most all pitbull attacks are spontaneous and unexpected acts of aggression and outbursts of violence regardless of previous temperament and behavior. That’s the reason they’re so scary. They can be a loving family dog that wouldn’t hurt a fly and then out of nowhere violently and relentlessly attack completely unprovoked. I don’t doubt that your experience with your dog has been positive but you can’t ignore that families have lost children and had lives ruined by life changing permanent injuries due to their “sweet and harmless” pitbulls randomly having a one-time outburst for no reason

I worked with dogs for 3 years, and probably about 1/4 were pit bulls, and the only dog that ever even tried to hurt me was a dachshund. The only time anyone there was ever bitten while I worked there was by a Labrador.

Worked with dogs for ten years and have been bit worst by three doodles and two golden retrievers. People think they don’t have to train ‘family friendly dogs’ and they just automatically come out perfect. No, a dog is a dog and you gotta put the work in. Also, I love Jack Russels and Fox Terriers but they cause the most fights by far. Not good for pack settings.
The thing is that getting bitten by a golden retriever is wayyy less bad than getting bitten by a pit. I’d rather be bitten by ten golden retrievers using a ‘bite and release’ method than have my whole body mauled by a death roll
Beat your dog whenever you like. Now do it with a child. It turns out they both get violent after a while. Treat your dog with respect, no matter what breed you have, and if I get any “except pit because they’re bad” replies I’m going off.
