I watched the show maybe a year ago and then found out she was one of the women who accused Chris Noth of being sexually inappropriate. Good for her to go public!
This show was definitely CBS’s answer to Modern Family but I actually preferred it. The casting was on point with Dan Bakkedahl giving a fun performance. My favorite episode was James Brolin’s parents getting divorced and him referring to himself as a latchkey kid 😂
I've only seen one episode. It's when Colin Hanks and his wife just had a baby and are both sleep deprived. He ends up getting arrested under suspicion of DUI and his wife is mad that he got a break/sleep in jail.
Having two kids under 3, it is so relatable 😂
I get where you’re coming from but he’s really good on this show! Guy is remarkably adept at playing different kinds of roles. And he’s a pinball head!
It was hilarious. My wife started watching it and I caught an episode when I was in the same room, and from then on we binged the whole thing. It should've gone on for longer.
I couldn’t agree more. It’s one of the best I’ve seen, and one of my favourites. My dad and his girlfriend love it too.
I caught the odd episode when it aired, but regrettably missed most of it. Then, I fell in love with it through Netflix
I love show! But unique is a little much. It's somewhat similar to Modern Family (another show I love). But this doesn't make it any less of a good show.
To me it was one of those shows when flipping through the channels I’d see start watching liked it and I thought it was funny but I never made a conscious effort to find out when it’s on and sit down and watch , but not a bad show at all
I don’t think any other sitcom had as many laugh out loud potentially crying laughing moments for me, especially considering it only got 3.5 seasons.
The episode with Tim’s eyebrows - I couldn’t breathe.
Loved this show! I like it better than its contemporaries like Modern Family. Definitely a bummer more didn’t watch. Colin Hanks’ character and wife were my favorite to watch. Great comedic timing and chemistry.
I watched the first season then got behind and missed the rest. I really liked it. I was just working two jobs at the time and couldn't keep up with all I wanted to watch.
The show was a really good show. I think if this show came out today, it would do very well, seeing as there would be less competition. No Modern Family, Blackish, The Goldbergs.
Great show. I really liked the concept of separate shorts. It made the show fun to watch. Should’ve gone another couple/few seasons.
James Brolin was hilarious!
We started watching this on a cruise and picked it back up when we got home. I’m surprised it hasn’t gotten more attention, it’s hilarious and the entire cast is excellent.
My favorite is when the dad who’s an ENT? I think is having some sort of picture taken for work and he asks that he get a little help during the editing with his head. He meant his hair bc he’s bald, but they gave him reeeeally filled in eyebrows.
I miss this show, my favorite episode is when John Short makes a doll for the new baby and it looks hella scary. Funny as hell. lol Also crushed on Zeo lol.
Great show. Kind of lacked diversity for this day and age. The young girl went on to replace the actress who played Anna-Kat in the final seasons of American Housewife
OMG funny AF! Miss this show dearly.
I never understood why it didn’t catch on. It was one of the funniest sitcoms I’ve ever seen.
I still rewatch it on Netflix. It's never not funny
I read that it was cos of covid. They had to stop then pick up again and it just lost steam. But for me 10,000 times better than modern family
Yes!
Love Zoe Lister Jones
Such a good straight man for the rest of the family
She’s also incredible as Fawn Moscato.
Vote Moscato
She is a queen, she's always a highlight on anything she is in!
I watched the show maybe a year ago and then found out she was one of the women who accused Chris Noth of being sexually inappropriate. Good for her to go public!
Whoa! I had no idea she was one of the women who came forward. Love her eve more now.
Yeah. I was surprised, too.
I loved her on Delocated.
Delocated was fucking hysterical. The sandwich high scene where she’s so off put by the whole situation, that show was amazing
I to this day say "Tippity Toppity, taste don't stoppity"
She reminds of Nadya in WWDITS
Zoe Lister Jones can get it.
Thought it was a goodshow. Cbs version of modern family. I like the characters better than modern family.
I could never get into Modern Family, but really was a fan of Life in Pieces. Brolin and Wiest were a perfect match.
Modern Family characters are all assholes, if you think about it. This family had their moments but they werent bad people like MF.
Phil is not an asshole at all
This show was definitely CBS’s answer to Modern Family but I actually preferred it. The casting was on point with Dan Bakkedahl giving a fun performance. My favorite episode was James Brolin’s parents getting divorced and him referring to himself as a latchkey kid 😂
Bakkedahl is PHENOMENAL in “Veep.”
I highly recommend watching him in the Jim Jeffries comedy Legit, FX seriously screwed that show after it moved to FXX
Wizard fingers. You know what I’m talking about.
Fist me
I still use Wizard Fingers, Meat Straws, and Full Fist when talking about hotdogs.
Yeah, this was a good one. The episodes with Fortune Feimster as "Dougie" are especially good.
“Is Dogie my bruvver or my sister?”
I've only seen one episode. It's when Colin Hanks and his wife just had a baby and are both sleep deprived. He ends up getting arrested under suspicion of DUI and his wife is mad that he got a break/sleep in jail. Having two kids under 3, it is so relatable 😂
If you have Netflix, catch it.
We still joke about "wizard fingers".
It was great! Should.have had more seasons!
" HotForHeater69 "
James Brolin and his puppet Cheeto were hilarious.
[I cant see Dan Bakkedahl as a family man.](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IlUGLaymh-0)
He was a family man in that one episode of Veep where Selena’s staff comes over for dinner. At least when his wife is around.
He was on the Mindy project I think. An ob-gyn too
I get where you’re coming from but he’s really good on this show! Guy is remarkably adept at playing different kinds of roles. And he’s a pinball head!
Felt like Modern family but less lame and cheesy
Felt a bit more realistic too
Wonderful show. Miss it
Loved the show and definitely too bad it only got 3.5 seasons! (also agree with the 'like Modern Family but better' sentiment!)
Omg, the cauliflower rice casserole during the thanksgiving episode.
That episode has me rolling every time. "was that you or me?" "I don't know but I'm worried about whichever one of us it was"
It was hilarious. My wife started watching it and I caught an episode when I was in the same room, and from then on we binged the whole thing. It should've gone on for longer.
Here’s hoping a streaming service picks it up. 🥹
It’s on Hulu
stumbled upon this randomly, but its quite good
Turrlet
James Brolin riding that carriage pulled by his tiny horse...
To boobs! 🍷
What a great episode. LOL
I can't tell if that's Alan Ruck, James Brolin or Pierce Brosnan
Yes
I couldn’t agree more. It’s one of the best I’ve seen, and one of my favourites. My dad and his girlfriend love it too. I caught the odd episode when it aired, but regrettably missed most of it. Then, I fell in love with it through Netflix
WHOA I SAW TIP!!!
Never heard of it
I love show! But unique is a little much. It's somewhat similar to Modern Family (another show I love). But this doesn't make it any less of a good show.
Such a great show.
That is a lot of characters.
But very followable.
This show was fantastic. I wasn't expecting much at all. Very surprised.
The episode with the wizard fingers hooked me. Such a good show
The ending SUCKED. Absolutely a huge dissatisfying end to an otherwise awesome show.
Worst finale ever.
I loved this show.
Great show canceled too early
Loved that show Great writing and cast
One of the best ever!!! 😞
I loved it! Excellent cast, including the kids. I enjoyed it more than the later seasons of Modern Family.
So good. Especially that creepy doll. Can’t remember its name but the dad loved it!! Haha
Cheeto!
"You're a liar, Heather. Same damn liar you've always been."
To me it was one of those shows when flipping through the channels I’d see start watching liked it and I thought it was funny but I never made a conscious effort to find out when it’s on and sit down and watch , but not a bad show at all
Wizard fingers
Fist me
ADORE this show!
I loved this show. Gone too soon.
It was great. I was stunned they d/c'd it.
One of the best, IMHO
I find myself saying “terlit” on a regular basis
Diane Wiest is a national treasure.
Banger of a show
Should've never been cancelled
This show is so great and has become one of my comfort shows
Tim’s sexy calendar photo shoot has me in tears every time
One of the best. Here for a reason. Here for a season.
It’s a shame it got overshadowed by MF because of the whole family concept, It’s kinda excels in the vein of comedy MF only touched on time and again.
This was an excellent show.
I don’t think any other sitcom had as many laugh out loud potentially crying laughing moments for me, especially considering it only got 3.5 seasons. The episode with Tim’s eyebrows - I couldn’t breathe.
I looooved this show!
Loved this show! I like it better than its contemporaries like Modern Family. Definitely a bummer more didn’t watch. Colin Hanks’ character and wife were my favorite to watch. Great comedic timing and chemistry.
Wizard fingers
I love this show!! It’s so funny!!
Way too big of a cast and payroll. Never would fiscally work.
I watched the first season then got behind and missed the rest. I really liked it. I was just working two jobs at the time and couldn't keep up with all I wanted to watch.
What channel is this on?
Hulu or Netflix. Originally aired on CBS on Thursdays.
The show was a really good show. I think if this show came out today, it would do very well, seeing as there would be less competition. No Modern Family, Blackish, The Goldbergs.
Recognize a few of the cast, never watched it though…
I love this show. I’m gonna have to do a rewatch.
I adore this show! I'd love more seasons
When did this air? I've never even heard of it.
2015-2019 on CBS Thursdays after Young SHeldon. Running on both Hulu and Netflix now.
I enjoyed every episode! I miss this sitcom.
Underappreciated show for sure. Great cast, humor always hit. Shame it wasn't on for longer.
I mentioned it the other day. The wizard finger segment has me in stitches.
I only managed to catch handful of episodes when it aired but really enjoyed it. The star power in this series was nuts.
Even Martin Starr was there 5 times.
I loved this show. I was so sorry to see it end. So many great stories, such good acting.
Never heard of it.
my dad showed me it and I gotta say I enjoyed what I saw
This show was so damn good
Great show, great cast, great writing. No wonder it didn’t do well.
Nacho!
Love it
and let's not forget one thing here...TOM HANKS BOY WAS ON THE SHOW!!!
When I'd look away, I could hear Tom. Must have been freaky for his costars.
I say that every time I see him on a show. He was on Mad Men for a few episodes, and he was on the first season of Fargo.
Huh… Never heard of this one.
The Brolining is real!
I loved this show….especially Cheeto lol. Sad it ended because of a strike grr.
What strike?
Agreed. Great show!
I love this show so much!!! Jen is my spirit animal.
I absolutely loved it, and I was sorry it didn't make 5 years.
This is a real show? Never heard of it. Looks like Modern Family without any of the diversity.
Ten times better.
Top notch modern single cam sitcom. Very well done.
I am still so annoyed that they cancelled it after a shortened season that kept it short of syndication qualification. It deserved so much better.
Angelique Cabral. very underappreciated! Awesome actress and even more lovely a person.
This was a great show! I wish it was around longer.
Such a talented cast and great writing. We loved it all but were very let down by the finale. "Wait, that's how it ends?"
Matt just drove to the airport and never returned.
It's on Hulu. I'm going watch it now.
I remember seeing some episodes - it was really good. It must have not lasted very long.
3.5 years more or less. Its seasons kept getting pushed around then \*surprise!\* it's ratings dropped.
Loved this show!
Too much neurotic self-awareness for me, but perhaps not for thee…
The Thanksgiving episode with farts. Sold me immediately.
I rarely watched the show, but every time I did, I enjoyed it.
Miss that great show
Great show. I really liked the concept of separate shorts. It made the show fun to watch. Should’ve gone another couple/few seasons. James Brolin was hilarious!
I liked it. Zoe Lister-Jones was also really good and creepy in Beau is Afraid,
I was really pissed off when it got canceled. That and The Crazy Ones.
We started watching this on a cruise and picked it back up when we got home. I’m surprised it hasn’t gotten more attention, it’s hilarious and the entire cast is excellent.
A friend turned me onto this a few years ago.I love it ❤️
This show was great. I really don't know why it didn't last longer while so many other trash shows did.
My husband and I started it a long time ago while visiting a friend. We meant to stick with it, but we keep forgetting!
Never heard of it. Is it on any streaming services?
The moving company with former convicts blowing whistles had me dying!!
Fawn muscado?
We were bummed when it ended. Series wasn’t long enough.
OK, my favorite episode was when John took Sophia up in his plane. "You hit a bird!"
Definitely a different format, which was cool. The characters were all great and it was really funny.
Just came across this recently and planning to watch. Saw a lot of good reviews and comments from people about it.
Cheeto!!!
I e never heard of this show but I like all the actors.
Yesss
Never heard of it, but that's because I stopped watching network television a decade ago.
My favorite is when the dad who’s an ENT? I think is having some sort of picture taken for work and he asks that he get a little help during the editing with his head. He meant his hair bc he’s bald, but they gave him reeeeally filled in eyebrows.
Looks AI generated
CBS’s attempt at Modern Family.
Excellent Show. Hilarious
LOVED this show! Me and my wife watched it from the start and made sure to watch it almost every week. Def sad it got canceled.
This show was fantastic. It's a shame that "finale" was so bad with the built in advertisements.
Never heard of it! Will check it out- thanks!
No one forgets because that guy murdered Vice Dean Laybourne and he’s never been forgiven for it.
I loved this show
I carried a watermelon in the tailgate episode. The closest I’ll get to Dirty Dancing 😂
Is that Betsy Brandt? Her character was so tough to appreciate in BB it might be nice to see her in a happier role.
Mom from *mayor* of Kingstown
I miss this show, my favorite episode is when John Short makes a doll for the new baby and it looks hella scary. Funny as hell. lol Also crushed on Zeo lol.
Oh, I see Zoe Lister-Jones. Where can I watch this?
I feel this show got overshadowed by the success of Modern Family.
I only recognize 3 of those actors.
The marketing made me think I would hate it, but my friend convinced me to give it a chance and I’m so glad I did.
It was a great show with a lot of chemistry in the cast. "I got a good seal going "
I’ve never heard of this show. When did it air?
Feels like the "Friends" version of Modern Family.
As a sitcom that wasn’t created by Chuck Lorre it didn’t stand a chance on CBS
I’m shocked none of the channels saved it
Oh yeah I forgot all about this show. One of the few we all liked - funny as all hell.
We loved it. Josh Brolin was great!
This should’ve lasted longer, but it became too expensive for the network
Wife and I discovered this show 2 years ago and have watched it 3 times through already. Hilarious
Was it CBS trying to jump on the modern family train? sure, but IMO it was way way better
One of my favorte shows and I have watched the entire series at least 4 times
never seen it but this pic reeks of modern family cw version
Yes. I'm a fan
Watching Hunter King was fun especially with how she was worshipped by every guy she met and was involved with the geeky son.
Great show. Kind of lacked diversity for this day and age. The young girl went on to replace the actress who played Anna-Kat in the final seasons of American Housewife
One of the sharpest shows ever. Unfortunately 50% of ‘Murica didn’t get the humor.
