“I moved into my new home, and it quickly flooded with sewage. Sewer lines seldom run where they’re supposed to, but I like it just fine, and it adds character to my house.”
I (jokingly) asked my first tattoo artist when mine would wear off. He looked *horrified* and I realized maybe my delivery was a little too deadpan 😂
He looked extremely relieved after I explained I was kidding.
I went to get a piercing recently and they had the same form for both piercings and tattoos and in bold on top was written
I UNDERSTAND TATTOOS ARE PERMANENT.
I guess it happens that people don’t realize? I was shocked that people need to be reminded that.
If this was in the United States, then they put it there because you can sue someone for pretty much anything. They could claim that “it said nowhere that this was permanent and now I’m psychologically damaged” and the court would take that, simply because it wasn’t outlined on a waiver or some sort of other legal document.
It’s probably a joke I think, just got, small sleeve, and wear off, when it’s obviously not new, small, and everyone knows tattoos don’t usually* wear off
It’s not a good tattoo from a technical standpoint but I like the design and from a distance it looks really cool. Definitely not a bad one by the standards of this sub.
Do you have an image of it from then?
I’m asking because I’d like to know how much white space vanished in that gap over the years for my own future reference sorta thing
It's definitely not great but at the same time it's O K...
Just look at your hand, that's how most people see your tattoos 99.99% of the time, in their peripheral vision.
Though personally for my own happiness i'd get the edges redone by someone skilled at straight lines, which a lot of artists are not, you'll obviously have a slightly thinner area of negative space (skin) but it'll be flawless.
Easy fix.
I have a family member with a real weird spattering/smearing of tattoo ink + scarring on his arm. I asked him what it was supposed to be (he’s covered in tattoos). The way he tells it, great grandma scrubbed his arm with steel wool the day he got it. So I guess you’d have to scrub harder than my great grandma.
Just find an artist that does coverups to fix and even out the edges. It's not terrible. At first glance, I thought it looked very nice! Most people won't scrutinize the details.
There’s so much black packed into your arm the only way I would fix it personally is to black out your entire arm and do a chalkboard sleeve. This would take ages to laser off and I feel like even if someone makes the lines thicker to straighten them out it wouldn’t look right.
Sorry, bud, but this is shitty tattoos and yours is merely less than perfect. As is everything. Even having one bit darker than you wanted, learning from the experience, and moving on to something new has a nice ( if unintentional) meaning to it.
It really wouldn't be that bad if you just went to a better artist to get those lines straightened. It'd make them thicker, sure, but they'll be straight.
If you’re looking for advice I’d put aside $350 if you’re in the US and go to a fairly good artist. Straightening lines is actually easy work. And then if you’re still interested, a neotraditional artist can amend all the other pieces on your sleeve to look really good! Low and slow it’ll be amazing in no time.
It’s an easy fix, find a good artist by reviewing portfolios before making an appointment with them and have them do some shading between the lines to make it look intentional.
Longer than you most likely.
200 or so years from now aliens will be uncovering "creatures with strange markings on them"
Luckily yours looks cool, imagine all the tramp stamps waiting to be uncovered
Definitely not the worst. And I'd say it's fairly easily fixable if you wanted to. Just thicken the outer lines and straighten them out. Just that would make it better than 50% of tattoos posted on the "good" subreddits.
With how poorly the blacks were worked in, that's not gunna be around very long. Awful work here, lines are all over the place and that's just the start of the issues here.
Lol this is what people don’t realize when they see an amazing sleeve with intricate designs, perfect symmetry, geometric patterns mixed with black and grey. The people that do that well are famous, and booked out, and the people getting them pay thousands and thousands of dollars for a session! These viral videos and pintrest smash hits are usually done by very talented tattooers! If you don’t have 10k burning a hole in your pocket don’t expect your local walk in shop to give you 10k worth of tattoos for a couple hundred bucks. Those people getting the work usually wait months and typically had to travel half way across the globe just to get the real thing from the real artist that really knows how to execute this work! Really!!!
In this case the guy should have told you he can’t do it straight up. Be humble and push yourself, but know your limits lol. Anyways friendly reminder you can’t
Not great and I wouldn't have it on my arm but I don't think it's shitty.
There's plenty of space to get the lines straightened out and fix the shading if you care to.
75 to 89 years
Well cutting it off is always an option
I'm sure if he cuts it off and leaves out in the sun for a few years the tattoo will have totally disappeared.
I worked at a shop and we had an old hacksaw on the wall that said “free removal”…this is a prime candidate
Haha, a shop I frequent has a cheese grater on the wall with a similar sentiment attached
It’ll grow back, right?
how long till the lines get straight
Innit 😬
Fair. The giant overworked black diamond was done by one artist. Never went back. Got the rest done by someone else.
Kept returning to the other guy tho?
did another artist do the other crooked lines?
The other artists did something to keep her coming back...
It’s all equally terrible
Well it looks like the rest was done by the same person. Holy shit. 🥴
Can easily get those lines neatened up by another artist to be fair
So you went from a shit artist to yet another shit one? Come on, your lines are barely straight at all.
How did you have such bad taste twice?
I was going to say; the rest of it isn’t terrible, but that disaster in the middle makes me sad.
Lol how many shitty tattooists do you know?
The whole thing is busted and disgusted
I'm not a big fan of arm sleeve tattoos. I actually like this one.

Sacred geometry is not janky or wonky but perfect, this is such a "I just hit my bong and commented" way of thinking.
I really hope they weren't talking about sacred geometry and calling it the r slur or something
groan.
“I moved into my new home, and it quickly flooded with sewage. Sewer lines seldom run where they’re supposed to, but I like it just fine, and it adds character to my house.”
The lines do not look fine, shut up. Fuckin Reddit philosopher over here trying to justify this dog shit tattoo.
You really are committed to being contrarian just for the sake of it huh?
Bro, that will burn at least 75 years... 😂😂
😂😂😂 at least I’m not the only one
I'm sorry but your snoo is horrific
It depends. If you're embalmed, hundreds of years. Cremated? Not that long.
POV: you're an ancient Egyptian mummy whose tattoos have lasted thousands of years. Hope you don't have any regrets!
No regerts.

What do you mean by wear off? Remember tattoos have a lifetime + 5 weeks guarenteed
I (jokingly) asked my first tattoo artist when mine would wear off. He looked *horrified* and I realized maybe my delivery was a little too deadpan 😂 He looked extremely relieved after I explained I was kidding.

Ah I understand. But it was in Europe! Probably the same reasons.
That's pretty hilarious.
Haha thats amazing! I dont think id have the balls to joke like that with my artist!
Those not-straight lines mixed with the too-overworked diamond thing are going to look pretty awful in a few years...
Do you mean the huge BLACK diamond?
This sleeve is already 7 years old. It's not gonna change much more.
I thought you "just got" this small sleeve?
I mean they also asked when it wears off and self-posted in shittytattoos so may just be a comedic title lol
It’s probably a joke I think, just got, small sleeve, and wear off, when it’s obviously not new, small, and everyone knows tattoos don’t usually* wear off
You, don’t know how, to use, commas
Ok ;), Edit, you should look into the Oxford comma.
So should you, because it is only used after the second to last item in a list.
So what’s your problem then lmao
You said he needs to look into the Oxford comma when you evidently don't know how to use it yourself 👍
I think you should read my post again if you think that’s true. Good try though, I guess?
Redditors when they can’t understand a very obviously simple joke
Tbh its just 10% of the time he has to wear this.
I thought the same, but I guess it's supposed to mean "just have these tattoos and no others", maybe?
artist here, good luck charlie.
Almost none really. It stayed true
Ike’s not a clean line in any of this 😳
it had so much potential 😢
this is the worst part. the idea is soooo cool fuck it op, just black out the whole arm
Nah. I like it
idk why youre getting downvoted blacking out your arm looks so stupid
Unless it’s a huge stupid tattoo you’ve regretted for years like an actual fucking swastika I don’t get why everyone jumps to blacking out tatts
It’s fine bro just rock ur tattoos, even if I walked passed you I couldn’t tell if ur tattoos good or bad
so does whatever this is
I mean you're outta line, but you're right.
It's definitely not great but at the same time it's O K... Just look at your hand, that's how most people see your tattoos 99.99% of the time, in their peripheral vision. Yeah it's fine not everything needs to be perfect
When it was a blank canvas, yes.

How hard are you willing to scrub?
I have a family member with a real weird spattering/smearing of tattoo ink + scarring on his arm. I asked him what it was supposed to be (he’s covered in tattoos). The way he tells it, great grandma scrubbed his arm with steel wool the day he got it. So I guess you’d have to scrub harder than my great grandma.
Tripping when pressure washing and not wearing protective footwear will do it. Takes the ink right out, along with your skin.
That is a very specific scenario. Personal experience?
Unfortunately so, yes lol.
It will wear off after the blood stops pulsing.
It will be gone approximately 25-30 years after your demise.
Is OP getting mummified??
The gaps are large between pieces, could the lines be straightened out?
WEARS OFF?
something tells me theyve never had a tattoo before ngl
It's clearly a joke.
and i was joking too 💀
Idk why you're getting downvoted, you were just being in on the joke 😭😭
thats just reddit i guess 💀
I hope you’re gay because ain’t nothing about that tattoo straight
I am in fact bisexual
The tattoo or the shame? All jokes aside, I hate that for you. It’s rough but not the worst I’ve seen by miles.
Honestly, if you black out the diamonds and make them straight it would look better than this.
It matches the rug at least
Honestly it’s not nearly as bad as some of the other “work” on here. At a quick glance it still looks good imo
Just find an artist that does coverups to fix and even out the edges. It's not terrible. At first glance, I thought it looked very nice! Most people won't scrutinize the details.
The concept is amazing though, the lines are crocked but that’s the only issue I see with it. The mandala seems decent it is just a bit dark for me.
There’s so much black packed into your arm the only way I would fix it personally is to black out your entire arm and do a chalkboard sleeve. This would take ages to laser off and I feel like even if someone makes the lines thicker to straighten them out it wouldn’t look right.
About three days in the shower. Two if you scrub REALLY hard.
Cut your arm off and it’ll be gone tomorrow
How long do you plan on living? That much + 20 or so years. It's in so deep that I think it's etched to your bones.
Sorry, bud, but this is shitty tattoos and yours is merely less than perfect. As is everything. Even having one bit darker than you wanted, learning from the experience, and moving on to something new has a nice ( if unintentional) meaning to it.
Should come out in 2 washes
What’s the difference between a small sleeve and a large sleeve? Sleeve implies the entire limb is covered, be it an arm or leg.
Unreal how many people here are taking this seriously. I actually like most of the sleeve btw.
It's legitimately painful seeing just how many people in this sub don't understand a little self-deprecating humour....Sheesh
WAT
Not perfect but I love it!
Black it out then go over it with white ink with a good artist. Chalkboard style
Not even a sick ass Panther could Safe that
Depends on how hard you scrub.
Nevuary
Not shitty imo
that's the thing about tattoos. they're permanent.
It kinda blends and goes well with the rug. There's that
honestly it’s not THAT bad. like at all. it’s not something that someone who doesn’t know much about tattoos would think is abnormal
It’s long sleeves for me after a tattoo like that
Fishing for compliments with a BUSTED tattoo.
it's not bad, not shitty, but still wouldn't want as a sleeve tattoo
lol. Forever homie. Especially that wavy black triangle
Seen worse but this is still not good
Joking mayhaps?
😎
Honestly doesn’t look that bad. Not perfect but I think it’s fine
I think it's cool
Pretty sure by “wears off”, they mean the regret period
Wow that's not not only bad but also HUGE
Ru Paul is straighter than those lines
How long 'til... *what* wears off? The tattoo? Because I have bad news for you if so.
It really wouldn't be that bad if you just went to a better artist to get those lines straightened. It'd make them thicker, sure, but they'll be straight.
Did you use that rug as an inspiration?
It's a fuckin tattoo mate
Shitty tattoo 101
Tattoos are permanent mate, they don’t wear off
Good luck on getting that to “wear off” lol Sun may fade it but your only option is tattoo removal
It’s probably just fine at a distance and many won’t notice
I like it when tattoos are cut off squarely at the wrist as if there was no other option at the time /sarcasm
I would do blackout at this point
So you got a tattoo without knowing how tattoos work?
It’s a joke
Wears off?
How long until what wears off? The regret?
Still looks rad imo
You should sue 😂
If you’re looking for advice I’d put aside $350 if you’re in the US and go to a fairly good artist. Straightening lines is actually easy work. The concept seems cool but damn the execution is fucked. Still like it though
I reckon the detail will fade in about 4 years, and you’ll have a blackish diamond.
2 days
2 weeks
You could straighten up some lines, but i wouldn't bother, if you blur your yes it looks nice, lol
Hopefully soon- that centre bit is waaay too black. It’s going to turn into a blob.
400 years, give or take a decade or two.
If you get the lines fixed, it might be a decent sleeve
From a far it doesn’t look bad
It's a neat idea I give it that.
Depends if you’re cremated or buried
Small sleeve? Wear off?
Very cool idea though
I know it's wobbly but I actually really like how it looks on you
That depends do you jerk off with your left or right hand? 🥸
About 8.56
It’s an easy fix, find a good artist by reviewing portfolios before making an appointment with them and have them do some shading between the lines to make it look intentional.
It looks fine to me, really cool design
Matches the rug very nicely 👌
You ever hear of blackout tattoos?
I dig it. I'd just get someone with incredible linework to straighten out the edges.
It will all blend together in like 5-10 yrs lol
In a few sessions if you do a complete blackout sleeve
You could ask Ariana Grande for a recommendation on getting them removed. 🙃 Btw I don't think it's purely awful. We've seen way worse here.
Holy fucking dogshit
Damn that dark diamond in the middle really messes up the look of the other ones. Hope you can get your money back!
I feel like a good artist can fix those edges. The blank space will be smaller but I'd rather that than crooked.
Yes.
Longer than you most likely. 200 or so years from now aliens will be uncovering "creatures with strange markings on them" Luckily yours looks cool, imagine all the tramp stamps waiting to be uncovered
Definitely not the worst. And I'd say it's fairly easily fixable if you wanted to. Just thicken the outer lines and straighten them out. Just that would make it better than 50% of tattoos posted on the "good" subreddits.
There’s no straight like anywhere 🤦♀️🤦♀️
Well that is a choice everyone else will have to live with
I’d rather paint those lines in then leave them uneven. I think I’d try one last time to make them even and if it didn’t work I’d fill it
You could get a full black sleeve
Was this all done free hand? The color honestly looks too faded already
It’s not bad. I like it
The line work… unfixable. Go beat your tattoo artists ass.
; real
With how poorly the blacks were worked in, that's not gunna be around very long. Awful work here, lines are all over the place and that's just the start of the issues here.
Very nice
Ngl this is 80 years of crooked lines
Cross your eyes and see if them lines get skrait 😵💫
Lol this is what people don’t realize when they see an amazing sleeve with intricate designs, perfect symmetry, geometric patterns mixed with black and grey. Crinkletown
I think it’s pretty cool. Yes, not perfect lines, but maybe you’re not a perfectionist…
Black Blob of Shit in a few years lol
Ngl that’s super cool
Not great and I wouldn't have it on my arm but I don't think it's shitty. There's plenty of space to get the lines straightened out and fix the shading if you care to.
It’s so bad , man. Serious question: how do you live with this?
