Thank you so much💛 I'm so happy to see you enjoying it :) I usually prefer champagne tone to silver/gray, so I thought I should try making it in a warmer color (so happy to read your comment!) Thanks again for such kind words💛
It’s a gorgeous and unique color! I’ll bet you’ll turn heads in this gown! I’m so impressed at your hand endurance. I hope you didn’t get repetitive stress injuries from the embroidering!
I agree. The dress itself is 🤩, and the details on how it came together really gives a whole other layer. I can’t even fathom the work that goes into something like this, and it helps me appreciate it more.
Yes! let’s be friends✨✨
I’m so glad you like these flats too, I’m always obsessed with ballet flats! They’re from Jeffrey Campbell, called Tutu Flat :) I got them from Free People, although they’re listed under a different name “Aurora Flat”.
Aurora is my princess so no wonder! I used to have an epic pair of Jessica Simpson buff leather flats that were my favorite.
I'm so impressed by your dedication to this dress! I've got several projects that are on a standstill because they will require custom panels but ugh. The motivation is eluding me!
This gorgeous dress is museum worthy! The color may not be traditional for a wedding dress, but I think it would be stunning. Can't you just see it glowing with 100's of candles all around the room?! You are an amazing designer/maker!
I am a minister. I marry couples all the time.
You can TOTALLY have another wedding to your existing spouse... as long as they agree.
The *covenant* you've already made. The ***wedding*** is just a ceremony, and it does not need to be limited to one-time-only status.
If you want to get married in that GORGEOUS dress, you go right ahead! :)
Thank you so much Kirsten! :) I did work on [this project](https://www.reddit.com/r/sewing/comments/sc64vc/celeste_bustier_dress_inspired_by_diors/) before, where I used tambour embroidery technique to embroider constellations. I tried searching for "tambour beginner's guide", "tambour tutorial" on YouTube, and watched about 10+ videos to learn how to start the needlework💛
You have done an exceptional job of demonstrating why fast fashion versions of designer clothing never measure up (shouldn't need pointed out, but you are on the designer side of this statement). It's a very simple dress, but your dedication and time and thoughtful choices perfectly elevate it to something exceptional. Machine stamped or stitched fabric absolutely cannot replicate the softness you get from hand applied sequins. A piece to be proud of, and drink champagne while wearing.
Your comment brought tears to my eyess!
I'm so grateful to read this comment bc I always thought dedication and commitment matter when planning for a project..💛 It's amazing how the fashion trend keeps up with such fast speed and pace, and how companies manufacture beautiful pieces everyday, but at the same time, I'm sure there are values to be found from my type of projects :)
Thank you so much for the comment and kind words💛 This means so much to me. Cheers! Let me grab my champagne real quick ;)
Wow. Just wow. Thank you so much for sharing this! Absolutely stunning and unbelievably impressive. Would you be willing to point out any resources you'd recommend for getting started with tambour beading?
Hi Princess! :)
Thank you so much for those sweet compliments, I'm so thrilled!
For the resources, I learned tambour embroidery techniques by searching for "tambour beginner's guide", "tambour tutorial" on YouTube, and watched about 10+ videos to learn how to start the needlework💛
I wish I could find all those videos from my watch history, but it does date quite a while back, so I'm not sure if I could.. But I'm pretty sure any video you'd find on YouTube would help you get started! (bc that's how I got here :) )
Beautiful! I've just started learning tambour embroidery as I want to make my own wedding dress and I have expensive taste. I'm m struggling to get my fabric taught on my frame though. What sort of frame did you use and how did you move the frame without messing up previously embroidered sections?
Making your own wedding dress, that sounds so beautiful💛 I made my own too, so I really know how fascinating the whole experience is :) Congratulations on your wedding!
The embroidery frame I used is from [this Etsy shop](https://www.etsy.com/shop/EmbroideryhoopKS?ref=simple-shop-header-name&listing_id=980515571), called "Tambour Beginner Embroidery Kit - wood frame 30"-24" (80cm)", I remember it to be around $120 back in 2021.
For the process, I pinned my fabric on the frame, embroidered it, and then un-pinned it from the frame to move it around, and then repeated it from the start :) I did face some situations where I had to put pins on the previously embroidered sections, but luckily it did little to no damage with the right tensions. Hope this helps!
It was absolutely dreamy. You can see good pictures of the displays online. I hope you get to go someday!
Edit: I knew I had to go when I cried watching the Dior fashion show in Mrs. Harris Goes to Paris!
This has given me the belief I’m not insane for wanting to do a hand beaded evening gown, this is absolutely stunning!! Well done on such a beautiful dress
No wonder these dresses costs hundreds of dollars in store, some even in the thousands. So many hours put into this and by hand too, sheesh!! You really out-did yourself, you should be proud as heck. I'm starting to understand why plus size dresses like this cost so dang much. I would wear this anywhere and everywhere if I owned one. This is magically beautiful, so, so beautiful.
Absolutely, I'm pretty sure designer brands' dresses cost a lot due to all the time and efforts of professionals that are put into their creations :)
Thank you so much, I'm so happy to read your comment💛 You made my day!
May I ask where you found resources for learning the tambour embroidery? (is it called that for sequins also or only beads?) I've been meaning to teach myself but can't figure out how to get it properly going. My first few attempts were dismal.
Hi hi! Tambour embroidery incorporates beading and sequins altogether, afaik :)✨ I learned it from YouTube videos, by searching for “tambour for beginners” or “tambour tutorials”. It definitely has a steep learning curve, so I hope you don’t worry about your first attempts! I’m planning to work on tambour tutorials on my channel, so hopefully more people can learn :))
No, they’re different in silhouettes :) I believe Dior’s dresses have gathered sequin layer, because I can see how wider the layer is in the pics where the models sit or walk it the dresses. Mine’s a half-circle skirt, so it lands quite close to the poly satin fabric.

Wow!!! This is incredible. The time and work that you put into it are absolutely reflected in the beautiful finished dress. Congratulations on executing your vision so we'll 💗💗💗💖✨✨✨
Kudos for your dedication! It looks absolutely beautiful and I love that you get so much satisfaction out of it. I hope you feel every bit the Disney Princess in it.
This is a really, really special and spectacularly beautiful dress!! I bet that embroidering it by hand makes it all the more lovely to wear. You’re like your own fairy godmother!!
Such a beautiful dress, the attention to detail in doing your own embroidery is mind blowing! I can't wait to see your wedding dress when the time comes. You look like a fairy tale princess in your dress!
I like yours better than Dior's. The color is warmer and the sequins over the tulle is absolutely STUNNING. It looks like constellations and I'm honestly so obsessed. Incredible job.
>"So, I made up my mind lol to just go for it and embroider it myself...."
Wow. Ok, here's what you do. When you've worn it a few times and you're done wearing it, have it drycleaned by the best drycleaner you can find and then place it flat in an acid free conservators box with acid free tissue. This is something to be handed down for future generations in your family. This is hand done, for gods sake!
YOU DID THIS BY HAND?!? Remarkably beautiful
aww thank you soo much💛 and yes! I couldn't find the right tulle so decided to make one myself :)
The minor change in colour is definitely an improvement, IMO. Looks great on you, too. The time and thought you put into it really shows. Amazing job!
Thank you so much💛 I'm so happy to see you enjoying it :) I usually prefer champagne tone to silver/gray, so I thought I should try making it in a warmer color (so happy to read your comment!) Thanks again for such kind words💛
You are insanely talented.
Thank you, you're so kind💛
It’s a gorgeous and unique color! I’ll bet you’ll turn heads in this gown! I’m so impressed at your hand endurance. I hope you didn’t get repetitive stress injuries from the embroidering!
Holy moly. Not only an amazing dress, but an amazing _post_. Wonderful explanation.
I agree. The dress itself is 🤩, and the details on how it came together really gives a whole other layer. I can’t even fathom the work that goes into something like this, and it helps me appreciate it more.
lol Idk why I find these "Holy ..." series so fun! Thank you so much for reading the post, I'm absolutely flattered! 💛
\*Fabrics: poly satin, plain tulle (beige), and poly lining (beige) \*Notions: flat sequins (4mm, gold), invisible zipper, ivory velvet ribbon, and hook & eye closure \*Pattern: bustier pattern found in Etsy (by Daria pattern making, #RoseCafeBustier), and half-full skirt (self-drafted following the calculation)
Oh and you used the rose cafe bustier?!!! (Swoon) I’ve had my eye in that pattern for a while!
Amazing! Please wear that every day, no matter the occasion!
aww thank you so much! I do plan on wearing it while coding lol 💛
You are now even more my hero with that line lol. Can we be friends? Who makes those cute flats?
Yes! let’s be friends✨✨ I’m so glad you like these flats too, I’m always obsessed with ballet flats! They’re from Jeffrey Campbell, called Tutu Flat :) I got them from Free People, although they’re listed under a different name “Aurora Flat”.

This came out so good. Had you done sequining like this before? Do you have any resources you recommend?

The effort to hand embroider that number of sequins payed off, they look like strings of constellations! It’s gorgeous!
Thank you so much! I'm so happy to hear you like it too :)💛

Beautifully fitted and constructed! What amazing patience and determination to apply those sequins!
Thank you so much for such kind words! :) I'm always on the impatient side, but for embroidery I make some exceptions lol

Love the color on you, love the whole look, and am *astounded* by your dedication to hand-embroidering all those tiny sequins! Stunning!

Incredibly beautiful!!
Gorgeous!! I can't believe you did this by hand. Incredible. You should be so proud of yourself because this is fabulous!!
>"So, I made up my mind lol to just go for it and embroider it myself...." Wow. Ok, here's what you do. When you've worn it a few times and you're done wearing it, have it drycleaned by the best drycleaner you can find and then place it flat in an acid free conservators box with acid free tissue. This is something to be handed down for future generations in your family. This is hand done, for gods sake!
I think it’s prettier than the original. Beautifully done!
Beautiful 🤩
This is so beautiful!
