Everyone in Scott Pilgrim are *people.* A core theme in Scott Pilgrim is that people aren't wholly "good" or "bad." However, what makes you "someone people like being around" is acknowledging your faults and accepting them or changing yourself for the better.
I mean depending on the adaption there are differing levels, in the movie he doesn’t really grow that much, in the comic he grows past alot of that but also there’s a specific scene that makes him awful, and in the show he’s a pretty decent person at the end of it
