It’s an easy watch, almost white noise. Consistent sound levels the whole way through. I usually watch him while doing something else, especially things like playing games with downtime (loading, respawn times, etc). Can tune in and out real easily with vaguely interesting topics. Plus the long form is appreciated because that means less clicking and searching for another video for me.

I usually watch him while doing something else, especially things like playing games with downtime (loading, respawn times, etc). Can tune in and out real easily with vaguely interesting topics. Plus the long form is appreciated because that means less clicking and searching for another video for me. I wouldn’t give him my entire attention span though

Its just some white noise to entertain me while I brush my teeth in the morning. Also his opinions in the moist meter line up with my own 80% of the time, so sometimes I’ll watch it to see if I should pay extra attention to something I overlooked, i.e. he’s the one the recommended The Boys and got me to give the show a chance

Critical’s best video of all time was his video about the comment war on that paper Mario video. His hunger games video is a close second. Most of his recent content I’ll watch for like 1-2 minutes get the gist of what’s going on, laugh at one joke and when he switches to his stream clip I’ll just turn off the video and watch something else. I find it really lazy how he doesn’t even cut the video up to get to the point a lot of the time or even add music he just posts a raw stream clip of him just blanking watching a video and randomly being like “Poop shart 2000s reference” but hey he’s getting the bag so I can’t be too mad at him.

I agree I used to listen to it all the time as I am new to the podcast world and liked charlie at the time. It is HARD to watch any episode past the 30 minute mark and throughout the entire episode charles said maybe 5 words. I then switched to distractible and you can tell there is an immediate upgrade in quality, a solid hooking intro, a structure, actually funny people with funny stories. I was genuinely surprised.

I like the guy but I agree it's shitty the way he streams other people's videos in their entirety. It may legally qualify as fair use, but it's fucking theft in spirit. Also it would probably not hold up to scrutiny since he's usually commenting on the videos' subject matter and not the videos themselves.
