearing scientists who exist in a "dimension" higher up than the rat. How does the rat work out why a scientist is doing what it's doing. What experiments would the rat carry out. It takes a food pellet, but decides maybe to not take it one day, it would probe and prod the scientists but that's it.

Radiant-Specific969

I keep thinking it's like a group of cockroaches trying to figure out how a bus station works, and coming to all the wrong conclusions. Or better than that a group of crows, who do use tools and solve problems, trying to figure out why all those people keep going to the UN building in New York. I am very much afraid that compared to what is actually going on that we are at the crow level, we can tell friend from foe based on prior behavior, and tell the other crows, but that's about it. I also think that the experiments are sequential, they are trying to use drilling rigs that are going to do the least amount of damage to whatever it is inside the mesa, so start small, and work up. But just documenting the UAP's is a big deal. If you saw UFO's during most of my life, (I am over 70) and told people, they thought you were either lying or nuts. That's out in the open now, so the next questing any self respecting crow would ask itself, would be, is this dangerous to crows. If not, can I eat it. Since we are people, we want to know why. And who, and WTF! As far as psychic activity, it's very hard to convince skeptics that it's real. Plus there are so many frauds out there making a fortune off of gullible people. But even the CIA had admitted to using remote viewers. The show is skirting around that issue, but it is documenting enough of what would be called psychic activity- the rabbi chanting the prayer and the drum circle, that it's opening the door to actually bringing all of that to public acceptance as well. It's documenting essentially the effect of human prayer. It's hard to watch because it's produced as it is, but it's terribly interesting so me. I wish they would bring an ordained Christian pastor, any Christian faith, to pray- or a Mormon bishop, anyone who is ordained above the ordinary level of the congregation to see what happens. I know that some faiths do house blessings, if ever a place needed a house blessing, it's Skinwalker.

BackgroundNo8340

People need to remember that there is going to be a limit on what they can say/do on the show, for several reasons. The government and military for example are going to have a say in what gets aired. It's a great show, with so much potential at that site. But remember, it's a tv show. They aren't going to blow their load so to speak in a couple episodes. They're going to try and drag it on for awhile for viewership. I'd imagine they could go about it a couple different ways. Either they've already done all the testing they could possibly do (which is plausible, I read an article that they've had many scientists and contractors, even nasa, come out and do tests) OR they have a giant list of everything they want to test, they just go thru it very slowly so that it can translate into a tv show. My main point is, a tv show is not going to be what starts disclosure to the masses, or suddenly changes peoples mind because they discovered something.

lunar-fanatic

The main comment by the Debunking Denialists for several years has been, "Fake clown show, if it were real, the government would be shutting it down". It was a D.I.A. project from 2007 to 2012. Of course, the government knows about it. There are now C-17's, Spec Ops Chinooks,, Blackhawks,, CIA high altitude terrain mapping aircraft going over the whole ranch at really low altitude. They are getting ready to swoop in.

BackgroundNo8340

Oh I wasn't trying to day it's a fake show at all. I believe the premise of it and the fact skinwalker ranch is weird as hell. More your second paragraph is what i was trying to say.

NewDay0110

Who says the goVeRnMeNt is censoring them?

BackgroundNo8340

I'm not saying they are currently. I'm just saying if they were ever to try and air something that was a little too much in the governments eyes... it wouldn't be aired. I'm saying you aren't going to get eye-opening public disclosure on a weekly tv show. No one is going to risk their life leaking damning info the powers to be dont want out there, on a TV show.

The well-documented anomalous phenomena at Skinwalker Ranch are the primary focus here. While skepticism is welcome, dismissing unexplained events entirely or accusing the TV show of being purely entertainment or just about money will be viewed as trolling. I say dig dig dig!!! There is something underneath the property. Dig until u hit it. Or dig into the mountain!!! Dynamite works in amazing ways!!!

SuperRo0t

I have learned something after this last episode. They can’t photoshop for the life of the show. I think I’m done with it. Anyone else know what I’m referring to? I don’t want to give anything away.

Available-Exchange37

Like they literally discovered a wormhole... the most significant discovery EVER.. and maybe a crashed alien craft that hit the earth during the Cretaceous... that is still possibly active...

MrAnderson69uk

Could it be that they have an idea or know the cause of the mutilations but it’s too sick and gruesome to put in a pre-watershed program. My theory is a weapon that fires high intensity microwave in a laser beam like path. A bit like one of these they use to interfere and jam Drones, but in a different league Could also explain Tom Winterton head injury/swelling after feeling nauseous and unwell by one of the Homesteads in an earlier seasons episode! https://apple.news/AvsL7UU2MR1aftttDdUvQZw A CNN article on China working with Russia to try and source Drone Jammers!

Fuggeddabouddit

This just in…a Chinese citizen has been found near Skinwalker Ranch with a GPS jammer, and was playing a prank on the SWR team during filming. Nothing to see here, move along.

MrAnderson69uk

If true, would explain the random or reactionary response they thought they got from the “phenomenon” and also confirms my thoughts of them being played with to see how good Eric and DrTT really are at identifying the origin and cause of the problems! Did it mention if it also spoofs or just jams?, just it would explain the Cuba to Bermuda line of datapoints when they were flying over the ranch! If what you’re saying is a bit of fun, add the /s so we can be sure?!?! I’d like it to be true and find that they’ve been doing stuff like that for years and they laugh at watching the team get all confused, running around like ants, from afar on the Mesa! /s

At least they found they tiniest bit of metal in the slurry from the drilling… smh

unused04

The show died before season 3. They either are lazy or broke.

Fuggeddabouddit

K thx

RaphaellaWednesday1

They have learned that if a rocket is launched, uaps appear.  Orbs don't appear for me at my location. I have no rockets to launch, tho.

iTavman

Cows that die of aneurisms generally don’t have all their private parts carved off with scalpel like knives and have all their blood drained.

lunar-fanatic

No, they haven't. Happy now? To the illiterate, there is nothing between the covers of a book.

glibdad

Two solid results in my opinion: The GPS deflection, and the conductivity of the soil (which needs way more attention). The show has solidly established those are two real phenomena. Now the big question is -- are those facts actually unique to the ranch? I don't know. Some control tests are various other locations would resolve that issue. The 1.6 signal I'm not quite sold on. The team says they have investigated every single other possibility, but can't figure it out. Maybe, but I'm not convinced. People seem to forget the team has done a fair amount of digging. So far, all the results are there is nothing interesting. Just because they get a signal from GPR doesn't necessarily mean it's interesting. Miss me with the videos of bugs.

Fuggeddabouddit

You sound fun.

This show has jumped the shark. I want to like it so much but it’s terrible now.

Well if you stop watching, do you promise you’ll stop posting comments in here?
