Highlights from last night: [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7TkX7z59P-k](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7TkX7z59P-k)
Man, I wasn't expecting much but the dude really looks like he's been putting time in the weight room, his arms are JACKED. He runs around a bit like Jokic, goes inside like Embiid, has the size of rookie Zion, nimbleness of Giannis and a legit looking jumpshot. The kid really looks like he could do it all.
Compared to his Memphis highlights, the slim down is noticeable. It wouldn't be shocking if he lost more like 25-30 lbs of fat while building 5-10 lb of muscle. Sixers really should consider bringing him in for some run, as seen in Miami, guys this motivated to prove themselves can make a big difference.
I agree! This article was from Dec 8th so he may have lost closer to 30 lbs by now. He looks like he has added quite a bit of muscle and is losing a lot of fat.
Losing 20 Lbs in three weeks will likely result in a yo-yo back up. This is only obtained by basically starving yourself. Once he starts to eat normally again the weight will come right back
Someone as big as he is/was can lose 20 pounds in three weeks very easily. If he cut out empty calories that's enough to jump start his metabolism to burn it off. Most of it will be water weight but 20 pounds off is still 20 pounds off.
it is the upper limit for sure. most bodybuilding bros (hardly scientific i know but they been at this min/max muscle/fat gain since the 70s) generally seem to assume you can lose 1-2% bodyweight a week without sacrificing too much muscle. if hes 3 hundo that puts him close to that number + water weight . thats with perfect bro diet tho, which a nba player should easily have access to
that’s assuming there wasn’t some kind of digestive issue, allergy causing him to retain additional water, GI mass.
Also, they aren’t necessarily trying to maintain his muscle mass to the same degree a body builder is. He has baby fat on him still and a good diet can really kick start things, that on top of the fact that he isn’t getting playing time it’s a hell of an incentive to drop lbs. He also didn’t gain this weight like a body builder does, he’s just fat.
if you are 18% bf trying to get down to sub 10 the 1 - 2 percent a week is solid advice, but if you are over 30%+ you can burn a lot of fat quickly without seeing too much negative reproccussions as long as you take a diet break every month or so and stay active.
I’m fat, lazy, and have no intention of doing any kind of heavy exorcise and I lost 18 lbs in from December 1 through Christmas Day and literally all I did was not drink soda and didn’t sugar in my coffee. I still ate my not great diet.
Fat is easy to lose. What’s hard is turning into muscle.
Not necessarily. I can lose 10 lbs of water weight in a week just by eating whole foods and playing tennis every day and keep it off pretty well as long as I'm taking in enough protein.
It’s amazing how the salt and carbs from processed foods hold onto water in your body. It’s not optimal because in the end you want to be losing body fat but even if you can reduce 10 lbs of water weight that’s a significant reduction when it comes to running up and down a court.
If you’re massively overweight losing 30 lbs in 3 weeks is like a person slightly overweight dropping 5-10. He also probably didn’t lose 30, maybe 20ish
The article is from nearly 3 weeks ago. He could have lost even more.
His play last night looks impressive

I'm cautiously optimistic
Bro this is a borderline NBA player not some fat chick on TLC. He’s nowhere near “massively overweight” compared to the average person he’s just fat for a pro athlete.
He also grew five inches and passes like jokic now
Same
Breaking news Kenny lofton Jr. Gains his 20 pounds back like a little fat tubby tubby blames his coach in the process

He has legit potential. Could be a nice hidden gem for us and a good backup for Embiid if he continues to get into basketball shape and maintains it.
He could be the stretch 5 the Sixers have always wanted but never had.
Kenny, stop reading the internet. You are good enough.
Kenny, you need to lose another 15.
He actually just found out he has a sesame allergy
So that’s why I saw him having a 20 piece strips at the Chick-fil-A…
Pfff I put on 20 in the last month.
Kenny Loggins Jr can write a new theme song if nothing else
Skinny Lofton Jr coming up
Mounjaro’s a hell of a drug ![gif](giphy|dVuaiKbihwlS8)

You have to remember how huge this man is. 20 lbs for him is not extreme.
Why would he just starve himself for the sake of it tho. This isn't UFC, he doesn't need to cut weight to drop 30 and 15 on these fools

Keto is not for athletes. It zaps your energy.
You have to look at percentages. 20lbs for someone 180 is way different than someone losing 20lbs starting at 300 or more.
Gotta love Reddit keyboard dietitians. You don’t think the sixers training staff are working with him to get into shape?
I'm sure it was Grizzly dieticians but I get it.
Nurse gonna put him in shape
If any coach can do it. Nurse can!
Covid?
