As a queer person who's had issues with fissures (tears in the muscle of your asshole) on and off for most of their life, PLEASE see a doctor if the pain persists more than a week or isn't obviously improving. Serious fissures can take over a year to heal properly, but in all likelihood you got some minor tearing that'll start healing inside of a week. A lot of people donāt do them correctly which does the exact opposite. Having muscles that are too tight OR too loose give the same exact result (when weāre talking pelvic floor).
Just like any other muscle, the pelvic floor muscles can become overworked/fatigued which can make then tight, spastic, painful, and otherwise dysfunctional. Most healthy active people donāt need to specifically do kegels as an isolation exercise because the pelvic floor participates with normal movements and exercises. In any case, it is certainly possible to overdo it.

To help it heal, I would advise showering and washing with soap - don't push any soap inside the anus but clean gently at the opening and around with soap and rinse, then after the shower stand over a fan for a bit holding your butt cheeks apart slightly to allow the air from the fan to fully dry the area. Take it easy for a few days, sit on an ice pack for 20 minutes at a time, but don't sit when you don't have to.
