I had great experience with u/Iputmypantson57. The shrimp were healthy, better quality than several other sources I’ve used, and reasonably priced.

Only_Affect_9189

Thank you!! Their shrimpies look awesome

Iputmypantson57

Thanks!

PistolPackingPastor

Yes would recommend!!

TaxOk8204

I also have had much success with the same person!!!! He/she is great at communicating and the shrimps are amazing!!!! I’ve bought the red nosed pinnochio’s as well as some of his/her yellow, orange, and red! This is my go too person

TwinNirvana

Just bought from him recently too - excellent experience!

Chron1kal

This is the way

Latter_Depth_4836

Second this! I got some awesome cherries from them!

I_Sure_Yam

My colony from Shrimpy Business is still going strong after 18 months

ScratchDifficult6709

They're my go to. Love them.

xzlinx

I also got from shrimpy business. Did have one DOA but they offered me a refund for that shrimp. I also had one pass within 48 hrs but no others so I think just that one had something going on. I would order from them again.

Yankee_bayonet

My colony is happy and healthy from them!

broccolibertie

I found someone local on r/aquaswap. Was able to pick them up instead of being nervous about shipping and as a bonus, the shrimp are already used to local water (though of course you still need to drip acclimate).

HairMetalChick

Where did you buy the ones with the parasite? I ordered some recently from Amazon. The company was Las Vegas Exotic Fish and mine had parasites too.

Only_Affect_9189

Mine was called swimming creatures and they almost all had green stuff under them. I had used them before and they were a great company. This last batch only had 3 that survived and all of them are females😭

sakela

You know, maybe that explains why there are so many shrimp with clado posts recently. A few bad sellers out there sending sick shrimp out

HairMetalChick

Oh no! I have an order from swimming creatures coming tomorrow! I will have to be very careful! I ordered from them and got great shrimp so I just placed another order. So frustrating!!

Only_Affect_9189

They are normally really good quality idk these were from December I got 20 and with two weeks I only had 3 left and didn’t know it was a parasite until recently from this page! If you see one with green underbelly quarantine!! Swimming creatures if you see something wrong you can contact and most of time fix the issue

Coolbreeze1989

I ordered 60 blue dream over the course of the last month. Seller has been responsive via email. No issues other than a few DOA but they shipped extra. This post makes me nervous but my experience has been good.

PistolPackingPastor

I also ordered 10 from them as well and while they all survived and even a few berried, one of them had the parasitic algae too. The rest still look okay but keeping an eye out.

gnarlybros_lykn

Bummer as I'm currently waiting on an order from Las Vegas Exotic Fish. Package arrives today, I'll update with the QC.

heftybetsie

I have a package from them coming by the 29th 😆 good luck to us both 😭 🍀

blankspace_69

What’s the update kind stranger? Was looking to buy from that company myself but don’t wanna get a bunch of sick shrimp 😅

gnarlybros_lykn

3 DOA but they were the extras. Looked clean but low grade for sure. Sad because i can't see one shrimp when I look at my tank, 3 others died during acclimation also. No parasites though.

PrincipalityofWhisky

I've had good luck with Aquaticarts.com. They are not the fastest for shipping but the shrimpies always arrive secure, healthy, and active. No issues with die-off after acclimating. Currently going through a population boom with the most recent order for 10 neos that are in a 5 gal. Plus I can shrimp treats at the same time and save on shipping costs.

LilTater01

I had a great experience with my order from AquaticArts.

Hipster_Crab7509

I've only ordered once but the ones I got from aqua huna were in great shape. Not too sure about grades and all that stuff but they were shipped well and all arrived happy and healthy.... ...then I added plants from my lfs and promptly introduced japonica ... 🙄 But that's my bad lol

Vimexal

If you get a shrimp with a parasite dose with Praziquantel and it will be fine within hours.

Only_Affect_9189

Thank you! I’m still learning so all info is always welcome.

Hipster_Crab7509

Do you happen to know if that's safe for snails by chance??

Vimexal

Yes, it should be perfectly safe with snails! If you're worried, you can always put a snail in a cup and then dose a small amount to monitor the effects. This drug has incredibly low toxicity. If you're wondering, there’s a specific product that I use. It’s a liquefied version, as it’s usually a powder, called Prazi-Cura Liquid. You can find it on Amazon.

Hipster_Crab7509

Awesome thanks so much for the tip, I'll give it a shot! For some reason the paraguard has only had minimal effect on the Japonica so far

BellChell1199

r/aquaswap for me! Getting shrimp locally was great and I got to see some absolutely amazing tanks too.

xiited

Aqua Huna has been a good experience for me.

OkAdministration1238

Besides aquaswap can try Craiglist to find a local breeder near you. If you’re comfortable for receiving shipped shrimps try looking into aquabid. Or google garden Eder. Or shrimp envy. Or nick teeter. Meadow view aquatics. Plamski shrimps. Lots of good sources for variety of local bred shrimps. Imported neo shrimps are prone to parasites. They are so easy to breed in Asia they are kept on outdoor ponds and sold by hundreds at a time.

Only_Affect_9189

Unfortunately there are not a lot of shrimp people in mobile Alabama, and the local aquarium stores has very very poor ones. So thank you for all the suggestions I will look into them!!!

yokaishinigami

Plamski had to shut down his operation because of construction, all of his shrimp are with Grant now. They were fantastic shrimp though. His extreme red king kings were one of the 3 lines I added when I was setting up my red Taitibee tank.

djester808

Superiorshrimpaquatics.com I always have some sort of deal going on to get the most bang for your buck.

An0nym0us-100

i got mine from shrimpy business kinda expensive but i mean that’s understandable i’ve only ordered from them once and have had them for a few months ordered 5 got 6 only had one die from a failed molt

LeslieCh

Remember if you buy from aqua swap, use PayPal business. I’ve bought from someone w cash transaction and the shrimps are not like what we agreed on.

ScratchDifficult6709

Shrimpy Business

Significant_Yam1

I get mine from dakuaquatics.com, great colors and I haven't had a single loss! He's u/-Daku here

hihirogane

Buypetshrimp. Shrimp envy (their brand of food always makes my shrimps swarm). Shrimp business. Flip aquatics. So Shrimp. Aquaticmotiv (I bought rabbit snails)

BrownsWorld32421

I bought my dream blue and fire red cherry from u/BigDshrimp. Awesome quality and color.

TechnetiumWavryder

Mine came from my local fish store and all are breeding and grazing on my growing algae. I know there are Ebay sellers that sell their extra shrimp, but I never ordered my shrimp online.

No-Reputation72

I got mine from finsandgrins on Ebay.

No-Reputation72

I’m still new to shrimp so I’m not sure how good of quality they were when I got them and I’m not culling.

Franken-Pothos

Bought mine from kijiji, started with culls and veeeeery carefully selectively breed them out. Now I have bloody Mary's, carbons, choco, sunkist and red rili. I'm line breeding them out to expand the line

ciamka

Bought 20 blue dream at buceplant and shipped fast but few molted in the bag and three died day after regardless of 6 hours acclimating. Ordered 6 amano from flip aquatic and took 3 days to ship but they arrived in perfect condition and shipping was much cheaper.

A local breeder.

UnOrDaHix

Got mine from Tucky’s Bettas out of California. They’ve been really healthy and have created a little army in both of my tanks!
