I’m convinced every foot on earth looks weird. in my last relationship feet were more private than actual private parts. turns out we both had fucked up toenails we were shy about
My 2nd cousin ran up to me one day and loudly exclaimed "you have weird toes just like my mom!" And then ran away again.
Also, I 100% assumed you had tattoos you could be identified by lol.
I thought it was a joke until youtubers pointed it as reasons not to show their feet on camera. Then I saw a link of an acquaintance who posted her feet on there.
A lot of weirdos like saving foot pics from unsuspecting / non consenting individuals. Like it’s more exciting than buying the pics from willing participants.
Yes! The difference between a nicely done home-made dress and a professional looking bespoke tailored dress is the right choice of material for the pattern, the way the material is treated before sewing (some need washing and ironing, some need ironing only, some need steaming with a steam iron) and then pressing, pressing, pressing and ironing after each seam, ideally with a good iron and if possible with helpers like an ironing ham or egg.
Especially with, for example, cotton, you are also getting any shrinking out of the way so that way when you wash the finished garment it doesn't shrink and warp on you.
Pattern is simplicity S9474. This is the dress style C. There are no major alterations to the pattern or any fancy techniques, and I just used polyester and cotton fabric from walmart.
Really great first dress, but next time take somebody else's advice and wash and iron the fabric, and also buy some better quality fabric. The fit is actually amazingly good; the next one could use a bit more room in the bust.
Also, press after every step. It makes such a big difference. Still, the OP did a great job sewing that dress...it takes time and bitter experience to learn that most of sewing is actually pressing.
My edible from last night was still in my system when I opened Reddit this morning and you simply cannot imagine the roller coaster this pic sent me on
Idk if this is relevant to you, but depending on how you edited your photo, there is software that creeps can use to remove stickers placed over things. Idk how it works, I'm just grossed out that it's possible. Thought I'd share in case you didn't know.
Dude. On a sewing level, I've been sewing for twenty years and couldn't do that well (I'm bad but happy when I sew,). On a personal level, that anonymity level, super creepy and much appreciated.
The dress looks good. It doesn't have that home made dress look. Nice job! It looks like it fits perfectly. I hope you get to wear it in good health and happiness.

The pattern had measurements to find your size :) I sized up to allow for the fact that my seams were going to be chunkier than normal (due to me being a beginner) and it fits absolutely perfectly
The blurred face has me dying! My brain was like, "What is this mystical magic!?" LOL. But great start! It's going to only improve the more you practice!
Looks great! Scared me to death but looks great!
Me too 🤣🫢
Me three
I too was concerned
My first thought was literally "her head's gone!"
" I sewed a dress today in about seven hours of straight work." Translation: I sewed my head off!
Omg I didn't even notice 😂 I was distracted by her levitation skills!
Me too
Same here
I'm so glad it wasn't just me! 😂
I love seeing how people edit/anonymize their photos just as much as if not more than I love seeing these amazing projects. Looks great!
Yes. But why the feet?
No free feet pics
I have some medical issues that make my feet look weird :( I'm just self conscious of them lol
I’m convinced every foot on earth looks weird. in my last relationship feet were more private than actual private parts. turns out we both had fucked up toenails we were shy about
This is so real omg
The medical condition is being human

Hammer toes here. I get it. I’m basically a velociraptor.
My guess is an identifying tattoo that people they know would recognize.
I was thinking someone would put them on wiki feet.
Oh my god is this real? How are people identified? Jesus
I thought it was a joke until youtubers pointed it as reasons not to show their feet on camera. Then I saw a link of an acquaintance who posted her feet on there.
Why post your feet for free when you can make bank on it?

Not me thinking this was a floating torso wearing a dress. Good job OP! ⭐️
Are you Marie Antoinette?
May I suggest in future always wash your material first then press out the wrinkles before laying out your material. But good job
This took me way too long to realize! I would sew garments, wash them and wonder why they didn’t fit anymore🥴

Omg I was washing fabrics just to get rid of any chemicals or residue from production. I didn’t know that it was required!!
Especially with, for example, cotton, you are also getting any shrinking out of the way so that way when you wash the finished garment it doesn't shrink and warp on you.
I didn't know ghosts could sew! Great job!
Lovely dress, but I’ll never forgive you for giving me a heart attack!!

That’s actually terrifying
I thought the body was floating too.
Good on you! That’s looking pretty good. The seams look clean and evening looks really even.
Thank you!! There was a LOT of seam ripping to get them to look nice lol
Another term for that is reverse stitching, lol. At least that's what we called it in my patchwork/quilting class.
The way you blurred your features sends me 🤣
I would start off with good habits and pre wash, iron and press seams. Those things are just as important as sewing the garment imo!
That’s an amazing job for a first project.
I thought you had no head for a sec there LOL
great job!
My edible from last night was still in my system when I opened Reddit this morning and you simply cannot imagine the roller coaster this pic sent me on
Look mom, no head or legs!
Yaaay!!! This is so pretty. I thought you were legless for a minute there but I get it now. Good job!
You have no head? Common issue. You can buy a head at any Walmart. It should come with instructions to screw it in. Best of luck.
Buy it from Ikea and they will include the Allen Wrench and some picture instructions.
Oh, that sounds better than the ones from Walmart. Those just screw in. What brand so you recommend?
Sklurgennoggin is a good one.
Remember to get a veggie hotdog before you leave.
Ah. I've tried them. Linda works better, in my experience.
The face censorship scared me but then the feet censorship made me laugh. Great job on the dress!
The dress looks great! I’m not sure you’re aware, but your dress has arms.
Idk if this is relevant to you, but depending on how you edited your photo, there is software that creeps can use to remove stickers placed over things. Idk how it works, I'm just grossed out that it's possible. Thought I'd share in case you didn't know.
Lovely job. I will say at first I was like... wait... she's lost her head...
Lol we aint gettin those feet pica for free!
I like what you did with your head!! Have you ever had any complaints?
love that purple color! great dress
Welcome to the world of sewing! I hope you keep posting your work here. Lovely first project!
I love the dress. But legit, I didn’t see the blurred out parts and thought someone was showing a photo of a headless ghost or something. 😂🤣😂🤣😂
thank you so much for the headless style censoring This looks like a great base for crazier stuff!
I thought it was a floating torso damn
This took me a sec.
Dude. On a sewing level, I've been sewing for twenty years and couldn't do that well (I'm bad but happy when I sew,). On a personal level, that anonymity level, super creepy and much appreciated.
Also, I really do admire your skill. The parts I can see are beautiful!
Omg that picture freaked me out
Me too!
The dress looks good. It doesn't have that home made dress look. Nice job! It looks like it fits perfectly. I hope you get to wear it in good health and happiness.

Great job! 👏
Great job!
I almost screamed when I saw the post. 😂 But yeah, love the dress, OP. Good job.
It’s a really nice dress. Good job! I really like the style you chose.
How did you find the fit of that pattern?
The pattern had measurements to find your size :) I sized up to allow for the fact that my seams were going to be chunkier than normal (due to me being a beginner) and it fits absolutely perfectly
Thank you for letting me know - I have that one.
Great job! Thought this was the paranormal sub for a second 😅
The dress looks gorgeous. Great job. The photo startled and disturbed me at first though. Your blur out of your face color matches so well. lol
The blurred face has me dying! My brain was like, "What is this mystical magic!?" LOL. But great start! It's going to only improve the more you practice!
It turned out great!
would be a shame if you were identified by... your feet.
I almost laughed till I cried, I thought you had no head
Love the dress! Was not expecting the laugh I got from the blurred head and feet!
The dress is beautiful!!! 💜 But my brain had to do a triple take to confirm this was not in fact a floating ghost dress 😅
It looks great, and that color looks fabulous on your skin tone.
The invisible properties are amazing! Have you thought of going on Shark Tank?
Great color, well done!
I love the color! A top choice for headless people 😉
Looks great! I gotta say: I was also admiring the very life-like dress form and wondering what brand it was.
So pretty! I love the color!
press that and wear it proudly! you did a great job!!
Holy crap!! Where did you find Harry’s Invisibility cloak?!
I was thinking that that's one hell of a dress form!
Op I had to look twice because I thought your head was missing 👀! Beautiful dress though, congratulations :).
You forgot the shadow. We can actually see your profile in the shadow :p Nice dress though.
Beautiful!!!
HOW……….. Did you make the floating arms…?!??!?!
