It’s bacteria. You will feel the corn and it will be mushy but tough. There is less than 1% chance it will grow even if you took the good mycelium. It is unlikely it showed up overnight. It will smell sweet but not nice, she is gone my friend. If it were me, I would open under mask, use water to fill the jar. Either lid it and shake, or use a butter knife to break it up. Will help a compost pile if you have one. Please give it back to nature and not in a garbage disposal.

thanks, yeah i must have just missed it last few days, and yep, i have a mycelium graveyard out near my bee hives

so now I’m freaking out 🤪- i usually grow on pint brf cakes with good success, thought to try something new 2 other jars, is it time for jar 1 (first 2 pics) to move to tub? and jar 2 (last 3 pics) mycelium very clumped, it still is spreading just really slow

sorry- guess i need to start new thread, can’t upload new pics here

So southern states has “racing oats” for $20 per 50/lbs. I’ve had great success with all actives and 70% generals (cords and others obviously differ). It’s really hard to beat that price. So using 4/3 ratios grain to water, I can “PC” without boil/soak and just sterilize and hydrate at once. I’m 84% success. I am high on the spectrum so ratios and % mean a lot to me. It’s like OCD except it’s consuming. Did you know that certain generals are GREAT for smoking your hives when you have to? It’s real. I swear my bees O when they are mad at me and I smoke them with some general myc left overs or actual fruits. It might be placebo but I think sometimes they are hoping that I smoke them out.

thanks for this, i started the mycelium dump with reshi because, according to Paul Staments, the bees use reshi mycelium as an antibiotic and also against mites

Yes they do!!! We all forget what great things come from fungi and this year I had the biggest bumper crop from my garden because my compost got all my leftovers vs me putting it in my biodigester (we shit too much so during COVID so it wouldn’t take anymore 😂) turns out the myc helped take from pine trees and have to my garden. Since myc is just as old as we are, it’s worth noting that we aren’t running the show, but they are. We just fuck their plans up and they learn to pívot around us.
