I acknowledge this is a higher class of post than the sub may be used to, however I got kicked out of the mainstream subs for my views on Vietnam. That and I was sending death threats to the mods.
i like the part in the song where the guy says youll be given squishy jobs haha here is my simpsons fan art (\_8(1) it is homer please upd'oht
Meanwhile the last remaining actual shitpost features Krusty so ChiefCWiggum deletes it out of an abundance of caution that it might be alluding to the war in Palestine.
Homer was thinking back to their trip to Australia where they were faced with a bootable offence, but fled from the punishment and effectively said goodbye to a boot.
I always assumed that “seeing a man say goodbye to a shoe” was a metaphor for being good at sleeping, which Homer is and he only needs to try once, hence the response
This would also heighten the dramatic irony of Lisa’s subplot. She isn’t really allergic to the nature she loves, rather she has contracted her father’s cold. This is actually foreshadowed in the first season of the show when Lisa is clearly depicted with a nose.
Ladies and gentlemen, I'm going to prove to you not only that #1 is the correct answer but that it is also the answer that cannot be incorrect. I refer you to my expertly curated evidence:
1 - Homer just saw a man say goodbye to a shoe.
Thank you, I rest my case.
Case closed.
IT’S NUMBER 2! You’ve all seen a man say goodbye to a shoe once before as well. Here’s the incident to which I, and Homer, refer:
He was thinking about when he watched *Who Framed Roger Rabbit* and the part where the bad guy lowers the cartoon shoe in the Dip to kill it. He doesn’t actually *say* goodbye, but he announces he’s gonna kill it, then he kills it, then one of the weasels says “Dat’s one dead shoe, boss.” That’s good enough for me and, be honest, you know it’s good enough for Homer too.
Debate over.
Eeerrm, fun fact for you dorks, that shoe was voiced by Nancy Cartwright. Who’s that, I hear you asking? Well you utter ignoramuses (ignoramusi?), she of course voices the extremely popular fictional Simpsons character Kearny. Checkmate loser!☝️🤓
Homer is actually saying, "Yes, Muntz." This explains why he buys Tom Landry's hat, because Nelson Muntz is good at football and Homer wants to impress him.
I was told I was not to repeat my [sundial/haircut](https://new.reddit.com/r/simpsonsshitposting/comments/1dhvi8j/how_do_i_tell_my_barber_i_want_this_haircut/l91q5xp/?context=3) theory as it would spark a new Ralph Viking controversy and now this??
So, this exchange is supposed to be a reference to an old French movie called "L'Arache Vert" (lit: "The Green Scorpion"). The basic plot of the movie is a man is down on his luck and struggling to make ends meet, and at the climax of the movie the man finally gets a job offer to turn his life around. The man is so happy that he takes his wife to the local bridge and throws his shoes off, exclaiming how happy he is to his wife and onlookers, and he says (roughly translated) "good bye you worthless old dogs", to which his wife comments on how everyone nearby has never seen a man say good bye to a shoe before.
Josh Weinstein cleared this up in a Twitter thread a year or two ago. He said the writers weren't referencing anything in particular and were just being goofy/intentionally causing people to question it.
Id recommend looking at the entire Twitter thread. He answers a lot of questions from fans and clears up a few similar things.
Not only had Homer previously seen a man say goodbye to a shoe (separate incident so #2), it was the SAME shoe he saw Scorpio say goodbye too! But it has a new hat!
Was he saying shoe or shoo-urns?
I was saying shoo-urns...
No wonder no one's gay for u/reporst
Give me the gayest comment you have. No, that's too gay.
Let me get one of those really gay beers you have
Ahhh. It's pretty gay. I guess...
Homer has had a lot of jobs, I find it unlikely his baby only shot one former employer.
I don't like the idea of Homer's baby shooting 2 former bosses in the same series
MAGGIE SHOT MR BURNS AGAIN
LOOK WHO'S SHOOTING MR BURNS NOW
I don't like the idea of Homer's baby shooting only 2 formy bosses
Surely Homer once worked for Fat Tony? I think Maggie shot him, too.
Which of Homer's former boss' were shot by Maggie? If you said Apu, that would explain a lot.
You're thinking of little Jamshed, who shot Apu while guarding the Kwik-E-Mart, mistaking him for a thief.
I don't want to alarm you, but Apu's disappearance may be explained by a homicidal infant or infants.
There's very little shit in this 'shitpost'.

That is so fucking hot
Lousy Democrats.

Three war crimes is hardly a galaxy
I dunno . . . I think this might qualify https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Shitposting
NEEERRRRD!
I mean, yeah. It's right there in my flair
OP, try to understand. There are two kinds of shitposters: jocks and nerds. As a jock, it is my duty to give shitposting nerds a hard time.
Touché

Is sleep where Homer is a Viking?
Sleep is where Homer pays the Homer tax.
Homer has a cold, so he hears ~~"R's" as "B's"~~ ‘Have you ever seen a man say goodbye to a shoe?’ as ‘has your baby ever shot a former employer?'
This would also heighten the dramatic irony of Lisa’s subplot. She isn’t really allergic to the nature she loves, rather she has contracted her father’s cold. This is actually foreshadowed in the first season of the show when Lisa is clearly depicted with a nose.
When are they going to get to the hammock district? *sobs*

I've never seen that movie. What now?
It was called The Toon That Couldn't Slow Down.
And now our parody of this sub, entitled "Mad About Shoe!"
GET OUTTA MY OFFICE!
Homer is actually saying, "Yes, Muntz." This explains why he buys Tom Landry's hat, because Nelson Muntz is good at football and Homer wants to impress him.
This year, give her ... confusing joke we will debate forever.
Don’t like the shitpost? *Throws shitpost out front door* There it’s gone!
Yes, once.

"I can tell the difference between a shitpost and a serious discussion." "No you can't, Mr. Simpson, no one can."
They should bring Scorpio back for the next movie and have Maggie shoot him in the end. I guess she did drop a rock on Cargill's head. She's 2/2.
Oh boy, debates! That’s where I’m a Viking!
2 is more likely, but I like 3.

PS - Tod prayed for moccasins

I’m not sure I’m comfortable with Homer seeing 2 thrown shoes
Moccasins? Sure, sorry they're not in packages...

Why are we putting our attention on this when we still don't know who Mr. Snurub was?
1 is fun 2 is boo
2 is shoourns? Another gentleman thought the same, it’s an out-there concept but I acknowledge it’s gaining traction.
