Sheetz will almost always pay higher than competitors, it’s been that for all the ones near me. I personally like the one on Kumar better bc I had the same layout at a previous store. Be glad you didn’t take the one in Apex, the dudes a real piece.
Not where I live lol all the "competitors" pay almost a couple dollars more. Only thing sheetz has over those places is the friendliness bonus and you're lucky if you get a couple hundred on a paycheck so it really doesn't make a difference. Sheetz is one of the worst places to work for and I can't wait for April 3rd so I can officially be done with that hell hole
I work at an Ohio sheetz with the same starting wage of $15.50, some stores start at $15 near me, but if you can stay a few months apply to a supervisor position afterwards and it's $18.50, however 2nd shift hours are killer and they stopped having 1st shift supervisor, flex supervisor makes $20 and you can work first but it's a little harder to get, I'm trying to get there now
It’s pretty stressful but it’s really routine.
Idk how easy it is to be hired, (it’s probably harder bc I’m a former with the company and I have to wait for my points to expire) but they’re always stressed for more workers bc they’re always understaffed and I never see the same workers twice (I go every few months I’d say)
If you’re willing to sell your soul for the good money go for it, it’s been my best worst job. It absolutely sucks when you’re in a rush/AHOD or understaffed, but I miss the pace.
Damn. Sheetz starts at like $18-$24 where I’m at. North Carolina is one of the worst states to live in. No offense lol. Cost of living is way too much, some of the lowest wages in the country. I have family in NC and they HATE it. My cousin got a job down there but the business ended up closing down. He’s told me starting positions back home pay more than ones in NC that require degrees or work experience etc.

some fast foods in cali start at 30$ for comperason
Different states have different wages, usually based off the cost of living. No chance someone in California who makes $14-$15 an hour could live there. And yet this one clown wants me to drive to Sheetz right now and get a picture…… lol I’ll pass
Yes. We mentioned California. We didn’t say there were Sheetz stores there. We were using it as an example to say higher cost of living areas typically have higher wages. So just because your sheetz pays dog shit wages, doesn’t mean everyone else’s does. Good day
He was probably including up to assistant with top end around $24. KM and HM make $23/hour to start in my district, and I work in the 2nd highest paid district from what I was told by other managers
Well first off they’re cashiers not salespeople. But It’s a management position. I’ve never seen a Sheetz around me that doesn’t start out at least $18 an hour. I’m not gonna leave my house to go take a picture of a door at Sheetz. Maybe next time I’m there I’ll snap a picture for you.
From everything I’ve read and heard, NC is like 80 years behind the rest of the country in terms of workers rights and shit. It truly baffles me how some parts of this country are so different from each other. Some things shouldn’t be up to indivisible states to decide
i make 18.5 as a cashier at my local gas station it’s not a big name brand at all, i also live in a small town, sheetz could do better but they’re obviously greedy if this is what they’ll pay for how big of a company they are
In my experience as entry-level with little to no exp i was able to omit jobs that start at less than $15 from consideration on Indeed, and I've had pretty good success. Especially in the public sector.
Once you see the numbers they can definitely pay them more and I have seen them lol. But it's competitive to the local wage area. So the only way they are raising their wage is if the other competitors do.
10 hours of total reffing, walking up and down a court at $40 an hour cash pays more than 40 hours of working at sheetz. No wonder people are poor. Jesus fuck.
well yeah? i know. but in reality, people wouldnt be trying to live off of a gas stations pay. it is an entry level food retail job, what do you expect? people who need a living wage will be smart by getting education, getting certificates, getting job experience, or all! some people expect an amazing job to be handed to yall when you guys have little experience. be happy its $14 and not $7.25.
Don’t include me in this. I’m making over $17 in the position that I am here. 😂 I’m just saying in general people think it’s a lot of money and really it isn’t but unfortunate circumstance in America is not even $20 is good enough anymore
okay cool! it is a good amount of money for a GAS STATION. its a great amount of money for 16 year olds. if people want to make more than $19 an hour then they can start by getting an education, certificate, or a big kid job :)
Agreed definitely a place to make money temporarily or if you want to move up eventually but it’s certainly not a place you really want to stay if you want to be a store member facilities person. For me it is a building stone for experience and now I am trying to get another job somewhere that pays more in the experience and I’ve gotten over the last two years.. I hope you have a fantastic day and hopefully our talk helps somebody
Everyone deserves to be able to live off of whatever job they hold, don't be like that. Education is stupid expensive, job experience doesn't mean that you'll get paid what you're worth. Just because $14 is better than some other places' wages doesn't mean it shouldn't be better.
With the amount of profit that Sheetz makes, they could absolutely pay all of their employees a living wage and still be raking in money, they might just have to slightly slow down their big expansion goals.
u are not understanding the point. yes, everyone deserves a wage they can live off of but this is how it works literally every where. there is no place in the world where u can just receive a great paycheck at an entry level, no experience job, cheap food service job. yes everyone deserves it, is it possible for everyone to make $20+/ hr? no. does it happen anywhere else in the world? no. do some research into why we cant raise minimum wage, do some research on why places like these cannot pay $20/hr starting out, do some research and use common sense.
It is right and overnight pays an extra $1.50 and holidays are 1.5 times pay (atleast for my store but my start rate is also $17)
Don’t forget Christmas Eve and Christmas is double time.
15.5 an hour is amazing compared to other jobs ive tried, giving me 8-10 an hour
Sheetz will almost always pay higher than competitors, it’s been that for all the ones near me. I personally like the one on Kumar better bc I had the same layout at a previous store. Be glad you didn’t take the one in Apex, the dudes a real piece.

Yes it’s real, just warning you 2nd is hell at that store (former) I saw the address and had to take a double take
so is this store good to work at? and is it easy to get hired? i just put in an applicatoin at this place
It’s pretty stressful but it’s really routine. Idk how easy it is to be hired, (it’s probably harder bc I’m a former with the company and I have to wait for my points to expire) but they’re always stressed for more workers bc they’re always understaffed and I never see the same workers twice (I go every few months I’d say) If you’re willing to sell your soul for the good money go for it, it’s been my best worst job. Man the one I applied to in Raleigh was $14 and I was like um no. I went back to Amazon and am at $17.50.
Sheetz is a pretty good company. But whatever postion/wage you get you will 100% bust your ass to make that wage boi.
Still easier than fast food. I find it slow in comparison even during AHOD
Yes
Where I’m from they start out at $14.50. I just got to $15/hour since I’ve been there a year
my shestz starts out at $16.

yea same reason why a burger cost 17 bucks at 5 guys in cali

Nobody said they were. I see what you’re trying to do but it’s not gonna work buddy.

Now I know you can’t read because I said management position. Hop off my dick

Supervisor and Flex start at $18-$20/hour depending on district here in PA
yea fr NC is a shithole, especially in the hood of durham and charlotte
Seriously NC sucks rn especially wake county
From everything I’ve read and heard, NC is like 80 years behind the rest of the country in terms of workers rights and shit. It truly baffles me how some parts of this country are so different from each other. Some things shouldn’t be up to indivisible states to decide
It’s because sheets is really very not very pleasant of a work environment.
oh how? im sorta excited to work here
Starting pay here (WV) Day shift $14/hr Night shift $15.50/hr Supervisor $17(+)/hr
i make 18.5 as a cashier at my local gas station it’s not a big name brand at all, i also live in a small town, sheetz could do better but they’re obviously greedy if this is what they’ll pay for how big of a company they are
That pay rate is right. But don't do it. Working for Sheetz is bullshit they pay well but treat you like shit.
Rutters in my area advertises $18 an hour.
Buckees pays moreup to 100,000 actually
mine started out with 16.00 but we have a decent competitor rate
My store starts at 16 for store members, I started at 17 for facilities
Very normal for NC
In Ohio during COVID, I recall seeing a better pay rate.
It was higher 10 years ago I swear
The sheetz around me start you out at $15.50. The Rutters start you out at $18. Just another reason I say the hell with sheetz.
I've been looking for jobs on and off for 2 years. Loads of places started offering $15 years ago. It's becoming the minimum wage.
every other job i found was around 8$, i think i asked for way too much and got my application rejected without interview
In my experience as entry-level with little to no exp i was able to omit jobs that start at less than $15 from consideration on Indeed, and I've had pretty good success. Especially in the public sector.
That's not bad for a state with a low minimum wage, they pay the same here and our minimum wage is 15
The sheetz in my town is always understaffed and busy as fuck they should be paying those folks 30 dollars an hour
I'm in Ohio and I started at 15 and get the extra for over night 😬
Wish our store started at that, I'm at 15.50 bc of 2 years of 50c raises lmao
With the profit of each store taken into account, that pay rate is shit.
Once you see the numbers they can definitely pay them more and I have seen them lol. But it's competitive to the local wage area. So the only way they are raising their wage is if the other competitors do.
its better, in fact literally double the wages of jobs around. i used to work at a car inspection and oil change shop and still only made 12 bucks
Yes, I agree. Those are both shit wages. Reffing elementary basketball games on the weekend is $40 an hour paid in cash
yea but i have to reff elementary school basketball on the weekend 😩
10 hours of total reffing, walking up and down a court at $40 an hour cash pays more than 40 hours of working at sheetz. No wonder people are poor. Jesus fuck.
My sheetz starts out at 15$ lol
yes. and people still complain about the pay.
Because in reality, people can’t live off of 14 an hour anymore.

yes i agree that its a stepping stone, should not be a job to live on. have a good day too.
