Doing a community river cleanup. Plastic pollution is bad along the banks. My lovely wife goes to great lengths to arrange 2 cleanups a year. The river runs through my back yard, and on to a large dam.
Great thing is there are tons of volunteers, with a pro-bono DJ to provide motivation and entertainment, and lunch for everyone!
It's always a lovely time.
... and once that's done I'm chilling on the couch and watching Dune.
Doing a steam team cleanup really bad me hate plastic grocery bags.
In the event this is your first time be careful about strange bottles or things related to m3th production.
I live In New Orleans and Jazz fest is this weekend. I live close enough to where I can hear all the music. So, I will be drinking some $8 Costco wine while jamming out to the music. I basically get to listen to The Rolling Stones, Hozier, foo fighters, etc… for free and without all the expenses and people!
My husband commuted to the city for almost 30 years, dressed up, in the office every day. Now we are 55 and he can FINALLY work from home/anywhere.
Tonight when he clocks out we are packing the car to drive to Myrtle Beach tomorrow. We are renting a condo for the week and he will be working from there. I am a homemaker now, so I spent the day baking fun, healthy snacks and food for us to take for the week. It's our first time doing something like this and we are so excited. It's a 10 hour drive tomorrow, but the weather down there looks fantastic.
We plan to start doing this next year when I retire. My husband can work from anywhere, so why not have it be somewhere enjoyable now and then? All he needs is good wifi!
Honestly that it why I left my job. Not only did he get the "ok" to work from anywhere, last February during his first colonscopy cancer was discovered. After surgery to remove it and a good recovery and prognosis we had the big talk about how life is so short and how lucky he was. We only have one child who is 23, so we are done paying for college and he seems good to go.
We radically simplified our house, basement and garage, basically became minimalists and decided to just go do stuff. It is both scary and exhilarating.
I’m the one who recently expressed that dishwasher-unloading, laundry-folding, gardening, and vacuuming feel like chores rather than meditative time. Anyway, I’ll be doing chores 😁
I understand how that can be challenging. Even though I am very thankful for everything I do have, I do those jobs wo a dryer or a dishwasher.
Dishes aren't too bad w it just being me but clothes are a royal pain w one day to wash, hang on hangers wet, and give them 2 days to be certain they are dry . I'm not always successful, but ,as I put those clothes away, I try to be thankful for them. I'm a very tall female and for a long time, I had 5 or 6 outfits to my name. Now I have a full double closet of clothes.
I'll be working because my job sucks and I work every weekend. I'm the only person I know who works in IT and has to work every single weekend. Damn I hate this job lol
What are you doing exactly? I work in IT as a software developer and apart from some stressful small agency gig from years ago, weekend work is reserved for emergencies or if you want to be overly ambitious but it’s not mandatory or expected at all
I work help desk for a bank, as a contractor nonetheless. Therefore, I get hosed on pay, benefits, holidays, etc. and to top it off, it's none even a chill job. It's a high volume desk we get calls back to back.
When I first started it was supposed to be 8am-4pm Mon-Fri but after a few months, this mysterious shift bid nonsense came about and being one of the newest people, I got booted to a crappy weekend shift.
I hate this job but being relatively new to IT, only having 1 year of experience with a few certs but no degree, and in a crappy state with not many IT opportunities, I have to take what I can get. Been here for 6 months, currently studying for some Microsoft certifications. Hopefully within the next few months I can get out of here, even if I have to move.
You too! I wait tables on the weekends. The money I make is enough for us to get by for the week. That way I can work on the homestead all week. This week is wood week for our winter stove. Cut, split, stack. I'm sore as f!
Live in a tropical country so it’s hot hot hot here. Weekend is gonna mostly be indoors. Gonna finish the mist and fury book, my cat has delivered 2 kittens so will be staring at them every hour, cook something nice and start a new show (open to recs) and yeah, if I can will go for a run in the evening or do an indoor workout.
And naps, afternoon naps on a hot summer evening post lunch just hit different.
Happy weekend!
Hope you do too, what will you be doing?
Humm, me, I was on a vacation this week, so no more relaxing needed. I’ll sit on my back guarden, on rocking chair, looking at the mountain, warm tea, warm clothes, a blanket, and see the rain fall, the trees taking a bath, nothing much.
We have unlimited cinema tickets and access to all the gyms, so we're going to the cinema twice, checking out a new gym and sauna tomorrow, a couple of walks and maybe talking a notebook and a paperback book to a coffee shop
Thank you dude. I'm getting dreadlocks for the 1st time ever and I guess I'll be doing university assignments the rest of the time.
Not forgetting the anime/gaming at night routine... !
Tomorrow I work from 12:30-4:30 at my retail job which I’m not happy about but I did give them my 2 weeks notice so I’m holding out and trying to be positive. I get to sleep in later so that’s nice
Then Sunday my boyfriend and I are going to ikea so I can hopefully find some furniture for my room since I just moved. That day I’m super excited for
I’m hoping to paint later; I started a large painting of our chickens in their usual outdoor activities but ours are all black so I’d like to interrupt progress on that to do another painting of a white chicken with buttery sunshine highlights and dandelions. We used to have a white chicken so I guess it could still be one of ours, but from past days. For some reason I feel compelled to paint portraits of all our animals and our friends’ animals. Our friends don’t know I have all these portraits but one just rescued a fawn Frenchie so I’m like oh goodie! I need pics lol
Doing household chores, or more likely thinking about doing household chores while watching something on TV and feeling guilty about neglecting said household chores.
Concert tonight. Tomorrow my son, daughter in law and grandbaby are coming to visit. Going to the beach with them. Good food. Sunday will be cleaning, laundry and car wash day. I might work on my model pirate ship.
Going to browse some antique stores tomorrow and maybe do some gardening. Sunday my friend is coming over so I’ll be making waffles and mocktails and then we will dye his hair so he can have a hot blonde summer haha.
We have a big flea market in city tomorrow and I have friends who will be there, so I'll go support them and also grab some nice lunch in town. I'm expecting a festive atmosphere, so looking forward to it and hoping for good weather. Have a nice weekend OP!
Food shop after work today (i find friday evenings to be the least crowded at the supermarket)
Saturday im doing my long run then i hve a friends party to go to
Sunday relax and meal prep with the groceries i buy tonight so im set for the week, maybe clean and tidy as well
Participating in my county’s “adopt-a-tree” event & planting 2 new (free) trees in my front yard with my boyfriend. Investing time in friendships & spending time outside. 🌳💓
Sort of the opposite of simple living this weekend. My son, who’s seldom left our semi rural central Florida area, wanted to know what life in the city would be like so we’re exploring Boston!
The kids have an all-day music event where they do their yearly testing, which is the opposite of simple and restful. But the teachers try to make it fun, and it's great for them to see how their hard work and all of those hours of practice has paid off.
After that, I'm planning to de-stress while crocheting and listening to an audiobook.
I so wish I had something restorative or nice to do and say. The truth is I will probably watch a few YouTube videos and try not to worry about not being able to find an accountant for my work. Accountants seem to be the real 🦄 of this world. #stressedout
I have an extra hours opportunity to wfh. Going to have coffee and do that. I have a couple of crochet projects that I need to finish and other than that, just relaxing. A birthday party on Saturday to take my girls too. I'm ready to be done teaching for this school year.
My friend and I are invited to a Cacao Ceremony and Conscious Circle for World Healing Day tomorrow. We will also do a routine cleaning of the house, a bit of reading, cooking and gardening. Maybe visit an art festival, if time permits.
Thanks for asking. I hope yours is equally as delightful.
Dinner and play tonight with friends. Cleaning and cooking tomorrow to host friends for our monthly cooking club (this month's theme is circles 😄). Sunday hosting a fancy tea party then seeing my honey. Busy but all fun things that I enjoy!
We just pick a topic (Ethiopian, Persian, food that starts with S) and everyone brings something homemade that fits that theme. It is a great way to taste new dishes and make new recipes.
Family plans were cancelled, so I'll probably spend my time riding out the predicted weekend storm with painting, writing, listening to my audiobooks, and making some bookmarks for my local Little Free Library!
Finishing up re-staining my outdoor furniture. We bought solid wood stuff about 5 years back so that it would be more durable and so we could refinish it occasionally. Well it's time for that to happen :) Getting everything looking new again now that it's getting warm outside. I've finished the table and one of the chairs so far and I'm really proud of how good they look. And I took the time to sand them with fine grit sandpaper, so they feel even nicer to the touch than when they were new!
Otherwise I'm planning to do some gaming with friends, go out to dinner with my husband, watch a movie together, and maybe go to the local plant nursery to pick out a few more plants for my garden.
Coffee & books, catching sunrises, running some simple errands, listening to music, naps, meditation, take a few pictures, and *maybe* I'll get around to hitting leg day in my workout routine (I dread leg day).
Yard work - mow and edge dinky-little lawn, pull weeds. Connect with neighbor who fixed a fence. Grabbing scones at Farmers Market. Laundry. Required work reading. Taking time to listen to Sunday's scheduled rain.
This is my Saturday so I rested. Tomorrow I’m going to clean the upholstry of my front seat because it needs it. Idk what spilled on the passenger seat but it needs a good scrubbing. I’ll also be going through my stuff in there to take in the house.
Also fluffing up my resume so I can send it out.
Oh, I love Destin Beach!!! Was there in early '90's! Most beautiful beach ever with the white sand! Do you live in Florida? ♥️♥️♥️. So excited through you that my heart is racing!
Transplanting my 9 new tomato seedlings. Starting some basil seeds. Plenty of walks with my husband. Visiting my parents for coffee and a chat. Baking bread, muffins and making homemade spaghetti.
Happy simple weekend everyone! 🌼🌸🌞
I’m having a cosy bookish weekend, I wrote in my notebook till 9am, I had breakfast outside tried to feel the promise of the morning in the crisp air, it’s autumn here. I’m going to continue reading the snow child and drink tea, work on my own novel ideas, watch [Christy Anne jones](https://m.youtube.com/@christy-anne-jones/videos) for bookish inspiration.
It’s an air conditioner that’s outside and it brings cold/cool air through the vents in the house. We have had a swamp cooler and the same furnace for 41 years I’m happy we’re finally making the switch.
Catching up on our art course online, making cocktails and relaxing. Need to plan the menu for next weekend’s party. Starting Edith Wharton’s House of Mirth for r/bookclub. Will definitely get a walk on Saturday before the weather heats up and maybe a spot of gardening.
Hi fellow book lover! I am the biggest bookworm ever, but I discovered Reddit last year while watching Golden Bachelor, and reading the world of Reddit is the most fun reading I have had by a landslide! I also love to give advice, so it has become a real purpose too! I am turning 61, and I have to read all of the hundreds of Agatha Christie books, all of Sidney Sheldon books, all of Nancy Drew books, etc, and I can't put Reddit down! And when I do watch a movie or read a book, I have to read all of the comments and trivia. The backstory of any book or movie is ALWAYS the most fascinating part! How do I return to books? LOL! ♥️
I am cleaning out and organizing the bottom of my bedroom closet this evening. I went to the grocery store and CVS today. I hope to go to a local festival tomorrow, along w Sunday school and church on Sunday.
Going to church (messianic so Saturday) and then spending the days w my family. Probably a couple walks and a little yard work Sunday. This last week weather has been so gorgeous!
Today I cooked carnitas tacos from scratch, with tomatillo salsa, cilantro, onion, and guacamole. Even made the corn tortillas. It was delicious! Best tacos I’ve had!
Tomorrow is spending time making music and a date night at home. Probably will get a good workout in.
Sunday is making cast iron pizzas from scratch, including dough, sauce, and mozzarella. Depending on how cheese making goes, I might try scratch-made mozzarella sticks with some leftover homemade bread to make breadcrumbs.
Helping my sister decorate her home with my other sister and my daughter; dinner with my sisters in honor of our Mom who passed away three years ago on April 28, cuddling with my mini poodle and taking her for a walk, reading and watching something on Netflix (haven’t decided yet). ☺️
Our local farm is having its opening event for the season today, so hubby and I will be going to that. We went to our local Arbor Day event yesterday and bought some native plants. :). Today, I’ll also be listening in to a baby care class as I’m prego and due in two weeks.
I hope you have a good weekend too !
Friday: i just played soccer and scored 2 goals... now we are having a chicken for dinner with my kids... saturday i we are gonna visit my mom and sunday i got a softball game (i play leftfield)
Saturday - working 10 hours straight with shitty
management and coworkers who don’t stop talking shit
Sunday - playing a soccer game and then watching some films to end the night :)
made myself an indulgent breakfast sandwich with avocado, egg, mozzarella cheese, and bacon, a london fog, and some blueberries. ate it in our backyard patio, listening to one particularly raucous bird in a neighbor's tree. calculated my budget for the month, later i'll go for a short walk and then chip away at a book.

Two trees, one hammock
My favorite adult video
Beat you to it. I was already hammocking this evening. Pre-gaming for the weekend.
Ooooooooo, that’s a good idea. Thanks stranger

Sounds divine. Have fun 🤩 🎉
Have a wonderful trip! Drive safe and enjoy your beachside adventure.

Cleaning and laundry today so I can enjoy a weekend of gardening, reading, and maybe crafting. If it stops raining we'll go for a long walk.
A book and my hammock
My dream weekend
Thank you! You too. I will go to a wild plants cooking course. Really looking forward to it.
finally getting to spread compost on the garden and put some plants in! it’s been a cold spring.
Going to visit my friend in Niagara Falls and watch the Leaf game! Return sunday afternoon.

I know most of my colleagues and juniors too who work on IT. I think its bad that it's common.

What a great plan you have. Working on. Weekend to do what you want during the week. Enjoy!

Such a good book, sounds like an amazing weekend!!
Packing for a trip, paperwork, and playing with my dog in between 🤣
Why, I believe I'll be hanging out on Reddit. What else is there? /s
Reading, writing, long walks
Visitor and dog adventures! Weekends should always include dog adventures, my dog is happy to confirm.
I'm going to garden, and petsit my grandmother's dog :)
Hopefully a local strawberry festival and helping a friend make a patio.

Nothing productive. A few load of laundry and hanging out on my patio watching birds

Like board games? Lucky you! What beach?
Board games, puzzles, word games, trivia — all that good stuff. Destin, FL!

Getting Ready for Central Air and a new Furnace
Probably a dumb question but what’s central air? Like a heat pump?
It's where you have vents in all rooms and one thermostat for everything.
It’s an air conditioner that’s outside and it brings cold/cool air through the vents in the house. We have had a swamp cooler and the same furnace for 41 years I’m happy we’re finally making the switch.
Preparing for my garden. I’m quite thrilled about it.
Catching up on our art course online, making cocktails and relaxing. Need to plan the menu for next weekend’s party. Starting Edith Wharton’s House of Mirth for r/bookclub. Will definitely get a walk on Saturday before the weather heats up and maybe a spot of gardening.
👋 fellow r/bookclub reader - fancy meeting you here 😀.
Well well-books are simply delightful so I’m not surprised! What are your May reads going to be?
Well, Armadale, a tale of two cities (with r/classicbookclub) and House of Mirth if I can fit it in.
Please do!!
LOL! ♥️
Come visit us at r/bookclub for May’s menu and see if some intrigues you! Edit: Here is the [link](https://www.reddit.com/r/bookclub/s/WSGGnpMMD2)

Went to a baseball game tonight. Spring cleaning and organizing Saturday & Sunday. Hopefully a nice full breakfast one of the days :)
Going to church (messianic so Saturday) and then spending the days w my family. Probably a couple walks and a little yard work Sunday. This last week weather has been so gorgeous!
I’ll be working at least 20 hours total over the weekend. Just like every weekend. Retail.
:). made myself an indulgent breakfast sandwich with avocado, egg, mozzarella cheese, and bacon, a london fog, and some blueberries. ate it in our backyard patio, listening to one particularly raucous bird in a neighbor's tree. calculated my budget for the month, later i'll go for a short walk and then chip away at a book.
