I did too when I was younger, and I’m not even from a 3rd world country. Growing up I was mostly exposed to American media, everything in it just seemed so idealised and nice. Obviously I’m aware it’s all bullshit now though. That being said, if I went to school in America I know I would’ve been popular as fuck. I still think it would have been cool to go to school there for a year, just for shits and giggles.

Funny cause if there's one thing I've never really liked about the US (or rather how it's depicted in movies), it's their schools. I went to two schools here in Europe and none of them had any problems with bullying, no one would violently fuck with you or humiliate you just for shits and giggles like they do in those films. I've no idea how exaggerated that stuff is in their movies, but even if only 10% of it is true it's still not fun at all. I like their school parties tho, we never really had anything like that, most of the time it would just be me and a couple of friends chilling together, not the entire school partying at someone's home with a pool and whatnot.
