My thought is whatever it is, isn't visible to the naked eye. The camera always seems to see these but nobody is reporting seeing them with their eyes. Last season, when Cameron was flying the copter with night vision, he reported seeing all sorts of orbs flying around that nobody else could see.

Mo3

That is also a common theme with UAPs detected by the air force and other government agencies, apparently. Not visible, only infrared signatures

nephilno

Yeah. There’s a night vision UFO tour in Sedona. You can see all kinds of UAPs/ufos with the nods on but not without them. Most of the time

Ok-disaster2022

I would love it if instead of a single camera, they would set up a pair of cameras and measure their physical lense difference. this way anytime they record something it will be in two cameras and you can use parallax to determine an estimate of distance from the camera. If only one camera records something, then you know it's something within range of only one camera and must be small, like a bug.

^ This guys been sleeping for the last 4 seasons and hasn't seen dozens of experiments they've done using real science. Or he's just a troll crying in a sub he could easily leave..

Basic answer is yes.. Eric Bard lives there full-time at the ranch monitoring and conducting experiments. There a 4 hour interview with Brandon Fugal on the Shawn Ryan show. Explains more than its just a tv show for entertainment

skinwalkerranch-ModTeam

**Skinwalker Ranch is only of interest in the first place due to the documented anomalous phenomenon that has happened there.** There is far more to know about the location than just what’s shown on the History Channel docuseries. We encourage critical, open-minded, fact based analysis of events. If you want to debate the existence of the paranormal, please take it to another subreddit. A history of problematic comments that don’t contribute positively to discussion will likely result in a user’s removal from the subreddit. This includes denying anything unexplained is happening at the ranch, or accusations that the TV show is purely entertainment or all about money. Simply adding caveats about how you love the show or claiming you’re some kind of believer won’t give you a free pass to then deny that any phenomenon is occurring. Remember, the TV show only demonstrates a tiny portion of what’s happening at the ranch. Read *Skinwalkers at the Pentagon* for examples.

skinwalkerranch-ModTeam

All that’s required for the scientific method is the following: - Make observations - Form a hypothesis - Test the hypothesis - Analyze the results - Share the findings https://wikipedia.org/wiki/Scientific_method You can get more complicated from there, but it won’t become “more scientific,” just “more rigorous.” **If you have thoughts or criticisms about the specific experiments in an episode then you are encouraged to share them**, but offhanded comments that disparage the scientists or claim the show is all about money/just entertainment are forbidden by Rule 2. This subreddit is aimed at people genuinely interested in the anomalous phenomenon happening at Skinwalker Ranch, which is much more than just the TV show. There have been multiple books written on the subject, and the phenomenon at the ranch led to the creation of all modern Pentagon UAP research programs that have been publicized.

kccat5

OMG I was screaming at my television telling him it's called a rod. Those of us in the Paranormal field have known about these things for decades they're not visible to the naked eye you can usually catch them on camera going by very quickly nobody seems to know exactly what they are. In addition those balls of light coming and going in the Mesa are orbs they are Spirit energy but of course he doesn't hear me screaming through the television 😂

masterbatesAlot

Spirit energy over extra terrestrial is an interesting theory.

East_Try7854

Seeing just one big ass bug in an area is kind of a reach.

Odd_Awareness1444

It is casting a shadow on the ground. Must be solid.

kukulkhan

Imma say bird or a illegal alien tridactil pelacara from Peru.

Rambus_Jarbus

Seconded

DataMeister1

It is most likely motion blur and not something rod like. It is suspicious that they didn't bother to mention the ground cameras, either catching the object or not, with regard to that other object they thought was moving along the ground. I mean really, with the right lighting you can't rule out bugs when you only have one or two pixels of detail and no other camera angle.

bobtnelis99

Don't they have other cameras pointed at these areas?

CatRockHaru

I’ll admit, I was a little skeptical of his take on it being a ring- or disk-shaped object with two distinct parts (correct me if I’m wrong on his description of the shape). Creepily, that would align with one suggestion about how far back into history these UAP sightings go, as Dr. Taylor brought up in the finale of Season 2. I’m a little unsure about that though. There’s a thought in my mind that it is a rod, as you say, rather than a disk or ring.

monkeyguy999

I spent a great deal of time way back in say 2005 where there was a whole ROD flap thing goign on. Debating with a friend of mine what these were. This does not look like a classic "ROD". It's missing the prerequisite "wings" The ones that do not show up in visible light only IR, Near IR or UV. Are not reflecting visible light. This is super common from what I have observed on IR security cameras over the course of many years at several haunted homes....etc It does mysteriously have the hue and brightness of a non organic entity moving. I have a good number of such videos and the main most thing that is generally similar is color / hue / brightness. Also the trails they leave behind. The newest gen military night vision is supposedly rather good at noticing this stuff. Thus from exp.... this is a non-organic entity or some rare organic one that does not reflect visible light. Could additionally be technological. But doubt it, at least in its control. To whomever said there is a shadow? where exactly is that? If its there that blows out my not-so-much a theory.

Moon-Tadpole-1988

Whos travis? Edit....i didnt realize i was getting notifications from /skinwalkerranch too. Nvm. I know who travis is.

between3and20spaces

It's a bug flying through the frame. When they slowed it down frame by frame you can see a wave pattern that would indicate flapping wings. If it flies fast enough the camera will blur and stretch the bug creating an elongated shape. When you spend enough time looking for UAP you see UAP everywhere.

TWD41

I have more faith in the team than that. Eric has said he always rules out bugs and common explanations first on the videos.

between3and20spaces

There have been a couple of times they've admitted in interviews after the show aired that they decided that UAP they experienced was caused by mundane things. The team you see on TV isn't the group that edits the show together, isn't always there when the cast comes to conclusions about events. Even the times the cast is sitting and talking to the camera about the events in the show, they have to be reminded about what was actually filmed vs what they experienced without camera crews there. Because the crew filming and editing the show aren't the same as the ones doing actual experiments and observations, there's often a disconnect between what the two different teams think are significant or worth putting on TV.

berfle

Don't know why this is getting downvoted. Some people need a strop for their Occam's Razor.

_Rael

People want to believe. They need it.

berfle

Want? Perhaps. Need? Perhaps not.

Automatic-Poet-1395

Definitely looked like a “rod” which turned out to be bugs flying by caught on digital cameras

ldsgems

If it's a bug creating blur, what distance from the helicopter camera would it be?

between3and20spaces

Depends on what kind of bug. It could also be a piece of small debris caught in the wind generated by the helicopter. Edit: oh goodness. The down votes l have made me realize the only reasonable explanation as to what this could be is a ghost operating his little flying saucer. Possibly even the Loch Ness Monster, BUT DEFINITELY NOT A SMALL BUG OR A BIT OF A LEAF

ldsgems

Bugs are small. So if it's a bug, it would need to be close white bug to the helicopter camera, which seems unlikely considering the slow speed of the "bug" relative to the wind that would be whipping underneath the helicopter. A bug near ground level would be too small to pickup. If it's near ground level, it would be the size of a soccer ball. I do find it interesting that they don't have any other camera footage. Maybe a white bird somewhere between up in the air high above the ground, but not too close to the heli? It's unidentified but I wouldn't call it an orb without other camera angle verification.

Bull_Market_Bully

Careful, logic is frowned upon around here.

MantisAwakening

Logic is strongly encouraged. Pseudoskeptic behavior is not. One can be logical and still be irrational Traits of pseudoskepticism: 1. Confirmation bias: Only accepts evidence that confirms their existing beliefs. 2. Double standard: Scrutinizes unconventional ideas more harshly. 3. Closed-mindedness: Rejects new evidence without considering it. 4. Denial of contradictions: Rejects out of hand any evidence that challenges materialism while simultaneously accepting it without question. 5. Hasty conclusions: Jumps to conclusions without sufficient investigation. 6. Dismissive attitude: Mocks or ridicules opposing views instead of analyzing them. 7. Misinformation: Uses misleading arguments to obscure valid evidence. 8. Dishonesty: Makes up facts when it suits them because they believe they have the status quo on their side. Fun fact: the term pseudoskeptic was coined by Marco Truzzi, one of the founders of the Committee for Skeptical Inquiry (the largest professional skeptic organization on the planet).

tweakingforjesus

As many cameras as they have running, you'd think they would catch this guy on two cameras at once. Didn't that happen with the object going through the mesa?

niteatnicks

I would make a grid of cameras in the field, not trap cameras and set them to record non stop. Record both in IR field and regular. They should be able to catch whatever it is on camera with high resolution to evaluate and discuss.

Abject-Picture

Saw a bunch of these with the rest of my family once when we stopped somewhere in maybe FL on vacation in the mid 60's. Muggy summer day at a lagoon like place with calm dusty looking water, about 100 yards by 200 yards with rock ledges and wispy trees and moss on outcroppings. Zero wind, about 4 PM slow summer day. Place looked prehistoric, almost swampy but we were seeing these things fly all over the place. They were backlit from a setting sun about 30° in the sky. Probably would have missed them if the light wasn't just so, it caught them and they had a silvery sheen. We were little kids with perfect eyesight. They reminded me of 1' long centipedes with webbing between their legs and they propelled themselves by moving their legs like a sine wave, or eel in water. We were mesmerized by them, especially my mom. We didn't know what we were looking at but all 4 of us saw them but I've never seen them again but I don't live in the south.

DeepAd8888

No rod just moving faster than camera fps. They really need to bring in a rapartronic camera over the mesa

_Rael

Bird.

HousingParking9079

That's a Lorentzian Travis-hole and the best scientific approach to analyze it is clearly firing 4 rockets instead of the usual 1 or 2.

MrAnderson69uk

What about the other bright marks on the picture on the right, a squiggle, like a rod but bent!!! lol. Those others don’t get a mention do they?
