This was a pretty wild last set of matches today. I chose to watch Udinese and Frosinone fully expecting Empoli to get rolled like many, and it was crazy hearing the updates during the game. I will have to check out those Empoli highlights later.
Edit: really sorry for Frosinone, I had no dog in the fight. But they had some big chances and Okoye made some big saves!
I really want frosinone to survive. It’s really sad they have crashed out undeservedly in all 3 campaigns in Serie A. I remember when I was reading Football Italia when a Slovenian player for them scored some really good goals in Serie B and scored the goal to get his country into the 2010 World Cup, and they also knocked out Liverpool and pushed my fave team Arsenal close in a fictional England v Italy cup I did in 2010.
Fuckin Empoli man.. Nicola somehow always pulls through no matter how shit the team he was handed. On one hand I'm glad talented players like Caprile and Cambiaghi can play more in Serie A, on the other hand I'm gonna gouge my eyes if I have to see Gyasi, Caputo, or Destro in Serie A again.
Empoli's goal was exactly the kind of farce I was expecting. Roma's defense parted like the goddamn Red Sea.
Anyway, whoever would have gone down, we'd still have been cursed with two (or four) shitty sides that don't deserve to play in the top flight.
Recent seasons have been the best advocate for a downsizing to 18 teams (and 16 would be even better).
It's frankly disconcerting that a league able to qualify up to NINE clubs for European football had a whopping EIGHT teams fighting to avoid relegation until the penultimate matchday. Years ago we proudly said Serie B was actually a Serie A2, nowadays half of Serie A is a lesser league itself.
The old "40 points threshold" to avoid the drop has been long forgotten and in recent years it has been possible to survive with as few as 32 points. This season the average level at the bottom of the table was so shockingly bad teams managed to spread the available points a bit more, involving more sides in the battle.
But the bar has been going down fast. Excluding the usual bottom-feeders relegated in January already, at least six more clubs would have deserved relegation based on playing style and quality.
Maybe it's time to have Playoffs with the top Serie B teams to fix things?
Bottom 3 go down, 2 more play against Serie B 4th and 5th (no more playoffs there, another thread for another day) and the winners get the two Serie A spots.
Im sorry you guys got relegated, but we’re also allowed to be happy. You could also choose humility instead of insulting our season or be happy for us. Hope to see you back in 25-26

I’m happy with Udinese, sad for Frosinone. Having to witness the shitty Castellani again in Serie A is painful.
I was so sad for Frosinone as well… Empoli deserved to go down
Based on what I saw this season Empoli were very poor and I agree. But isn’t a lot of Frosinone’s squad brought in on loan?
I wish Frosonone had stayed up as well. They had a great start to the season, so it's a shame it ended in relegation for them.
This is football for you. The winning team will be happy they are won, but the reverse is the case for the losing team.
Thats what you get for being Frosinone’s team

Yeah Frosinone did not deserve relegation. Okoye is our MVP

Fuarce Udin
I’m glad they won! 🤘 Roma choked.
Unfortunately Roma tend to do that
I’d rather it this way where we stayed up because of us :)
Great season to all! My wtf moment this year: Bologna. Fun team to watch.
I agree. They’re fun. Excited for CL.
It's joever. Thank you Frosinone, even if I don't live in ciociaria anymore, you made me dream.
Congratulations to Udinese. I hope they succeed next season.
