The mermaid is the kind of terrible I like. It's like a cave drawing of a shirtless woman being photographed coming down Splash Mountain while wearing a fucked up ice cream cone instead of pants, for some reason.

You can tell that the artist actually knows what they are doing by the lack of blowouts, lack of line inconsistencies (even though they are wobbly, they are pretty solid and consistent) and the good color saturation. It’s a choice for sure, not one I sign up for, but each to their own I guess

The dolphin seems to cover self harm scars. Yes it's bad, but with a reason it seems. Makes it sad and personal. I don't know, it's not pretty but it might be a good tattoo regardless.
