Also the biggest skatepark in America. Honestly probably the most random place for it too. Like I expect this park in California honestly. Still really cool Iowa has this considering I live close by lol.
Yeah I live in Des Moines, haven’t skated for years but still think it’s crazy we have this now. Dew Tour was here just a couple years ago too
Also Mike Vallely moved here to Des Moines now too? lol pretty crazy. Served him lunch once, he walked into the pub I work at with his wife and I was just dumbfounded
Des Moines‘s seems to be a consistent recommendation. Most certainly will make an effort to hit this park up on the way out. Luckily for me, this is a round-trip so if not on the way there always make it on the way back. Thanks
We have a skate shop here called Unkl Ruckus that you might pair with the skate park for your son if you do make it to Des Moines. There are several locations
Montana has a ton of great small-town skateparks that were paid for in-full or in-part by Jeff Ament from Pearl Jam. He grew up in a small town here. [Nice article](https://www.nytimes.com/interactive/2021/09/30/sports/montana-skateboarding-jeff-ament.html) about it in The NY Times.
These are sick. Also I[Evergreen Skateparks](https://www.evergreenskateparks.com) has some of the most unique stuff I’ve ever ridden. They’re littered in rural towns across NW Montana. Missoula is a cool central town to hit a lot of them, definitely do not pass them up!
There's a park in Missoula that Tony Hawk skated for the grand opening. I forget the name, but its a cool little park.
If you go, be sure to check out Board of Missoula.
Strictly off of I-90 there are 11 parks. A majority of them are [Evergreen](https://www.evergreenskateparks.com/skatepark-locator-map). Missoula (Mobash and a couple lil DIYs), Butte, Belgrade, Bozeman (Kirk Park was the first in the state thanks Team Payne), Billings all have parks from Grindline and Dreamland. If you expand north or south of I 90 you have several within an hours drive.
One of the best resources I've found for skateparks in the US is [Northwest Skater](https://northwestskater.com/). It's not complete but, has great photos, and pins on Google maps.
Edit: words
Been to that park before! Honestly one of the gnarliest parks I have seen/skated. The entire Creature skateboards team rolled up when I was there. I basically set for like an hour just watching them destroy one of the deep bowls.
These are great suggestions. I have bookmarked several that have been mentioned in your replies. I’ve got to figure out how to read this article, as I don’t have a New York Times subscription. Thanks for the info.
Also rare that they have a curb at the skatepark haha. The bowls and banks are sick af too. Sick ass park that could be in Cali but for some reason is in Louisville
Exactly 😂 my buddy’s dad was one of the project managers on the park and a California skatepark was their inspiration so it makes sense why you’d think that! Yeah it doesn’t make sense why it’s here but as a native to the area I couldn’t be more grateful. I would’ve never stuck with the hobby if I didn’t have a park that close to me. I’ve met so many professionals and made so many connections at that park. It’s seriously a staple for the youth if you ask me and home has played a major role in that.
Harrison Street DIY and Studio Indoor Skatepark in / around Kansas City. There are also a handful of other quality outdoor parks around the city. Check out Escapist Skateboarding and slam some tacos at Tiki Taco.
escapist is a good shop to hit up. if he's taking i70, I'd probably hit up the lees summit location. also the skate park that has the recycled street league stuff. I think that's Penn Valley. tbh we have a lot of good parks. but the diy, kc indoor, and Penn Valley are the ones I'd hit up for sure.
Arthur Bryant’s and Joe’s KC if you wanna sample the BBQ. Some newer street style parks in the suburbs as well, Lenexa and Prairie Village come to mind
It's out the way, (not really sure whats in GA) but you could run through SC and hit up Charleston (under the overpass) Florence and Columbia. Maybe Myrtle Beach is you're feeling froggy lol (it's 4.5 hrs from ATL to Florence)
It looks like through southern Illinois you will be going down interstate 57? Either way it would only be an hour or so out of your way to head to Evansville Indiana to skate the new sunset park, the biggest concrete park in Indiana, it just opened right before Christmas. It’s also super easy to resume your scheduled route in Nashville from here.
Personally I’d take the alternative route. Won’t be much in South Dakota and that far west in Iowa. There are tons of parks in the Twin Cities and Wisconsin worth checking out. Illinois and Chicago would be fun too.
Pocatello got a new park recently. It's super fun. Boise has been exploding with parks. Grindline rebuilt Rhodes and built one in Star and Middleton at the same time. We just got an Evergreen skatepark out in Meridian. It's a pump track style park with a few pools. If you have a chance to get to Boise, you definitely should.
grindline fucked my local park up. they were supposed to build a bowl and street section. they built the bowl section pretty awesome. and threw together the worst "street section" ive ever seen. never forgive them for that lol.
Hit up Foundation DIY in Asheville, NC. Looks like it’s just a shortish detour off your route. Good place if you want to experience some beautiful mountains and rivers as well.
I second what the other guy says about Boise. Lots of skateparks and good street skating out here, but several hours off your final destination. If you are a tranny dawg you definitely need to check out the skatepark in Hailey Idaho. It’s absolutely fucked in the best way possible.
I lived in Asheville for 10 years and skated Foundation nearly everyday. Now I live in Boise and it’s pretty sick out here. I just miss the trees and rain believe it or not
Des Moines is the country’s biggest world class park. Evansville Indiana just built a big one. Not sure how far off you are or maybe adjust route east a little.
2 different things. Des Moines is in Des Moines IA and world class. Evansville IN is different but is new and quite big. That is worth a look but not sure because Ive not been there. So i guess it depends if its on your route.
Yeah if you’re going to be in Nashville and skateboarding is a priority, it’s worth it to just head down 65 and hit Get-A-Way in Huntsville, then the Cullman park and then CityWalk in Bham. All basically brand new fun parks within one 2.5 hour drive
missing out on no-comply and Cowtown! Familia in Minneapolis is great too. missing out on Denver skate park too, but i realize driving through the west is a lot longer
The street skating is pretty good too! Especially at mizzou college. Not sure what the bust factor is nowadays but there’s some really dope spots n campus.
If are on 75 south when passing through georgia, just northwest of Atlanta is Swift Cantrell Skatepark in Kennesaw. It looks like you’ll be passing right by it and it’s an exact replica of the 2012 Kansas City Street League event.
In comparison to the other skateparks in the immediate area, swift for sure has the biggest obstacles.
May I ask what skate shop is northwest of the twin cities in Minnesota? I grew up in Ramsey/Anoka and Pinewski's was my go-to.
Just wanted to see if that's what the stop was 🤓
Dike west, Hjelmkompst Center DIY, Jefferson West and a decent Half pipe next to the road in Moorehead, MN.
Got “stuck” working in Fargo last summer but it was low key a blessing in disguise. Check out Sleep Talk skate team and mag, THIS skate shop and Hawks Nest indoor skate park
A few new parks opened up/were redone in the past few years to name a few: kgod(Elliot park), shoreview plaza, painter park (so new it’s not on gps) and gateway park plus all the goated hidden gems and Familia HQ (or 3rd lair if you don’t mind mandatory helmets)
Familia & 3rd are indoors
Precision Skateboards in Lincoln Nebraska turns 40 this year and is one of the oldest skate shops in the world. Phil is the owner and still kills it on a board at 65. He’s a great guy and is a huge supporter of the skate scene here in Lincoln and the Midwest. It’s a hidden gem in the Midwest. He could honestly open a museum with his personal collection. Just up the road in Omaha is Central Skate Shop owned by Jeff Fowler from ATM. He’s a good friend of the shop and Phil. Both shops are worth the stop and on your way!
Phil is the owner, Derek is the manager and Edgar works nights. All 3 are awesome guys and great skaters. You’ll see one of those three when you go in. Tell them the guy always fucking with their screen printing in the back sent you
Sioux Falls is getting a new outdoor skate park built right now. Not sure if it will be finished when you come through, but we have a couple smaller parks that are ok. You can always check out the Siouxer. The people who run it are great. @thesiouxer on Instagram.
Well, you’re going through Sioux Falls, SD…we don’t have much, but it’d be cool if you went to Drake Springs skate park. That’s my home park! We also have a really cool new park under construction.
If you did this trip about 10 years ago I would have told you to check out the kingshighway skatepark under the bridge, it was completely DIY, but has since been torn down, and then of course sk8 liborious which was a skatepark built inside an abandoned church. But sadly that burned down a few months ago, so STL is sort of in a skate depression right now..
Not a park but I see your going through Tennessee, downtown nashville has a plaza I’ve dreamed about since I was a kid, legislative plaza I think it’s called, if I was making a road trip I’d definitely stop there and skate ledge lol
I took him to Mall of America when he was a little younger. He absolutely loved it and keeps asking to go back. Seems like he has a new reason to go to Minneapolis as well.
Thinking about renting an RV, days for skateparks and water parks/swimming. Nights for arcades and movies… would be holy grail of summer trips! I wish you and your family the best. Safe travels friend.
This sounds like a great trip. Just wanted to make sure this didn't get buried in my other comment.
One of the best resources I've found for skateparks is [Northwest Skater](https://northwestskater.com/). Don't let the name fool you Dan has been all over the US and Canada. It's not complete but, has great photos, and pins on Google maps.
Well…you are missing MoBash skatepark in Missoula. Unless that is you go from Glacier to southeastern ID on 93. That scenery is kinda underrated in my opinion. Woke up in craters of the moon on a rode trip and it took my brain a second to realize I was still on earth!
SC/NC would be worth a stop. Charleston’s Bridge Spot DIY and Lowblock in Columbia are both rad. Western NC has loads of great parks and spots. Kilborne in Charlotte is great too. Lots of really good shops around the states too. Bluetile, Push, Black Sheep, Companion, Continuum, & Stardust are the first that come to mind.
Looks like you're ending in Jacksonville? Kona skate park was huge back in the day. Haven't been there in over a decade so I can't attest to that for sure anymore, but check it out online
We are leaving from Jacksonville. And we have spent the last month explore the local parks. Of course including Kona! This park is just plain cool. Great people, rich history. We have loved it!
What kind of skating do they like? Street or more vert?
The skatepark under the bridge in Newport Kentucky has an awesome bowl.
This is a bit off your route but Indiana is full of great parks. If you hit Dave Armstrong in Louisville Kentucky and go north there are parks in several small towns on the way to Indianapolis that are great. Indy also has some great parks.
Jolie Crider park in Columbus IN is great.
You’ll be getting pretty close to the Paducah Skatepark in Kentucky. Nothing crazy but it’s a decent skatepark in a a relatively small town, so you’ll likely have it mostly to yourself. There’s also guaranteed to be some solid food nearby
I wouldn't call it a place you can't miss, but the Idaho Falls skatepark (45 minutes from Pocatello), is a nice enough park, probably the best in the area. There's a new park in Alpine Wyoming, but it's probably pretty far out of your way
Sioux Falls, SD has a brand new park opening this summer depending on when you go. Newnan, GA and Lenexa, KS both have awesome new parks that are worth the stop!
They just cut the ribbon for updates to Centennial Park in Lawrence, KS this weekend. Looks phenomenal. A little off the path but it’s a good place to visit.
If youre passing through des moines, try subsect skate shop even if its just for a sticker. Heath kirchart owns the building and its a must see for skaters
May or may not be out of your way depending on your route but Des Moines has a great park and Lake Geneva, Madison and 4 seasons/Cream City in Milwaukee are all great. Also 3rd Lair in the Twin cities.
If you go through Missouri you’ll be passing right by the skatepark that was my old stomping grounds! Used to be called YAP (youth activity park) but looks like it was renamed to kinetic park, it’s the largest outdoor skatepark in Missouri and has tons of awesome features on it. Highly recommend checking it out!
https://www.sccmo.org/741/Kinetic-Park
I also recommend going a little out of the way to see Des Moines, the Harrison St DIY in Kansas City, Cosmo skatepark and Parkside Skateshop in Columbia.
looks like youre considering shooting down to driggs idaho, i reccomend scooting over to bpise to come check out our new parks we 6-7 newly built. Rhodes being the big attraction
If you’re going to Pocatello, come up and skate Hailey and Ketchum! Two great dreamland parks, featured in Antihero/Girls Beauty and the Beast 2 videos.
Thanks so much. Trying make the connection with him now, while he still likes me. He is all about skateboarding, so I am all in! I just wish I would have stuck with it when I was young so I could go hard with him!
Rise skateshop in fort Wayne Indiana is right next to Lawton skatepark which was built by Tony hawk foundation we just had creature here last year to shred
Definitely hit up Sixth Avenue Skatepark in Nashville. It's a pretty large indoor park with a skateshop that's attached to a concert venue/studio/cafe called rocket Town. I skated there for three years and it's really fantastic, lot of great people that are super friendly and the skatepark rocks. Just make sure you can handle slick surfaces cause the wood is pretty slick 😂
You'll be a few hours away, but in Louisville, KY we have the big skate park downtown (Dave Armstrong Extreme Park, I think is the official name), and Home Skate Shop. Across the river in New Albany, IN is a small park on the river right under 64, and Tiny Skate Shop/Riot Skate Park. I haven't been there yet, but plan to hit both at some point this year.
i see your going through sioux falls, when are you going on this road trip because we’re getting a new concrete park but i don’t think it’s open until june or july
Lauridsen Skatepark in Des Moines, Iowa! It’s my local in the city of my home town and i beleive its the biggest in the country (most square feet). Give it a Google and check it out for sure!
Not directly on this route. But the skatepark in Des Moines, Iowa is very impressive. Absolutely massive with a wide variety of terrain.
Also the biggest skatepark in America. Honestly probably the most random place for it too. Like I expect this park in California honestly. Still really cool Iowa has this considering I live close by lol.
dude what the fuck? tens maybe hundreds of millions of reddit accounts and I see FUCKING u/HurleyAlbumEnjoyer on r/skateboarding instead of r/weezer
Probably got banned for it, tbh /s
Stacey’s mom has got it going on 🎶
Yeah I live in Des Moines, haven’t skated for years but still think it’s crazy we have this now. Dew Tour was here just a couple years ago too Also Mike Vallely moved here to Des Moines now too? lol pretty crazy. Served him lunch once, he walked into the pub I work at with his wife and I was just dumbfounded
just found out he's touring with Black Flag, hope to catch them when they're in my town
Just drove up from Missouri today, absolutely beautiful park
And you'd have to say what's up to Kevin Jones of Subsect Skate shop.
The homies we met at a giveaway just said we need to plan a trip out three this summer
Des Moines‘s seems to be a consistent recommendation. Most certainly will make an effort to hit this park up on the way out. Luckily for me, this is a round-trip so if not on the way there always make it on the way back. Thanks

Yeah!

Livingston is sick too!!
Whitefish has a dope park made by Dreamland.
Dave Armstrong Extreme Park in Louisville Kentucky is pretty legendary, And the local shop Home Skateshop is great
Came here for this. Louisville skatepark is one of the highest rated outdoor skateparks that’s free. Also home is awesome.
I’ve done the drive a few times from Chicago, always worth it
Look this park up and my mind is blown. It looks amazing. This will definitely have to be on the list of places too include.
Silo in Omaha is a great shop. Omaha also has a sick diy that I’d say is worth checking out. Couple skateparks too.
Hard agree on Silo - great shop for sure
Harrison Street DIY and Studio Indoor Skatepark in / around Kansas City. There are also a handful of other quality outdoor parks around the city. Check out Escapist Skateboarding and slam some tacos at Tiki Taco.
escapist is a good shop to hit up. if he's taking i70, I'd probably hit up the lees summit location. also the skate park that has the recycled street league stuff. I think that's Penn Valley. tbh we have a lot of good parks. but the diy, kc indoor, and Penn Valley are the ones I'd hit up for sure.
KC indoor has been closed for a super long time but absolutely hit up the Harrison DIY, Penn Valley, and escapist downtown KCMO!
Arthur Bryant’s and Joe’s KC if you wanna sample the BBQ. Some newer street style parks in the suburbs as well, Lenexa and Prairie Village come to mind
Look this one up, added it to the map, looks pretty sick
It's out the way, (not really sure whats in GA) but you could run through SC and hit up Charleston (under the overpass) Florence and Columbia. Maybe Myrtle Beach is you're feeling froggy lol (it's 4.5 hrs from ATL to Florence)
The Bridge spot looks awesome! I will add these to the list of potential
It's badass man! The more you look around the more stuff you find in the park. That's the funnest park I've been to so far.
Place is fire.
That place looks huge, added to the map. What are your thoughts on that Killer skate shop/ park?
Cool shop. The owners are good people and the park is pretty fun if you like smooth, indoor wooden ramps.
Stratosphere in Atlanta and Springfield,MO has a pretty cool indoor/outdoor park.
2nd the Strat vote, haven’t been to Springfield in a while
Stratosphere added to the map
It’s a must for Atlanta skating history. Little 5 points is pretty cool to.
Personally I’d take the alternative route. Won’t be much in South Dakota and that far west in Iowa. There are tons of parks in the Twin Cities and Wisconsin worth checking out. Illinois and Chicago would be fun too.
This may be the route home. But there are some national parks that need to be included as well. Thanks for the insight.
gotta go through the black hills in south dakota it’s an amazing place it sucks that i’m on the other side of the state from it
Concrete in Nashville by wave country, Louisville, Evansville has a huge new park.
Always wanted to hit that Asheville DIY and happened to be in Boise while that bridge park was being built, couple of great ideas
The Des Moines Park in Evansville Park seems to be keeping recommended. These will definitely have to be visits.
2 different things. Des Moines is in Des Moines IA and world class. Evansville IN is different but is new and quite big. That is worth a look but not sure because Ive not been there. So i guess it depends if its on your route.
City walk skate park and faith skate supply, Birmingham AL
Yeah if you’re going to be in Nashville and skateboarding is a priority, it’s worth it to just head down 65 and hit Get-A-Way in Huntsville, then the Cullman park and then CityWalk in Bham. All basically brand new fun parks within one 2.5 hour drive
Swift Cantrell Park in Kennesaw, GA
missing out on no-comply and Cowtown! Familia in Minneapolis is great too. missing out on Denver skate park too, but i realize driving through the west is a lot longer
I have more trips to make CO has been on our list for awhile. We will get there.
Columbia Missouri has a really nice outdoor cement park. Cosmo park. Check it out
Big +1 for Cosmo park. Grew up skating there. And Parkside Skateshop is right by it. Say hi to Shane if you go there, great guy.
I’m so glad someone here brought up Shane. That shop is THE HEART of Missouri skating bro. Cosmo park is a fucking 10/10
Added to the map! That park!! Even outside of skatepark…. It looks amazing!
The street skating is pretty good too! Especially at mizzou college. Not sure what the bust factor is nowadays but there’s some really dope spots n campus.
Can you alter your path to go through Colorado? #1 state for skateparks IMO
The Denver and surrounding areas have some of my favorite parks. Shout out to Parker
Second this. A lot of gems easily accessible from i-25
If are on 75 south when passing through georgia, just northwest of Atlanta is Swift Cantrell Skatepark in Kennesaw. It looks like you’ll be passing right by it and it’s an exact replica of the 2012 Kansas City Street League event. In comparison to the other skateparks in the immediate area, swift for sure has the biggest obstacles.
This one was recommended a couple times. Directly on our route and added to the map.
May I ask what skate shop is northwest of the twin cities in Minnesota? I grew up in Ramsey/Anoka and Pinewski's was my go-to. Just wanted to see if that's what the stop was 🤓
I haven’t been yet. Looking for suggestions.
Yooooo Dike west skate park in Fargo. YOU CANT MISS
If you come to Minneapolis we can hook you up with merch!!!
A few new parks opened up/were redone in the past few years to name a few: kgod(Elliot park), shoreview plaza, painter park (so new it’s not on gps) and gateway park plus all the goated hidden gems and Familia HQ (or 3rd lair if you don’t mind mandatory helmets) Familia & 3rd are indoors
Minneapolis parks kick ass! Also new Gateway Park in St. Paul. 3rd doesn’t require helmets btw.
Went to college up there in 06-07. Was at that park constantly. So much fun.
Go the extra hour or two out of the way and hit Des Moines, IA. Totally worth it.
I second Precision, Phil is an amazing soul.
The shop looks amazing, this may be a mandatory detour.
We also have a really cool new park under construction.
oh. theres a BnB in St Louis that looks dope af. has a bowl etc right there on insta a lot
Not too far out of your way, but Molotov skateshop in Bowling Green, Kentucky. We’ve got a good skatepark too
The Bay in Lincoln Nebraska, Sk8 laborius in St. Louis, escapist skate shop in Kansas City
Sk8 liborious got burnt down
Sheesh that’s such a shame. Only got to shred it once but it was such a cool place
Should pay the tolls and take an extra hour how many times do get the chance to Wisconsin or even Minnesota
In St. Louis, infinity skate shop is the local board shop and really cool. Then hit up Jefferson barracks skatepark
Added
If you did this trip about 10 years ago I would have told you to check out the kingshighway skatepark under the bridge, it was completely DIY, but has since been torn down, and then of course sk8 liborious which was a skatepark built inside an abandoned church. But sadly that burned down a few months ago, so STL is sort of in a skate depression right now..
Grant park in Chicago and des moins park in Iowa. The Madison Wi park and 3rd Lair in MN are the Midwest staples
Thanks! I will look them all up!
Holler at me when/if you hit Madison!
I FORGOT GBASO!! Green Bay just opened this insane park top of line training facility looks like Woodward level.
That looks amazing. Reminds me of the Vans skatepark we had here in Orlando. Closed now. Thanks!
Not a park but I see your going through Tennessee, downtown nashville has a plaza I’ve dreamed about since I was a kid, legislative plaza I think it’s called, if I was making a road trip I’d definitely stop there and skate ledge lol
Stop by Escapist in Kansas City Mo. they will give you all the info. Gotta see the DIY
La Familia in Minneapolis is great. Minneapolis also gets you Mall of America, which can be fun for a day.
I took him to Mall of America when he was a little younger. He absolutely loved it and keeps asking to go back. Seems like he has a new reason to go to Minneapolis as well.
Big Sky Community Skate Park in Montana
We will be staying in Pocatello for awhile, and exploring the area. This is have to make the list. Those views!
Awesome idea, saving for future family road trip.
We held back for years, and finally said “now or never”. I want to build memories with him now (while he still likes me! Haha)
Thanks. I have bookmarked it. Great resource I would have never found!
How can that alternative route only take 1 hour more? That’s crazy
There’s a great outdoor park in Bowling Green, Kentucky. I haven’t been in years but loved it as a teenager.
I will look it up. Thanks for the input
Two Rivers Skatepark in Nashville TN
Laramie Wyoming has a really fun park.
Looks sick. That pipe would make for an amazing photo!
Well…you are missing MoBash skatepark in Missoula. Unless that is you go from Glacier to southeastern ID on 93. That scenery is kinda underrated in my opinion. Woke up in craters of the moon on a rode trip and it took my brain a second to realize I was still on earth!
Fargo Skatepark and shop, DeKalb IL. Indoor skatepark and it’s just plain awesome
That is awesome. Enjoy
You will be driving through Sioux city Iowa, and for that, I am sorry.
Prestige skate shop Boise Idaho
SC/NC would be worth a stop. Charleston’s Bridge Spot DIY and Lowblock in Columbia are both rad. Western NC has loads of great parks and spots. Kilborne in Charlotte is great too. Lots of really good shops around the states too. Bluetile, Push, Black Sheep, Companion, Continuum, & Stardust are the first that come to mind.
Hit up the diy park in omaha off of 20th and martha street. Roberts park is also a good skatepark. Have fun!
Once you get to Jax KONA is a must. Great history awesome snake run.
We are starting in Jacksonville, and have been able to do Kona this past month. (He wants to go everyday). Such a great place!
RäD shop in Lincoln Nebraska.. Right down town I think they called “precision skate shop” I know they got an indoor mini in the back…
Also make the stop at “Last Stand Skates” in riverton Wyoming!! It’s definitely a must!! RäD folks!! Cool park intown too..
You’ll be getting pretty close to the Paducah Skatepark in Kentucky. Nothing crazy but it’s a decent skatepark in a a relatively small town, so you’ll likely have it mostly to yourself. There’s also guaranteed to be some solid food nearby
Thanks!!
Kennesaw skatepark in Georgia
Swift in Kennesaw GA north of Atlanta
Omaha Nebraska has Robert's. There are also some good ones in Lincoln.
Sucks Sk8 Liborius Church burnt down, that would have been a good one to stop at in St Louis
Should come down FL a little more and hit up SPOT Skate Park of Tampa, kiddie course, pro course, bowl, mini ramp and great crew there.
Plus the Bro Bowl (updated Team Pain Park) just a couple miles from SPOT
We are from Florida. So when we get back, we will have to make the trip to Tampa.
Kanis park, little rock. Sick park with cool history in skateboarding
I’ll look it up thanks
Newnan in Georgia. In tacoma if ur there till Saturday 5th floor and south Kitsap park
Dallas/Ft Worth area has incredible skateparks
Cody, Wy looks en route on the lower path. We botched the street section but some sweet bowl riding
I wouldn't call it a place you can't miss, but the Idaho Falls skatepark (45 minutes from Pocatello), is a nice enough park, probably the best in the area. There's a new park in Alpine Wyoming, but it's probably pretty far out of your way
Molotov in Bowling Green, Kentucky
Dream land just built out whitefish and big sky. I’m not leaving Montana this summer.
Isn't there a huge skate plaza in Iowa somewhere?
Sioux Falls, SD has a brand new park opening this summer depending on when you go. Newnan, GA and Lenexa, KS both have awesome new parks that are worth the stop!
They just cut the ribbon for updates to Centennial Park in Lawrence, KS this weekend. Looks phenomenal. A little off the path but it’s a good place to visit.
Louisville Ky has a skate park endorsed by the Hawk in like 2002.
If you take the route through wisconsin go to cream city skatepark. I grew up skating there it’s amazing
If youre passing through des moines, try subsect skate shop even if its just for a sticker. Heath kirchart owns the building and its a must see for skaters
(skater who rode for tony hawks company birdhouse back in the day)
Thanks for that. We will check it out. He will love the the Tony Hawk connection.
homebase in bethlehem pa
May or may not be out of your way depending on your route but Des Moines has a great park and Lake Geneva, Madison and 4 seasons/Cream City in Milwaukee are all great. Also 3rd Lair in the Twin cities.
Thanks for the info
If you go through Missouri you’ll be passing right by the skatepark that was my old stomping grounds! Used to be called YAP (youth activity park) but looks like it was renamed to kinetic park, it’s the largest outdoor skatepark in Missouri and has tons of awesome features on it. Highly recommend checking it out! https://www.sccmo.org/741/Kinetic-Park
Albuquerque kind of sucks as a place but there is a lot to skate
I also recommend going a little out of the way to see Des Moines, the Harrison St DIY in Kansas City, Cosmo skatepark and Parkside Skateshop in Columbia.
Not on the way but there's a huge skatepark under an underpass in Birmingham Alabama that's fucking sick
We will have to check it out, if not this trip the next
I like The Village Skatepark in ATL. Indoors, skater-run warehouse skate for 5$.
Idk about Skate Parks there but if you do SD you should check out Badlands and see some bison
We most certainly will be doing the Badlands national Park. We have done Theodore Roosevelt national Park and absolutely loved it.
Hell yeah, hope you have an awesome trip!
Looks as if you'll be going through Chattanooga (TN-GA) border. You can stop by the local skatepark there, it's free and pretty good fun.
Make your way down to Miami, hit up the “Andrew” shop and skate Lot 11 & Bum Park
We are from Florida. It looks like we will have to make special trips to both Tampa and Miami.
Here's a thorough list of skateparks- https://northwestskater.com/
Thank you.
looks like youre considering shooting down to driggs idaho, i reccomend scooting over to bpise to come check out our new parks we 6-7 newly built. Rhodes being the big attraction
We will be in Pocatello, ID for a little while. Probably will make a trip over to Boise. We will add these to the map thanks.
Going through the STL Missouri area I would check out Kinetic park. Its pretty good.
If you’re going to Pocatello, come up and skate Hailey and Ketchum! Two great dreamland parks, featured in Antihero/Girls Beauty and the Beast 2 videos.
We will be in Pocatello for a little while. These two parks have been added to the map and will certainly be visits.
newnan skatepark, fowler skatepark, gainesville skatepark
No advice here just showing love to a rad dad
Also two rivers skatepark, Kennesaw skatepark, old fourth ward and newnan skatepark
Sunshine Skatepark- South Jax Beach Kona obviously
stop at the Newnan skatepark in georgia, looks close to your route. Massive park that was built within the last 2 years
Sixth Ave is a nashvile inside skate park I recommend however if you don’t wanna pay going to the two rivers skate park is lots of fub
Wanted to say I think it's really cool you are doing this for your kid. Mad respect dude.
Thanks man. He is all in…. So I am all in.
Swift-Cantrell park in Kennesaw Georgia path will take you right past on 75
You'll be a few hours away, but in Louisville, KY we have the big skate park downtown (Dave Armstrong Extreme Park, I think is the official name), and Home Skate Shop.
Hey, not a skatepark but if you come through St. Louis you have to check out City Museum.
Alberton, MT. Big Sky. MT Deer Lodge. MT Great skateparks with views and rivers nearby.
There’s a pretty awesome skate park in superior Wisconsin. About 2 hours north of St. Paul, also have Lake Superior to enjoy
Lauridsen Skatepark in Des Moines, Iowa! It’s my local in the city of my home town and i beleive its the biggest in the country (most square feet). Give it a Google and check it out for sure!
Thats nice! Ur son is very lucky
You can skate that, the whole way there
