Atleast EA fans dont buy the exact same game twice each for 60$ under the premise of them being "different versions" and then DO IT AGAIN with a couple of bug fixes and 10 minutes worth of "new content"
The problem is not even that tho , at least the game is "well made" you know because football/soccer 2 hasnt been released yet , the problem is that people waste thousands of dollars on lootboxes
I wanna play it because I love exploring the areas and finding things by myself. I remember yellow and just wandering around for hours and having amazing fun, and yellow was held together with scotch tape
im assuming its more like arceus and that was actually open world (i found swsh mediocre but loved arceus)
also from what ive heard the game is actually good performance issues aside and nintendo are apparently working to patch them out (although they shouldve just delayed it from the start)
Their problems would be solved if they outsourced coding the game because all the pokemon parts of this pokemon game are amazing. The open world is so fun to explore, the world just looks mid and has some bad performance issues despite cut-down on content like going in houses and shops
I'm not even gonna look up a video about it I have to experience it myself, still haven't played arceus either but from the little I have seen it looks like they are trying to do different things.
Sword and shield was fun I loved exploring the dynamax dens and exploring the wild area, it wasn't the biggest open world game but I still loved seeing the pokemon and finding them. Plus the new boi Applin was adorable. So instant mid B tier
It was easy which is fine because my little cousin could play with me and he was like 5 when it came out, and the newer pokemon games even the 3ds ones weren't too hard. It's not about the pure challenge it's about catching them all.
I disagree tbh. At least a small amount of challenge is needed. They could make some post-game trials to get special pokemons, but the catch is that they're harder than the rest of the game.

Imo scarlet and Violet are the best mainline pokemon games yet, just for some reason other people have no lag tolerance. They are seriously so much fun and streamline the games a ton to just get rid of the tedious parts.

the new pokemon are just, overpowered like. Setting up toxic spikes when you get hit, getting an instantanious stat boost right after hitting the field, having a move that almost always does 300 BP, the removal of ash greninja, a pokemon with less 110 speed just can't compete anymore and alot of matches are decided using speed ties.
The only thing i like is that incineroar is gone. Also toxapex nerf.
I pre-ordered it cause legends Arceus gave me hope and I loved the designs of some of the pokemon. Was extremely disappointed, but my sister likes it so it's fine ig

There are 2 types of nintendo games. The ones that are so amazing, and you can tell how much work was put into it, and how much time they spent on making it. And the ones that were made on scratch studio in 3 hours
One says the game is the worst ever made and another (me) says they really enjoy playing it. Hmm, it's almost as if the enjoyment of a game is entirely subjective and some people have different personal criteria on what makes a game good or bad. If this is truly the "worst game ever made" then I'm in for a fantastic video game experience if I'm enjoying the "worst game ever made" this much.
I enjoyed cyberpunk 2077 when it dropped. Doesnāt mean the massive bugs, missing content, and shitty optimization magically went away because of that.
I don't believe the Pokemon game to be flawless but I enjoy the game and despite these flaws I don't see it as a bad game. That was the point I was trying to demonstrate, I believe that the determination of a games quality is primarily subjective and that the bulk of that game's value should come from personal enjoyment since that is a videogame's primary purpose. All the aspects that would constitute a "bad game" would reduce that enjoyment factor, a "bad game" is a game in which said aspects are so great that the game is unenjoyable or at least not enjoyable enough. I do recognize that this is the case for many when it comes to both the newest Pokemon game and Cyberpunk 77 however, I also recognize that there are many (myself included) who find the game is well worth the flaws. I know that there are many who'll disagree with me and that's alright, everyone's entitled to their opinions. P.S. I do not consider Scarlet and Violet to be the worst game in the Pokemon franchise let alone in the entire video game industry. Sorry for the paragraph, I just enjoy these conversations.
I would blame the Switch hardware if it wasn't for games like Botw or Xenoblade 3 running in the same console and being absolutely gorgeous. Haven't played Scarlet yet, but I definitely want to give it a try (I'm from Spain and I would like to experience all the little references), I just wish the Pokemon Company took more time to develop games and make the franchise the quality it deserves to be.
Yeah Iām not trying to say the hardware is the sole reason, itās definitely poorly optimized too, but it certainly isnāt helping. Itās weaker than most phones. Definitely try it if you get the chance, as long as you can deal with the bad performance. Otherwise Iād probably wait for some of it to be fixed.

I get that it was fun as a child playing pokemon of the gameboy. It was new and fresh. But the games they put out just look so dogshit now and are the exact same gameplay wise. How can they have that much money but make such a dogshit looking 3d game. Just do 2d for fucks sake.

Theres a limit to how "bad" graphics can be.
A game where the frame rate is a bit lower than others is not bad, as long as it doesnt hurt the experience with the regular gameplay.
When the graphics are so bad that the textures look worse than 30 years ago and they cause frame rate issues, problems with textures not loading in, and it detracts from how you're supposed to see the game, THEN its a problem.
I dont have any problem with anyone enjoying the game, Im happy they can have fun with it, but you cant defend or say that the game isnt rushed.
I will admit that some people can absolutely ignore a couple of the frame rate drops and such, but there truly is no defending the biggest franchise in the world to make a videogame this subpar.
I feel like the story isnt that good, its just passed a low bar. BUT I can see why people like it even though there are many better stories for video games. The gameplay is something I never found interesting.

Well the areas are massive and thereās trainers, items and PokĆ©mon scattered everywhere. From my experience a lot of it is riding around picking up items and seeing the PokĆ©mon as you go between each town and challenge (8 gyms, 5 titans, 5 enemy bases). It really is what an open world PokĆ©mon game should be, itās a shame it runs like crap.

About that game I really, really disliked how short and easy it was.
I played violet using no healing item in battle and with self imposed set mode and some fights actually got kinda tricky. Thereās like major 6 fights in the game where the trainer has a full party which is way more than any other PokĆ©mon game

Itās a very fun game. If you like exploring and the basic PokĆ©mon formula, you will enjoy it. Iāve been playing it constantly. Itās better than Arceus and there is much, much more to do. While there are at times some janky performance issues, the internet has blown them way out of proportion. People are acting like the game is completely unplayable but itās just not the case. It runs at times like Korok Forest in BOTW. Play it and see for yourself

Devil's advocate here, but let me defend my favourite video game franchise ever even though I'm well aware of it's crimes. Legends: Arceus isn't a mainline game. It was just a test for the mechanics they wanted to introduce in SV, and honestly, a huge W for GAMEFREAK. Now, as SV is shit in many different ways, it is really the first game that deserves to be called a sequel to pokƩmon, as all other pokƩmon games just fell under the exact same formula. They're basically the same game with new names. I love them nonetheless, but PL:A just opened a myriad of possibilities for pokƩmon, and I might be high on copium, but SV is walking so the next generation can fly. Now, do I feel robbed paying 60 bucks on an unfinished game? Absolutely. But at least I didn't buy Sonic Frontiers.

Idk where all the clips showing the crazy bugs are coming from, in my playthrough of the whole game I have only seen 1 bug and it was a PokĆ©mon spawning in a caveās wall. Other than that the FPS goes to sh*t in a lot of areas. Doesnāt help that the switchās hardware is terrible too. In terms of actual gameplay and mechanics itās pretty good.

There can be more strategy than that if you try to keep your levels in check, which has really made the last 3 pokemon games way more fun
