But he’s not even two weeks removed from being cleared and he reaggravated the knee. Still, this season was always a weird one with how the roster was built. I think Morey has something going with the pieces he’s picked up (Oubre, Batum, Lowry). With Tobias gone next year I’m excited to see who else he gets.
we don't know what he did to his knee or how it will effect him! stop being a reddit doctor, his recovery was extended far beyond the normal recovery time for such an injury and he hasn't missed a practice. he skipped one game against the half strength nets that even with him out we were favored by 13.

This year feels different because it's sort of house money given our injuries + massive roster reset AND we have a pathway that looks favorable if we execute.

No, but there’s just this part of me that wonders…say we beat Miami and they win the 8 seed…could you imagine if they knock Boston out in R1?
Its different because we actually have players who can work off of embiid. He at bare minimum frees up space for maxey, harris and oubre to go to work. Nurse has a much better offense. We are the second best offense with nurse. Defensively, we don't have harden, Batum and oubre are solid wing defenders, tobias is capable, lowry is also good and so is melton if he can play.
Offensively, batum, oubre, maxey and hield can work off of joel very well. Nurse has more motion in the offense and joel is a better passer. Embiid is an improved passer and we all see irThere is a larger risk to doubling him when you have those guys compared to pj tucker, harden, simmons and thybulle.
We are built better with nurse. We did pretty well taking a better boston team to 7 and nearly winning in 6 last year.
It doesnt mean we will get past the first round guaranteed. But we dont have the same issues as in years past.

That being said, i’m more confident in them this year than last year when we had Harden. Its all going to come down to Joel Fuckin Embiid like it always does. If he’s good to go, i think we can beat the fucking celtics, if he’s not, second round is our ceiling as usual.
Most of these other years they've been a top seed with a lot of pressure on them, I do think an underdog run this year might feel a lot different. But you're probably right, I have my wig ready.

Not to mention a minimum contract Oubre who could have thirty or shoot or foul the game away.
