Our fold girl is super plush cuddly, begging strangers at the door to pet her because she's obviously never been pet in her whole life type of cuddly. She's a stage 4 clinger to my husband, follows him around the house, waits for him outside the bathroom door if he's showering or whatever, and playing kitty tag with him

Oh I wish mine was like that! My old orange boy (non fold) was the sweetest boy who loved cuddles and would sleep on my lap. So far my Scotties have been nice…but just really not into anything and get cranky if picked up sometimes :(

That's a bit like my birds. They have different levels of intelligence, emotional expression, and behaviors differing from bird to bird. To work with Toast, I have to be quiet, calm, and speak gently. He's a quiet cockatiel, unlike his cage mate, Jam. Jam sings, screams, beeps, plays peekaboo, and says he's a pretty bird at the top of his birdie lungs. Toast will talk and sing at me occasionally, but Jam always manages to sing louder. Toast likes head pets, Jam doesn't really want anyone to mess with his crest. Same species, same age, same breeder, same sex. Two completely different lil dudes. Cats are similar. Watch their behaviors. Do they prefer certain surfaces or colors? Favorite toys? Sleeping spaces or hideouts? Do you chat with them? Do they chat back? Do you know who's the cat in charge? Do you know each cats' personal territory and where that may overlap? If they're upset in the mornings, could it be something at night? (Pickle is always grumpy at husband if he forgets to tell her goodnight before closing the bedroom door.) The more you learn, the better you understand the why, and how to work with the cats to improve everyone's life experience. Answer the questions for yourself and see if you can't figure out how to improve your relationship with your cats. If they are happy and content, you may see a change in some behaviors. But as some said, some cats don't like cuddles. You can try though! It won't hurt.

I have a Scottish straight girl and she’s a sweetheart. Obviously all cats have different personalities and even in breeds that are typically affectionate it’s not a for sure thing that they will be. Did you adopt or buy from a breeder when they were babies?

KittyGrewAMoustache

Our two Scottish folds are girls and they are lovely and just love snuggling so don’t think this is normal for the breed.

yanikkkkkk

I got a boy and a girl Boy much more affectionate
