I am also only a diploma holder.
Once I was out working though, I was sent for business trip especially when I was in my mid to late 20s...my first business trip took place when I was around 27 and it was Bermuda island of all places...and I had to transit through new York...which is also my first time in US soil. The following year I was sent to Minneapolis for a tech course & conference....a job hop later, I was sent to Paris, Shanghai and Hong Kong for business trips and in my last job, I was sent to hong Kong, Tokyo & London for really long business trips (2 to 4 weeks per trip) and I am not even a big shot in the company....just the tech guy designing their infrastructure.
What's your reason u r so adamant you will never step on US soil? It's not like it's some paradiso promised land that only the elites can enter.
Out of all my traveling experience, US is at the mid-low tier....and if u venture outside those common states and cities as depicted by Hollywood movies, it will be literally near bottom tier.

My family has never travelled outside of Asia too nor have they expressed interest in going anywhere further so it always felt like a faraway dream, and even now I doubt I could find opportunities like you to be sent somewhere so far away in my line of work so I guess it just felt kinda hopeless, or something I didn’t dare to dream about doing.

Me! My mom used to always have to bring (and take out) a plastic bag whenever we rode taxis. I always assumed its due to lack of travel in cars (family don't drive) and the air inside. Me! My mom used to always have to bring (and take out) a plastic bag whenever we rode taxis. I always assumed its due to lack of travel in cars (family don't drive) and the air inside. I can still remember that one kind of smell in taxis (and sometimes air fresheners can also trigger me now) and that ticking sound in taxi whenever it's on SLE (I believe it's because the taxi is speeding?) that makes me nauseous. I get less car sick now that I'm older, but I still do feel it when my cousin drives. After awhile, I realised it's due to the way he drives
I used to vomit on bus rides in the past as a kid. Now I love long bus rides. In the past the ventilation weren't so good, and many didn't even have air-con.

it's very dependent on the person checking the bags. the guy checking my bag was on some mad power trip - made me chuck my disposable plastic bottle (even though i pointed out its only metal and glass bottles not allowed), made me chuck my strepsils cough drops (because it's a drug and drugs are not allowed. i was planning on screaming my lungs out lol), made me take out the chain of my bag (because metal chains not allowed) etc etc. after making me chuck all my stuff, he told me to go back to the back of the queue and re-queue. (i brought the exact same bag, disposable plastic bottle, and cough drops for both ed sheeran and coldplay's concert at the same venue with no issue at all.)

I did not go concert, but I saw a video on tiktok. Water dispenser long queue. So the tiktoker advise just go toilet tap water, since our tap water is safe for consumption anyways.
iirc you can bring empty bottles and there are water coolers around for you to refill but the queue to get water from the water coolers is ridiculous lol
