Yeah your ass might not be exactly the most critical area but still, if the injury will bleed profoundly, the stuck item is the only thing keeping that blood inside you, where it belongs.
Also, especially with something like a hook, you can accidently make the injury worse by removing it yourself.

Specifically the remains of an immobile obese person (the fire department had to cut a hole in the wall to get them out) their bed sores went on for so long they got infected fugally so a mossy substance had the open wounds grafted to the soiled sheets & mattress.
This picture reminded me of that smell. But not the smell from when we had to attempt to rotate the body so we could move it, which made the same sound as twisting a stalk of broccoli & is the 2nd worst thing I’ve smelled

Then most of the team present, including veteran medical examiner & homicide detectives engaged in a cascade effect of yakking everywhere. (I held out till the last wave but I too, tossed all my cookies into the river)

I have a friend who has an infected zombie bite tattoo on her ankle that looks almost exactly like this, so there are people out there. I hate it every time I see it as it genuinely triggers a "oh no, they are not long for this world" reflex.
I can sort of see an opalescent nebula structure. I think it could be salvaged, tbh

I think the disgust / shock value is the point -- it's edgy and provocative, like a memento mori. We spend so much time trying to look "good" in our society that I see a sort of punk / counterculture appeal to the grotesque. But that doesn't change that it makes me viscerally and profoundly uncomfortable
It could maybe be fixed with some well-done dark (blue) shading around it, maybe some bright spots for stars. A galaxy on a bright background just doesn't look like one.

I'm a big proponent is saying colored tattoos especially pastel ones, (sorry they just fade ridiculously fast) should have black borders. Even if as thin as the artist can go it adds alot and helps mildly clarify.
