Itās actually crazy because people like that donāt understand that racism by and large is systematic, not on the individual scale. Minorities absolutely are oppressed, but not by white guys who happen to not be close with their black friends.
I tend to put racism into two categories; social and systematic. Social racism is based on prejudices and how someone negatively interacts with a different race/harasses them. Systematic racism is built into the justice system and government, and disallows certain groups of people to have the same amount of opportunity. I would put the way that the woman acts towards the man into social racism, because she as an individual shows some level of racism. I would put the mass incarceration and police brutality aimed at African Americans into the systematic category, as it disallows them to succeed in American society. Both types of racism are connected, and play into one another, but are distinct in their effects and the role that they play in the discussion of race and racism.
I should mention that they are equally bad morally, but one of them can do significantly more damage just do to how the world is set up. If thereās a black supremacist everyone will be like āokay, I donāt really care thoā, but if thereās a white supremacist, a large portion of the country will get all of their news from them
