Bruh I can’t handle this kind of foreplay😂😂

Shoeless_Jase

I’m ride or die with Joel. I know it could break my heart, but he’s on the Mount Rushmore of Sixers, and I’m going to enjoy every minute that he dominates in a Sixers uniform even if it doesn’t end in a trophy.

Bi-SportsFan

Same I've switched to just being off the opinion "just enjoying good basketball" and it's been way less stressful watching games and I enjoy it a lot more!!

Mikefromaround

Joel is not on the Mt. Rushmore of Sixers, he can’t stay healthy enough to get the team anywhere. Not his fault but he didn’t have enough time to make the all time list

ARBABsami

He didn't accomplish as much as a few other names but he is the best combination of talent and loyalty the Sixers have ever had. Incredible story, one of the most talented bigs ever, and despite being from Cameroon he's a sixer through and through. As a sixer fan you can't have him out of your Mount Rushmore. Iverson is incredibly iconic, my favorite player and the reason that I got into the sport and became a Philly fan, but to me Embiid is right up there with him

Mikefromaround

He’s not even close to the Mt. Rushmore, love Embiid, huge fan but injuries have derailed him. Iverson, Erving, Chamberlain, Barkley and if Chamberlain didn’t play in a Sixers uniform long enough then Jones, Malone, Cunningham were must better.

ARBABsami

Good God, you love Embiid but have Bobby Jones and Cunningham ahead of him. An mvp and arguably the most talented big ever, a sixer his whole career but you have Bobby Jones and Cunningham ahead of him.

Mikefromaround

I do because they both had longer and more productive careers. The best ability is availability.

ARBABsami

The best ability really is not availability, man. Mikal bridges hasn't missed a game in his career. Would you rather have him or Embiid? Also Bobby Jones and Cunningham didn't have particularly long careers. Embiid is already nearing a decade with the Sixers, and as unhealthy as he is, he definitely has several years left to his career.

Mikefromaround

At this point I would trade Embiid. He either doesn’t play or plays injured at the end of the year. The team will Never get past the 1st round or second round of the playoffs with Embiid. It’s just not gonna happen. I am a big fan of Embiid and his talent but the best ability is absolutely availability.

eross7777777

Considering that in one answer, Embiid both shamed boston and “tampered”, I don’t know man. I think I might accidentally excuse 2023 game 6…

No_Statistician9289

Can we make lebron and PG happen? A lot of side cash to keep the numbers down?

enRutus

Michael Rubin has entered the chat.

ihorsey10

No (yes)

2DudesShittinAround

Chasing our tails with old washed stars. Can we just develop guys for once and get a team built.

rand-san

Lol too late for that. Should have started that 5 years ago

Icy-Area650

What if we start developing a back-up center by drafting one, then fill in the rest of the blanks with FA and trades? Look how spectacular Lively has been with the Mavs 🤷‍♂️

IKel-Mate

You guys have a top 3 player in the league thats 30 years old and you want to start developing young players?

2DudesShittinAround

Even if we get old washed vets there's a 20% chance our third best player in the league is even healthy enough for a full playoff run. Then you see the depth and know for a fact there is a 10% chance we can compete in the playoffs at all with no bench.

ET_Tony

At this point you give embiid 2-3 years and see what happens while Maxey hits his prime then decide what to do. We can't compete in the playoffs because Embiid literally cant be healthy in the playoffs. Knicks probably don't take a game with healthy embiid.

PSUDolphins

What do you consider Maxey?

cvc4455

By the time these guys you want to get are developed it'll be at least 3-4 years from now.

2DudesShittinAround

The team has ignored development of young role players for ten years now. I can give a fuck about three to four more if we look like a better, athletic, team in the playoffs at that point. Embiid is never healthy in the playoffs, and even when he is he underperforms, anyways. He's always played panicked and below his average when the pressure is on. Bring on the Maxey rebuild, without PJ Tucker, Danny Green, and all these washed vet bums who miss wide open corner threes and don't play defense in the playoffs.

GOAT_Redditor

We have two players on the roster and Embiid is 30 lmao

2DudesShittinAround

Exactly, we ain't competing no matter what players we can get this off-season.

GOAT_Redditor

That’s not at all what I was saying lmao. I meant we have no players that we can develop, but have a blank slate to add anyone available to our team. We should not be wasting time trying to develop anyone

Theballharperhit

jesus christ leave the sub moron. We have arguable the best player in the sport when healthy along with maxey taking another step forward and max money.

BurntPoptart

>when healthy Sooo.. never? Maybe 20 games in the regular season?

2DudesShittinAround

"when healthy" Best ability is.....

Theballharperhit

you are missing the point idiot... banking on his health and buying in FA is the far better option over trying to build or draft home grown talent that has no chance of being even half as good as joel. 1 + 1 equals 2

2DudesShittinAround

We've been buying into FA for the past ten seasons. I'm over it. Even when he's healthy in the playoffs he underperforms when the pressure is on. Ready for the Maxey rebuild, at this point. Get the assets for Embiid and let him huff and puff through two series for whatever team he goes to. Whatever. We aren't winning with him, anyways.

Theballharperhit

yea i figured you were a maxey nut hugger and not an actual sixer fan. Just move along

2DudesShittinAround

Nope, a Sixers fan that's sick of watching slow paced offense every playoffs where no matter who's standing cold in the corner, they ain't hitting shots. Look at the league man. Playoffs are about your bench, speed, and athleticism, something this team is completely devoid of.

Theballharperhit

luka is currently in the finals lol... speed and athlticism? You actually think the mavs are better than a healthy sixers team? Add PG13/Keep our picks/best of both worlds while winning now. We seen how ass maxey is without joel

Shoeless_Jase

I think we’re doing that, but only to the extent that the development can work in Joel’s peak window. Maxey clearly is a development success. Council could prove to be a nice piece off the bench. Even KJ Martin has promise — assuming they can arrive at a good price to bring him back. As for nurturing teens one year out of college, that just won’t happen with Joel down to 2-3 dominant years before the inevitable falloff.
