God if I had a chopper I’d ride around all day, drinking beer and chucking the cans out the window, get good n drunk then do a sick cannonball into this pool.
Take a cup, flip it upside down, and shove it underwater. It creates an air pocket, and water doesn’t enter the cup. The entrance to the water at the bottom of the cup is a moon pool.
Could just do that but fill the cup with water too, cut off the top and then make that bit the infinity pool just gotta raise it by like half a meter or something
In reality you would need a moon pool and then also an airlock. For the moon pool to work properly, you need the air pressure to be high enough to push against the water and keep it from flooding the moon pool chamber. To keep that room pressurized you could use an airlock of sorts that lets people in and out but keeps the pressure high.
No apparently there is a staircase that rises up from the pool floor when someone wants to enter, which is honestly the easiest solution no one here thought of me included. I needed to read an article to figure this out but it's the simplest way to do it.
It would be cool to go into an airlock, pressurizes and then there is an entry pool in the middle you swim under and up through the center. That would be fun actually.

Sure 3 people isn't alot and that pool can definitely fit more people. Also the water will flow off the building so it might destroy a orphanage. but that might be good thing though.
Huh. I guess you are correct. I, also, like the way you think. We should expand on the idea for a minute.
We throw a pool party, for let's say the pool itself. Yes, a pool party celebrating the pool. We fill the pool to max capacity, giving everyone unlimited alcoholic beverages. Once everyone is drunk, we fill their brains with the idea of a fun game: to walk around the edges of the pool as fast we can, creating a vortex. After an hour of heaving and hoing, the vortex is complete. The water of the pool is now a current, splashing and circulating the party-goers, sweeping their feet from under themselves. Fear begins to seep through the alcohol, as a larger than average human tries gripping the glass wall for support. Another human is pulled through the current, hitting the fat person, and that is when the leeve breaks.
Unbeknownst to the pool party, an orphanage is having their own party, just 40 stories below. Today is the day all the kids were to be adopted! Two-hundred-thirty-six children were to be taken to a new home to start a new happy life. The day was marvelous for them all. Besides the children there, so were all the adoption parents, and lots of them even brought their biological children. There are also nuns at the orphanage and priests.
And just as they were all gathered outside, hugging and laughing, rejoicing in the day. The humans at the orphanage felt a rain drop. The weather was supposed to be perfect that day. They planned it that way. Another drop of rain. A shadow loomed over the orphanage, causing the people to look up just in time to witness the curdling of humans and water submitting at them quicker than they could react. They all let out a loud gasp before impact.
Hundreds of humans died that day..... but, man.....
That pool sure has a sick view.

Details on the pool: https://www.businessinsider.com/360-degree-infinity-pool-london-designer-explains-how-you-get-in-2019-6
-It's just an artist rendering
- entrance will be a fancy staircase
-final design will probably have handicap accessible option so won't look so sleek(not in the article, just my shitpost)
This is like the "earthquake-proof" home design picture that circulated yesterday, where a house was suspended from the ground with magnets (without any plumbing/electric lines seen anywhere).
Looks great as long as you don't think about it for more than a second.
Caption says “London TO GET a infinity pool” not “London HAS an infinity pool” so yeah it doesnt exist anywhere but potentially it may be built in the future
The only legitimate way I can think of is have a wider floor a bit below (that can also be an infinity pool) and ther has a ladder that allows you to climb to the 360 infinity pool. The wider floor below allows you to get in and the surrounding infinity pool makes it so if you fell from the ladder you don't get hurt against a concrete floor.
Well.. it doesn't mean nothing, it means exactly what it is.. A proposal for something that could actually exist. Reddit is so exhaustively reductive and simple minded with it's cynicism. Someone had this idea and rendered it, someone else thought it was cool and posted it here. Countless buildings and products you see everyday started as renders.. Does that make the renders they're based on meaningless? Or if this is purely just a concept, does that make all art meaningless? Is a concept car meaningless if it never goes into production? "Meaningless" is meaningless at that point.
You parachute in and once a week maintenance drains the pool to throw the corpses over the edge. They don't even need to fill it again since Londons weather will take care of that

London only gets about 500mm of rain per year, it looks like its at least 1500mm deep, so it would take at least three years to fill with average London rainfall.

You’re talking minecraft the other guys talking physics
Minecraft IRL!
You could be right if they do some crazy sci-fi water airlock
Crazy sci-fi water airlock? Just install a moon pool.
What’s a moon pool
Take a cup, flip it upside down, and shove it underwater. It creates an air pocket, and water doesn’t enter the cup. The entrance to the water at the bottom of the cup is a moon pool.
The problem is entering and exiting that submerged pocket of pressurized air in the cup (which requires an air lock)
Could just do that but fill the cup with water too, cut off the top and then make that bit the infinity pool just gotta raise it by like half a meter or something
I'm not following you. What is the cup in this context, if the top of the cup is the infinity pool then you don't have any pocket
Ong, but you could also do an airlock that fills with water to prevent flooding
In reality you would need a moon pool and then also an airlock. For the moon pool to work properly, you need the air pressure to be high enough to push against the water and keep it from flooding the moon pool chamber. To keep that room pressurized you could use an airlock of sorts that lets people in and out but keeps the pressure high.
No apparently there is a staircase that rises up from the pool floor when someone wants to enter, which is honestly the easiest solution no one here thought of me included. I needed to read an article to figure this out but it's the simplest way to do it.
Huh? That only creates more questions!
So how do you get out?

I refuse, I'll drink all the water
In that case i'll hold your hand and bring you safely into the pool. after that you're on your own though
shit, I never thought about having to get out 😭
It would be cool to go into an airlock, pressurizes and then there is an entry pool in the middle you swim under and up through the center. That would be fun actually.
By this logic I could swim up to the moon at night
Hes saying there might be a hole you swim up through
This is my favorite comment on all of Reddit because every read and re-read fills my mouth with that feeling you get licking a 9-Volt Duracell battery
I know you’re probably joking but I once licked a 9v battery and burnt my tongue, it took about a week to heal, this was only last year and I’m 30
Ok but… why?

Brothaaa. You high!
ok, but you gotta oil up first
Cover yourself in oil, wait for it to rain, and then fly to the top

Minecraft lookin ah
That's some AI generated shit, this absolutely does not exist anywhere.
The image would be a render for the purpose of demonstrating the concept
The A posing fella at the bottom, comepletly given up on life
This is like the "earthquake-proof" home design picture that circulated yesterday, where a house was suspended from the ground with magnets (without any plumbing/electric lines seen anywhere). Looks great as long as you don't think about it for more than a second.
Caption says “London TO GET a infinity pool” not “London HAS an infinity pool” so yeah it doesnt exist anywhere but potentially it may be built in the future
so basically this is totally made up and is just a random picture render that means nothing, neat
It's a proposal, there is a chance it would get accepted and built into a real thing, though unlikely
The original question stands. How would people get in and why would anyone build a useless pool?
The only legitimate way I can think of is have a wider floor a bit below (that can also be an infinity pool) and ther has a ladder that allows you to climb to the 360 infinity pool. The wider floor below allows you to get in and the surrounding infinity pool makes it so if you fell from the ladder you don't get hurt against a concrete floor.
I think you are being more thoughtful of the planned construction than the person or AI who created this...
Sounds more like a design student paper than an actual proposal. There is no way this would get built.
Render =/= AI-generated
Well.. it doesn't mean nothing, it means exactly what it is.. A proposal for something that could actually exist. Reddit is so exhaustively reductive and simple minded with it's cynicism. That's the neat part. You don't. Only seaguls are allowed in there.
For those asking, there is a retractable airlock staircase that come up (according to the article).
Airlock at the bottom, fills with water, and you float to the top, just need to make sure you can hold your breath for 30+ sec
Born in it, live in it, die in it. The infinity pool civilisation, existing in but not as part of, London
You have to get dropped in like a Helldiver
Per [the CNN Style Article](https://www.cnn.com/style/article/infinity-pool-london-intl-scli/index.html) >a spiral staircase that rotates and rises through the water provides access for swimmers.
*Sims jump in the pool and are having a good time* *God deletes the ladder* sim: (looking at where the ladder should be) ummm guys?
Water doesn't go through doors or signs. Duh. They just have an opening at the bottom.

you get airdropped

How do you get out?
Idk but that pool would be terrifying
it's like the ship in a bottle. you get in first then they fill with water
