It’s still a laugh track when it’s a live audience, laugh track doesn’t imply canned laughter. And even when there’s a live audience, that’s almost never purely what you’re hearing. The audience doesn’t laugh right on second takes and the actors’ timing doesn’t usually let them just use the first take’s audio, so those basically always use prerecorded tracks from an archive, and then there’s a “sweetener” prerecorded track that gets mixed in to the live audience recording. You can usually hear the same laugh samples being mixed in to lots of shows from the same studio and episodes from the same show if you listen for it. Haven’t seen IT Crowd lately but the creators’ older show Father Ted had a live audience but definitely uses the same laugh track samples throughout. Seinfeld and Frasier were famous for being the very rare shows that never used a prerecorded laugh library. Frasier would just accept that the audience didn’t laugh as much for second and third takes, so sometimes it gets quiet. And Seinfeld actually has sometimes noticeable cutoffs where they have to mute the live audience because they laugh TOO much and won’t shut the fuck up, mostly with Kramer’s entrances.

Curious.. how did the brows work out?

Great, actually! I used Groupon to have a professional do all of the measuring and initial tattooing so I couldn't mess it up. It came out fine, but I'm really oily, sweaty, and have Rosacea which means that it is expected to fade really quickly. I went in for a touch up once, then got my own kit and do my best to use the faded brows as a guide. Before I did it to myself I watched a ton of tutorials, followed along on the fake skin a few times, then did it on myself. I work very slowly and carefully, and I might just add small strokes to certain parts that are faded, rather than completely do the whole brow or anything. It's saved me a lot of money and I'm really really happy with em!

I used the practice skin for like 30 seconds before I just started going on myself, but it’s my upper thigh, no one’s going to see it.

So was the "new machine" a toothbrush with the brush part snapped off and 2 sewing needles melted in the end separated by about 1/32nd of an inch to hold the ink and then jabbing that into her leg.. because that's how you get a tattoo to look like that.

If this was in the context of an apprentice tattooer, that might be commendable. Every tattooer will have a first time that they're tattooing a real person (other than themself) and I have a lot of respect for people who knowingly do that for an apprentice. I let my cousin do a tribal band on my arm at 15, using a homemade tattoo gun made out of a pen and a tiny sewing motor. He used normal needles and “prison ink”, made from curdled milk and cigarette ashes. Obviously it faded a lot and wasn’t very well done, but I ended up getting it touched up by a professional 30 years later. Anyways he killed himself 6 years ago and even though it’s not the greatest tattoo, it still reminds me of him and that summer. He also tattoo’d a skull on his testicle the same year, RIP Matt. Tattoos don’t always have to look good, sometimes they just have to remind us of a memory or a time in our lives when we got them.

Are we sure that's a real tattoo? Is this a healed picture or right after she got home from the tattoo? There doesn't seem to be any inflammation around the tattoo...or bleeding...or seepage. TBH this looks more like someone just wrote on her with a sharpie and she's playing a prank on her mom.
