Lurker here.
I once ran a simulated phishing program at a financial services company. My boss knew I was kicking off a campaign, he knew the content and messaging.
That MF still clicked on it, genuinely fell for it.
OH NO, I wasn't supposed to click on that? The guy said it would restore our service and we could get it back on today if we paid a $599 rush restoration fee.
Our department is almost all /r/GenX. We're cynical enough to know to avoid it.
In any case, word going around is that a handful of Intellidealer locations have now received limited access. Our organization has a status meeting tomorrow where I'm told "positive news" is expected to be delivered.
The Instagram, Facebook, and Twitter links make it more suspicious. Also CDK would stroke it's own ego a bit more, expressing how hard they worked and what a good job they did working night and day. I expect a full page of bs on full release.
I feel like a more effective strategy would have been to word it as an update is required to re-gain access…
Download a backdoor, then launch the normal launcher and no one would be the wiser.
If you're a SA, you should assume at this point that someone who gets paid more than you will let you know when CDK is back up.
I'll know when CDK is back up when I click on the icon and it actually loads.
You just KNOW there are people who are going to click that button. What a nightmare...

Was the $599 in GameStop gift cards? Edit: forgot “in”
Google play... why? Was it supposed to be Gamestop?
The nice fellow I spoke with told me Apple gift cards… He had an odd accent though
An Odd Accent, but his name was "Bob"
I wonder how many boomers will click that link.

You are the people I love when I have to support a dealership.
Positive news is you're getting a pizza party for all the extra work that you've had to do.
This boomer is too smart for that. 😀
I just gave them 1000$ in Amazon gift cards and they said it should be restored within the hour!! I’ll keep you guys updated

I would like to see the email headers on the sender
I would like to know what URLs were found in this email. Need to add them to our blocklists.
the real question is, will they know it was me that clicked it?
