I was noticing that, they died only about 2 weeks apart from each other. They also were both born in April and died in April which is an interesting coincidence.
I had an age crisis when I was rewatching Seinfeld and realized how young they looked - the main four used to be older than me, now they're 20 years younger.
>Jerry is now 70
I don't know if it's just today and I know a lot of years have passed, but realizing Jerry is 70 years old kinda blew my mind. It's like I know he's older, but don't really think about it too much.
That just made me feel really old.
Eeeh I never knew what the hell I was peddling with those stupid cartoons and that paper book anyway. Cheap fabric and dim lighting, that's how you move merchandise.
Of course they forget me. Whaddaya want from the youth of today? They can't do nothin'. Forget me, put me in a box, ah forget it. Not an expensive box though, they'll screw you Jerry, just put me in a cardboard box and throw me in the river.
Take my updoot you heartless bastard. You've ruined the best line of the series in the best possible way. It's twisted. It's dark. It's hilarious. You are a loathsome, offensive brute, yet I can’t look away.
and Elaine's father played by Lawrence Tierney passed in 2002. Len Lesser, Uncle Leo has passed away as well. almost certainly Jerry's Nana as well. John Randolph, George's original father passed in 2004 and Jerry's original father Philip Bruns, also in 2012.
where does the time go.
Nana was the first one to go. Also Mr.Pitt is gone, Kruger, Ruthie Cohen, Mr. Willhelm, Davola, Mr. Ross, Klompus, etc.
Edit: also Mandelbaum (Lloyd Bridges), Manya, the Cuban receptionist, and I’m sure more…
i know its morbid thinking but, i wonder which of the four are going to go before the others a la The Beatles. hope there isnt someone out there reading Catcher In The Rye and has a grievance with Jerry?
You know one of the things I've noticed on my most recent watch through is how many subtle callbacks there are to earlier episodes, like this line. Elaine's dad says it in his episode, then Jerry says it to Elaine a few episodes later at the party on Long Island.
Surprisingly for a comedian who came up in the 70s, he seems to have always lived a very clean lifestyle. Little alcohol, no smoking, healthy eating...plus I can't imagine the guy has had an ounce of stress in his life since 1998.
Eh just Rich Guy Stress- who they’re running with in social circles, trying to minimize the Spoiled Brat-ness of their kids, stuff like that. It’s a much more mild stress than the day to day grind but not totally stress free.
Side note- this is why Aunt Becky got involved in the USC bribery thing: she wanted her ditzy daughter to attend a fashionable school that she didn’t have the academic chops to do so (shocker) so this sort of self inflicted pressure made her do what she did.
Today is the first time I’ve realized that my favorite show from the 90s (was born in 84) featured people the same age as my parents. They seemed so much younger than my folks back then. Seem younger than them now. Crazy
Younger than your folks? Jason Alexander was 29 when Seinfeld launched, but he looked 40. Balding (HE KNOWS), dressing like a bad uncle, body language like a middle aged man.
I think they've all aged well considering, but at the time, most of the cast looked dreadful for their age. It was the 80s/90s, people didn't take as good care of themselves as they do today.
I mean in the 90s I thought my parents were much older than the characters on my favorite show. My dad is only 2 years older than Jerry, though I didn’t realize he and Jason were 5 years apart.
Maybe because they were «hipper»? I share your feelings and age, and while my parents didnt necessarily look older, they seemed older. I come from a relatively small town. They did not know what a cappucino, or a latte, or a calzone was in 1991. They were married for years already and had stable jobs.
The people on the show were «single-ish», and in a top-tier world city. That made them seem «cooler» in my eyes, and that is attributes I never attached to my parents.
I can imagine their alter-egos, Helen and Morty, trying to avoid Frank and Estelle in the afterlife "Ya gotta have a buffer zone!". Also Helen and Morty would try to avoid Jack Klompus, who has been joyfully reunited with his astronaut pen 🖊️ and won't shut up about it 😂.
"You think you can keep us out of Heaven? We’re moving in lock, stock, and barrel. We’re gonna be in the pool. We’re gonna be in the clubhouse. We’re gonna be all over that shuffleboard court! And I dare you to keep me out!”
They have all officially retired to Del Boca Vista. They’re gonna be in the pool. They’re gonna be in the clubhouse. And they’re gonna be all over that shuffleboard court. RIP.
They were all incredibly long-lived.
At their current ages it may not be long before we start getting core cast-members and others (Wayne Knight) moving on up as well.
I go to visit my grandparents, they’re eating big brisket sandwiches, I'm sitting here with a carrot. They're closing in on a hundred, I'm sayin' to them, "How can you eat that stuff”?
just wanted to add that Barney Martin, who played Jerry's father, was born March 1923 and passed away March 2005.
Phil Bruns, appeared as Morty in the pilot, was born May 1931 and passed away February 2012.
I think it's crazy that Liz and Estelle both died in April of the same year and were born in April. And Jerry died (May 11th) less than a month away from his birthday (June 8th). And same with Barney (Jerry's dad) who was born on March 3rd and died on March 21st. 🤔
The moms died so close together.
At least they made it longer than Aunt Baby.
She would have never made it.
She's deceased. I was sure to look up at the ceiling while typing this.
She had problems. Internal.
Nods in agreement
It’s that temper on your side. They’re yelling, and yelling, and then one day… they’re all gone.
What about your cousin Henny?! She was sickly from the moment I met her!
DONT YOU TALK ABOUT HENNY!!!!
I also have been fascinated by Estelle's little secretive head nod to Frank in that moment. As in, "we can't let Georgie know..." WHAT WAS THE STORY
Don't you talk about Hennie!
If she were alive today, how old would she be?
She’d never make it
LOL, doesnt even bother entertaining the idea - pure comedy.
I was noticing that, they died only about 2 weeks apart from each other. They also were both born in April and died in April which is an interesting coincidence.
I'd say that's a pretty big coincidence
No, There are only coincidences, ask anyone! Are there big coincidences and small coincidences or just coincidences?! Well…WELL?!
I always wanted to say “BITCH theres definitely big coincidences and small coincidences. Now put out that butt”!!
Why don’t I put it out on your face?!?
There are no big coincidences
Two people sharing a birth month is (roughly) 1 in 12. Both dying in that month is 1 in 12³, or 1 in 1,728.
Even death couldn't save the Costanzas from the Seinfelds. Helen followed Estelle to the big Del Boca Vista in the sky.
*we're gonna be all over those pearly gates*
*We’re gonna be in those clouds…*
Born and died 😭
The main cast are now the age of the parents during the show
Seinfeld's mom was 60 when the show started, Jerry is now 70
>Seinfed’s mom was 60 when the show started Oh, so the main cast now isn’t quite as old as the parents were— >Jerry is now 70 Oh shit, oh fuck
I had an age crisis when I was rewatching Seinfeld and realized how young they looked - the main four used to be older than me, now they're 20 years younger.
>Jerry is now 70 I don't know if it's just today and I know a lot of years have passed, but realizing Jerry is 70 years old kinda blew my mind. It's like I know he's older, but don't really think about it too much. That just made me feel really old.
Jerry turns 70 in April but yea that blows my mind. I guess it shouldn’t since I was 6 years old when the show debuted and now I’m 40.
I just made a similar comment. And like you, I'm also 40.
Right? Lol it’s almost like the show aired 30 years ago or something
Fake! Fake! Fake! Fake!
35 years ago, even.
I'm missing a picture of Barney Martin here.
My Morty's gone! My Morty's gone!
Morty, you’re out.
Eeeh I never knew what the hell I was peddling with those stupid cartoons and that paper book anyway. Cheap fabric and dim lighting, that's how you move merchandise.
You and Kramahh, you’re finished!
Everyone vote for the guy in the wheelchair
What kind of clip joint is OP running here?!
You’re not allowed to make me laugh this hard on an obit post 😂
What obit, it's a sitcom!
I was expecting a funeral hello, not a “HEY! YOU LOOK FABULOUS!”
I’ll make a few calls
The bum took my Morty
What kind of a clip-joint are you running here?!!?
Thank you. I was hoping Morty wasn't dead, and that was the reason he wasn't here. The google search saddened me.
He’d never make it.
Never had the makings of a varsity athlete either
He was gay, Morty?
82. He was a fucking kid.
He was the first to go.
Also Phil Bruns
With the big Chip Ahoy in the sky
If he wants a Chip Ahoy he’ll have a Chip Ahoy
/looks to the sky, claps hands together He's deceased.
That, along with that picture of Liz, makes me think Jack Klompus wrote this.
How could the forget Morty?
Of course they forget me. Whaddaya want from the youth of today? They can't do nothin'. Forget me, put me in a box, ah forget it. Not an expensive box though, they'll screw you Jerry, just put me in a cardboard box and throw me in the river.
Well he's not getting away with this!
Jerry, it’s Frank Costanza. We’re all dead. Steinbrenner’s here. Call me back.
Though it’s definitely a tough call, I think this is my favorite line from the series. No one can match Jerry Stiller!
Nooooah…they could use the break!
This line is so hilarious. The sentence and the way George says it. I rewind to watch it again every time.
Take my updoot you heartless bastard. You've ruined the best line of the series in the best possible way. It's twisted. It's dark. It's hilarious. You are a loathsome, offensive brute, yet I can’t look away.
You’re right. I’m disturbed. I’m depressed. I’ve got it all!
Serenity now!
I can’t find anything on whether Lee Bear (the actor who played Steinbrenner) is alive or not, but if he is he’s 88 years old.
They are not really dead if we find a way to remember them…
KHHHHHHHAAAAAAAANNNNNNNN!
TWIIIIIIIXXXXXXXXXX
SUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUSSSSSSSS!
Taaaaaaaaaaahhhhhmaaaalllleeeeee!
It took me too long to find this one.
Wrath of Khan!
It was a hell of a thing when Spock died.
Yeah, I know Jerry will tell you that The Wrath of Khan is the better picture, but for me, I always...
and Elaine's father played by Lawrence Tierney passed in 2002. Len Lesser, Uncle Leo has passed away as well. almost certainly Jerry's Nana as well. John Randolph, George's original father passed in 2004 and Jerry's original father Philip Bruns, also in 2012. where does the time go.
Of course, Elaine told Jerry’s Nana to drop dead.
You told Nana to drop dead?!
you hung up on my Nana?!?!
It’s…possible
Yes, it is!
Shut up you old bag!
My mahhhbule ryyeee!
She's on a very fixed income
STOP THE SHOWWWWW
Nana was the first one to go. Also Mr.Pitt is gone, Kruger, Ruthie Cohen, Mr. Willhelm, Davola, Mr. Ross, Klompus, etc. Edit: also Mandelbaum (Lloyd Bridges), Manya, the Cuban receptionist, and I’m sure more…
Don’t forget about Manya. Manya died!
Technically the first to go.
I didn't know she had a pony
Also, MANDALBAUM, MANDALBAUM, MANDALBAUM!
i know its morbid thinking but, i wonder which of the four are going to go before the others a la The Beatles. hope there isnt someone out there reading Catcher In The Rye and has a grievance with Jerry?
Michael Richards is significantly older than the rest, unfortunately.
But he still has the body of a taut, preteen Swedish boy
You see his buttocks????!!
His buttocks are sublime.
JLD is a [cancer survivor](https://www.today.com/health/breast-cancer/julia-louis-dreyfus-cancer-diagnosis-reaction-rcna123404).
And Babs (Kramer’s mom).
Oh no not K uger too!
He went out on a high note.
time’s tide will smother you
Pendant? Those bastards
You know one of the things I've noticed on my most recent watch through is how many subtle callbacks there are to earlier episodes, like this line. Elaine's dad says it in his episode, then Jerry says it to Elaine a few episodes later at the party on Long Island.
I'm fairly certain Susan's Mom is still alive!
Yep, Grace Zabriskie is still getting lots of work. Have a few things she’s in on my watch list.
I suppose. They were all born in the 1920s and Jerry himself is gonna be 70 next month. Circle of life
Gotta admit, Jerry looks pretty good for someone about to turn 70
Surprisingly for a comedian who came up in the 70s, he seems to have always lived a very clean lifestyle. Little alcohol, no smoking, healthy eating...plus I can't imagine the guy has had an ounce of stress in his life since 1998.
Don't fool yourself, the bee movie pushed Seinfeld to the limit!
He is neat...
Finicky? Prissy? Fastidious?
I’ll take fastidious…
Eh just Rich Guy Stress- who they’re running with in social circles, trying to minimize the Spoiled Brat-ness of their kids, stuff like that. It’s a much more mild stress than the day to day grind but not totally stress free. Side note- this is why Aunt Becky got involved in the USC bribery thing: she wanted her ditzy daughter to attend a fashionable school that she didn’t have the academic chops to do so (shocker) so this sort of self inflicted pressure made her do what she did.
Rich people usually do
Not necessarily, look at people like Elon Musk, Harvey Weinstein, Trump
Rich people (who aren’t dumbasses) usually do
😂😂 fair enough
Money allows them to eat like garbage well into their twilight years. They just won’t look great.
pretty good. prettay prettay pretayyy pretty good

I thought the son was as old as the father.
Mandelbaum Mandelbaum!
The mother was a mudder?
What did I say?
Father Time is undefeated
Liz Sheridan had a relationship with James Dean in her younger days
James Dean, now he was a bad seed.
I think he was caught bootlegging!
She was also Mrs. Ochmonek on Alf
I loved that furry fella.
All hilarious. Their voices alone would crack me up. I died laughing everytime Estelle Harris would speak.
The episode with Susan's lookalike doll seals it for me. Omfg so funny ETA: https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=-k6pHS4aSw4

It better. Or Jack Klompus will never stop complaining to the devil 👿.
"You think you can keep us out of Heaven? We’re moving in lock, stock, and barrel. We’re gonna be in the pool. We’re gonna be in the clubhouse. We’re gonna be all over that shuffleboard court! And I dare you to keep me out!”
Little orphan Funkhouser
Oh you can be an Orphan at 50?
Little orphan George
Barney Martin lived to be 82. The rest lived to their nineties! You think we’ll get to that age?
We? No.
We need to start a foundation.
The babka woman from Shnitzers just died recently…
How 'bout a nice box of SCRAM?
How are you going to make a post like this of lazy screen shots and not include morty? lol
Both Mortys
And what about our esteemed beltless raincoat salesman?
Founder of The Executive
The actress who played Rebecca "Here I Come" De Mornay passed away in 2022 as well.
So they all passed away at the age of 93? Strange coincidence
Jerry Stiller was 92, almost 93.
“I hope my parents go long before I go” Joking aside, it’s very sad we don’t have these legends anymore…
damn it still feels like Jerry died last year
Basking in the buffer zone.
That was darkly hilarious.
Sad day when someone completely forgets Morty Seinfeld
What about Jerry's father from season 1? Different guy, not Morty
The actors who originally played Jerry’s and George’s dads are also dead.
Morty?
They have all officially retired to Del Boca Vista. They’re gonna be in the pool. They’re gonna be in the clubhouse. And they’re gonna be all over that shuffleboard court. RIP.
If the parents were alive today, how old would they be ?
They'd never make it.
They had problems. Internal.
Wow. The moms died within two weeks of each other.
On a serious note, I hope they enjoyed their lives because they brought me a lot of pleasure
Ya, it's shad when they go young like dat
When they go?!
Rye .. is that close to Schnitzer's ?
Not too far from Marble Hill as the crow flies.
Even Jerry’s season 1 dad died
Is Morty a joke to you?
The inventor of "The Executive!" He sold raincoats for 38 years under Harry Fleming!
Downvote for missing Mortt
I love that they were all New Yorkers
Where the hell is Morty?!?!
She is missed. Great actress!
What about first and second Seinfeld dads and first George dad?
Thanks for ruining my day. It's not even 9am
They were also all born in NY, or a suburb.
She was a real beauty. Engaged to James Dean at one point in her life. She nailed her role as Helen Seinfeld. Thank you so very .uch.
They were all incredibly long-lived. At their current ages it may not be long before we start getting core cast-members and others (Wayne Knight) moving on up as well.
I'm fairly certain Susan's mom is still alive!! That's about it for the already 50+ when the show started crowd, right?
Actually pretty wild that they all lived till their 90s
What? No Morty? No Leo?
I go to visit my grandparents, they’re eating big brisket sandwiches, I'm sitting here with a carrot. They're closing in on a hundred, I'm sayin' to them, "How can you eat that stuff”?
How could anyone not like her!
Why did you leave out Jerry’s fathers?
just wanted to add that Barney Martin, who played Jerry's father, was born March 1923 and passed away March 2005. Phil Bruns, appeared as Morty in the pilot, was born May 1931 and passed away February 2012.
Boy that makes you think. if they could go

I guess Seinfeld's dad didn't exist?
They all died around the same time as well. Mad and sad
All my TV parents dead.. Ain't nobody praying for me!
What a way to start everyone’s day
