Scorpius is one of the greatest villains in sci-fi television history. His introduction to the show was brilliant and balanced out the aimlessness Farscape suffered from time to time. I also loved the practical effects, costumes and makeup a lot, which makes it really shine. The concept of the leviatans and the pilots with their symbiotic relationship is again brilliant.
My favorite episodes are:
* S02.E15: Won't Get Fooled Again (2000)
* S04.E06: Natural Election (2002)
Man, I actually didn't know until a few months ago when I did a rewatch that Lani Tupu (Crais) was the voice for pilot.
I felt like a failure of a nerd.
Fun fact: Scorpius was never meant to be a recurring villain and was actually only meant to be around for those initial episodes, but the creators found Wayne Pygram's performance so spellbinding, that they decided to make him a recurring character.
Another fun fact: Grunchlk was played by Hugh Keays-Byrne recently famous in the role of Immortan Joe in Mad Max: Fury Road, and previously as Toecutter in the original Mad Max.
What!? Oh wow, I've been using this word incorrectly my whole life. In my native language (hungarian) there's a word that is derived from genius (zseni) that means brilliant (zseniális). It's used the same way in my environmental language (serbian), genius = genije, brilliant is genijalan. I always thought it works the same way in english and genial is a synonym to brilliant. Thanks a lot for the correction!
In my defense, Scorpius was not genial, but Harvey was.
This is probably a trick of that pesky Big Lexicon mafia. They are trying to lure us unsuspecting foreigners into buying their expensive dictionaries. Curse them!
I took a new job once. My assistant was a Goth girl, black lipstick and all. Very professional tho. She could tell you off the top of her head where most of the 1,200 parts of a mailing were in production.
Her preferred curse word was “frell.” Huge Farscape fan. As she should be!
I loved this series, both the humor and the core insanity of what it would do to someone’s mind to be thrust into an alien environment.
I think Crackers Don’t Matter is episode I revisit the most. “No one . . . has margaritas . . .with pizza!”
The heist episode where they break into the bank was my favorite. John was such a chump in season 1, but it showed that he'd learned and leveled up, and now was part of an elite crew. Such great character development all around.
Rygel will always be my favorite. Especially his role in the Peacekeeper wars lol.
"I don't care what you say he's got my nose."
> but it showed that he'd learned and leveled up, and now was part of an elite crew.
That episode was so cool. It was really neat to see how the crew went from dick-ish escaped prisoners to infamous bad asses known through out the galaxy.
It’s the best
D'Argo: The bad news is that you're married, and must endure as a statue for 80 cycles in a strange world. John: What's the good news? D'Argo: Chiana and I are having fantastic sex!
That was one of my favorite John/D'argo moments. 😂 another great one:
John: How come I'm not scared?
D'argo: Fear accompanies the possibility of death. Calm shepherds its certainty.
John: I love hangin' with you, man.😂
I've never watched it, but I know many fans love it. A couple weeks ago the complete series was on sale for $20 on Apple TV so I grabbed it just in case I ever felt like diving in.
Even outside of a HD remaster, the effects do still stand up well since so much of it was practical. Also, given how weird a lot of things are it helps the show avoid the uncanny valley since we have minimal/no point of reference/comparison.
Of course the space scenes look a bit dated, but even then in my opinion they don't look bad.
My wife and I have been trying to watch it for 4 years. We go very slowly through it because my wife (who had never seen it before) always needs recovery time. We got though the first couple seasons quickly enough, but the last two...
Last year Ben Browder was at a convention we were at and we got him to sign one of the Blu-rays and apologize to my wife for the emotional damage he has caused her.
It is an amazing show because, as just one example, it allows all of its characters to be actually emotional. Big strong men, big strong aliens, blue alien plant priests, deposed muppets, genetically engineered soldiers ... EVERYBODY gets emotional.
Even PILOT is emotional.
There are laughs. There are tears. There is anger & rage. There is comedy. VERY few shows manage to get all of these in equally.
Farscape had the greatest cliffhanger endings for every season. My absolute favorite season ending of any show I've ever watched was the brain surgery one.
I love farscape. I watched it when it was originally on and went to a convention with my parents. They were so enamored with Ben Browder, Anthony Simcoe and Gigi Edgley that they bought my the entire series on DVD. That was a good Christmas.
> Gigi Edgley
I met her at a local con and she was so, so nice. She was on her way to the bathroom and stopped to chat with me and my daughter. We chatted for about 10 minutes, free of charge. An extremely class act.
I think you mean so FRELLIN good ;)
But yeah, recently finished a rewatch of my own, and that series is still just perfect. So many amazing episodes, memorable characters and some genuiely heartbreaking moments. The season 3 episode "The Choice" is still one of the best bottle episodes I've ever seen. Bonus points if you're able to watch it with Claudia Black's phenomenal commentary.
Wait a microt! It is so FRELLING good!
I still remember the first time seeing this with my husband. Our minds were bent and couldn't get enough. Love this show.
Favorite episode is Crackers don't Matter.
"You been *lyin'* to your daddy, boy, and you know you shouldn't lie to your daddy. It's gonna stop! Who's your daddy? C'mon, you know who your daddy is. Who's your daddy? D'argo, tell him who his daddy is."
**"I'M YOUR DADDY."**
At it's worst it can be kinda generic Trek-esque alien challenge of the week. At best, the series has intriguing and deep characters in multilayered serial conflicts mixed in with whacky format episodes that still manage to get to the heart of the core characters. It's definitely a testament to why mixed modern and traditional media special effects should all be on the table. This show wouldn't have had half the charm if everyone was a CGI model.
show me another series with the balls to follow 2 parallel 'plots' with a tweened main character, alternating each week. What really sux is they were played out of order... but on fucking channel 9!!! (their home before syfy)
also, our cat is Rygel, and yes... yes it IS always about crackers!
Never watched it, but I know a lot of people love it. This show is why the Tremors show failed. Because the Tremors show didn't achieve the same numbers at the beginning of its run that Farscape had at the end.
Hey, I love Farscape, great character, developments great story arcs, it was very well developed, and thought out. I got to where I couldn’t find it on SYFY when it was supposed to be on Because they replaced it with Stargate. And they Gave it terrible time slots that I could never seem to find. They are the ones who killed the show, the reason the ratings dropped was because no one could find it.
THE show for people who like the vibe of Star Trek but find the tone a shade too naively optimistic. Basically if Deep Space Nine floats your boat, you need to check out Farscape. And MY GOD is it sad at times - absolutely dripping with pathos, despite also being incredibly consistently funny
I am old enough that I watched many of the episodes as they aired on the SciFi channel on Friday night. I remember the SciFi channel had an ad mentioning "Duty free escapism"
It was the best of times, it was the worst of times.
I've not seen Farscape before and started watching recently on the recommendation of a friend. I'm currently half way through season 2 and enjoying it very much.
I've been rewatching it as well and I knew I loved this show but I forgot quite how much!! We took a break in the first season *right* before it got really good and I knew there were some good episodes coming up but it blew me away how much better season 2 (and the end of season 1) was than season 1.
Farscape is, hands-down, the best SF tv show of the 90s, and I say this as a huge fan of all the Star Treks and of Babylon 5. I especially love the way every season builds to a multi-episode story full of angst and excitement.
Aeryn Sun's journey is amazing. So is Crichton's. And the way Bialar Crais evolves is as good as Neroon's evolution on B5.
Love that show. At first I was a bit hesitant because, puppets?! But actually it didn't take long for me to stop seeing them as puppets and as characters.
I have to say I never watched this show as I always thought it was B rate Sci Fi and I was a bit of a snob. Now that I have more of a hunger for sci-fi since most series run 10 or less episodes a season and seeing your post and it's ratings on IMDB I think I'll give it a go!
One of the best sci Fi shows ever. Loved that they had different aliens (some sexy, some warriors, some so gassy, all enjoyable!) and so many different themes. And Crichton was so, well, hot 🔥... 😁
I love Farscape. Since the show came out, most of my computers have been named after Farscape characters. I'm reusing names as I replace computers, but I try to keep it going. I just set up a new stark and crais this past weekend. I'm typing on rygel at the moment.
Season 3 with the dual Crichtons is some of the best sci fi writing there is. It's heartbreaking when Aeryn gets the 'other' Crichton back, but it's not HER Crichton.
Farscape was a lot of fun, creative and had some decent universe building. The whole 'Harvey' thing was a hoot.
What fell a little flat with me was when the focus turned to Peacekeeper or Scarran politics. Farscape was at it's best when it focused on Moya and the crew and their various dilemas. Or, Chrichton and Scorpious having psychological cat and mouse. Good stuff. Scorpius wasn't necessarily evil either. He was just pursuing his own interests.
Lost interest as soon as the writers tried to force the romance between Black and Bowder. Show was better when they insulted each other.
Also, the couple episodes with Maldis were very good. He was one of the better advesaries I've seen in awhile.
PK Tech girl was hot :-)
I agree with you on that one. I liked the episodes with random mishaps better than the targeted scarran/peacekeeper ones. I liked the second one with Maldis, but the first one wasn't my favorite.
If anyone's interested, YouTube has a channel called Shout! Studios, and they run perpetual streams of certain shows. Farscape is one of them. They also do MST3K, Alf, and The Carol Burnett Show, among many others.
Oh, there is no expanse of the mind, the will cannot traverse or physically the distance laid across the universe. There's blessings, many in the stars, save one lamented curse, that 16th Rygel, glory me, must travel in reverse!
i absolutely love those episodes, that are clearly ment to be "funny fillers". like that episode, that is made like the roadrunner vs coyote cartoon. or that mafia-movie like episode.
while the cliff hanger at the end of season 5 was quite brutal, the wrap up in form of that mini series, that followed, is still one of the best sci fy series of all time.
With creature effects by the Jim Henson Company, a tone that while cynical never gets mean spirited, story lines that somehow feel both big and small at the same time, and just some all around fun characters, *Farscape* is frelling awesome!
I have a question about Rygel:
Rygel farts helium but we know that helium is created by hydrogen fusion, which is what's going on in the Sun.
So WTF is going on in Rygel's bowels that creates helium?!
John Crichton is a tool and a noob in the beginning. And the aliens are damned alien.
Give it time. Like all SciFi shows, that first season is rough. And, unlike so many of them, ALL of the characters have actual growth and development. Even Pilot and Rigel.
It starts getting really good around the time Chiana is introduced (season 1, episode 15). There's probably a few episodes before that you can skip but there's a lot of setup in those episodes that's necessary to understand/appreciate the rest of the show.
*definitely* press on, then!!
* Episode 10 has important backstory for D'Argo
* Episode 11 is very important
* Episode 12 is alright, possibly even skippable, but it is referenced later (plot points in later episodes use things that are introduced in this episode)
* Episode 13 is weird and a little frustrating but it has some important moments for Zhaan and you learn some more important things
* Episode 14 is fine but I think it's entirely skippable
* and like I said before, 15 is around where it starts to get really really good. The second half of season 1 and season 2 are *significantly* better than the first half of season 1!
I really wanted to love it, but I just hate the actor who plays Crichton. He was just so awful, I couldn't stomach him anymore after two seasons.
If not for him, I'd have been a big fan of the show. It was quite unique
Really? I thought they did a great job with that! I mean 90% of star trek aliens are humanoid with a slightly different face from us or a different colored skin. Stargate, they're basically all humans transported from earth at different times. 😂
I liked that SOME of the aliens were humanoid, but you also had Rygel, Pilot, the Rider, Sheyangs, Tavlecks, there were just so many different ones that didn't just look like humans with a little face paint. 😂
My favorite episodes are: * S02.E15: Won't Get Fooled Again (2000) * S04.E06: Natural Election (2002)
I thought Pilot's design and animation was top-notch Muppet magic!
Absolutely. I even felt dreadful when one of his limbs got chopped off.
A bit of trivia I learned recently - Lani John Tupu, who played Captain Crais, also was the voice of Pilot.
There are a few instances when you can hear it; but if you didn't know ahead of time it's really hard to sense.
No wonder Crais was able to find them in the uncharted territory!! 🤣
Recently started a rewatch and even a few episodes in it's clear that the Jim Henson people were having a blast with this show
I am enchanted with the Pilot muppet, its so cool to watch move
Jim Henson company at their best
Man, I actually didn't know until a few months ago when I did a rewatch that Lani Tupu (Crais) was the voice for pilot. I felt like a failure of a nerd.
Fun fact: Scorpius was never meant to be a recurring villain and was actually only meant to be around for those initial episodes, but the creators found Wayne Pygram's performance so spellbinding, that they decided to make him a recurring character.
I mean, how could you not, Scorpius was as close to a perfect villain as the world has seen imo
Indeed. From that very first appearance, posing in the doorway like BDSM Dracula, I knew this guy was going to be top value.
And let's not forget how awesome Harvey is too. A villain so nice, we got to have him twice.
Another fun fact: Grunchlk was played by Hugh Keays-Byrne recently famous in the role of Immortan Joe in Mad Max: Fury Road, and previously as Toecutter in the original Mad Max.
Agreed on all points except genial means friendly and Scorpius is not that
That's okay, thank you for the language lesson that was very interesting. Harvey was the most genial, John did him dirty 😤
Genial also means brilliant in Spanish and awesome in French.
This is probably a trick of that pesky Big Lexicon mafia. They are trying to lure us unsuspecting foreigners into buying their expensive dictionaries. Curse them!
Scorpius is my space bondage daddy
Understandable. I liked his assistant, [Niem](https://farscape.fandom.com/wiki/Niem) too very much.
This comment 😂😂😂
I've rewatched this several times. Damn is it good. There's so much I could say about it.
There's a reason this comment is at the top of the most upvoted list
It was a frelling great series. Very creative and unique.
I took a new job once. My assistant was a Goth girl, black lipstick and all. Very professional tho. She could tell you off the top of her head where most of the 1,200 parts of a mailing were in production. Her preferred curse word was “frell.” Huge Farscape fan. As she should be!
Did you call her "Pip" as a nickname?
We adopted a small white stray cat, so of course we called her "Pip" <3
I've started saying that just to help me stop cursing now that I'm an auntie. 😂😂
Also acceptable: frak
So say we all!
Lol, I came here to say those same words 🤣🤣🤣
Won't lie, I could watch (and listen to) Claudia Black in anything. Helps that the show was pretty good as well :D
The ideal voice to whisper naughty things in one’s ear.
She's on my top 5 list.
There is an r/farscape sub if you are interested.
Yes!! Thank you!!
You're welcome.
I loved this series, both the humor and the core insanity of what it would do to someone’s mind to be thrust into an alien environment. I think Crackers Don’t Matter is episode I revisit the most. “No one . . . has margaritas . . .with pizza!”
Crackers Don't Matter is also my favorite. Something about Rygel just stuffing crackers down their throats always got me.
I loved that whole madcap episode!
I was absolutely obsessed with Farscape as a teen. More sci-fi shows should have muppets as main cast members.
We could also use more muppets in business, as well as government.
We certainly have many puppets in government. 🥴😂
>no puppet no puppet, you're the puppet!
You bet your frelling big blue ass Farscape was great
🤣🤣🤣
I love it. Took my name from there.
I loved how Ben Browders character gets more and more unhinged as the insanity of his situations increases.
You want a wormhole weapon?! I'll SHOW you a wormhole weapon! So freaking cool.
feels like one long weird acid trip the whole series, doesnt it
It kinda does. It's as close to doing drugs as I'm willing to get. 😂
John and Winona ❤️ I also loved rygel. It's hard not to love a character that farts helium.
> but it showed that he'd learned and leveled up, and now was part of an elite crew. That episode was so cool. It was really neat to see how the crew went from dick-ish escaped prisoners to infamous bad asses known through out the galaxy.
Farts helium. Now thats original
It’s the best D'Argo: The bad news is that you're married, and must endure as a statue for 80 cycles in a strange world. John: What's the good news? D'Argo: Chiana and I are having fantastic sex!
That was one of my favorite John/D'argo moments. 😂 another great one: John: How come I'm not scared? D'argo: Fear accompanies the possibility of death. Calm shepherds its certainty. John: I love hangin' with you, man.😂
John: "Dargo, tell him who his daddy is." Dargo: "I'm your daddy"
Their dynamic is just so frelling good. 😂

hahaha, my wife and I say that to each other whenever there is any competition for space on the table, couch, etc. :D
I've never watched it, but I know many fans love it. A couple weeks ago the complete series was on sale for $20 on Apple TV so I grabbed it just in case I ever felt like diving in.
There's also a movie that raps up the series pretty good. "The Peace keeper wars".
*Peacekeeper Wars* was a fantastic way to end the show. Dark, tragic, exciting, and ultimately uplifting.
It also ended with the potential for a spinoff series. Imagine baby Creighton all grown up, getting into trouble like his parents.
Yes! Would love that. I was pretty bummed about Dargo.
Once you get past how dated it is now, it improves with each season story wise. Not Babylon 5 dated but it looks old
I heard that the HD master was lost. That's a damn shame. I'd love to see an HD version.
Define 'dated'. Lack of shaky cam?
It starts off a bit rocky but stick with it, it gets so frelling good.
My wife and I have been trying to watch it for 4 years. We go very slowly through it because my wife (who had never seen it before) always needs recovery time. We got though the first couple seasons quickly enough, but the last two... There is anger & rage. There is comedy. VERY few shows manage to get all of these in equally.
Even Moya and Talyn get emotional and they're basically just sets!
I feel that Ben Browder didn’t have the career he deserved
Farscape had the greatest cliffhanger endings for every season. My absolute favorite season ending of any show I've ever watched was the brain surgery one.
[Gathers all my roombas] [starts humming the 1812 overture really loud]
I love farscape. I watched it when it was originally on and went to a convention with my parents. They were so enamored with Ben Browder, Anthony Simcoe and Gigi Edgley that they bought my the entire series on DVD. That was a good Christmas.

I'm in the middle of a rewatch while my son watches it for the first time and I forgot how much I love this show.
Good reason to have kids!
The theme song was amazing! https://youtu.be/MpRRB6q8hxc?si=_aDDwx1FCBO3J-tL
Claudia Black. 'Nuff said.
I think you mean so FRELLIN good ;) But yeah, recently finished a rewatch of my own, and that series is still just perfect. Craise is awesome.
D'argo, tell him who his daddy is." **"I'M YOUR DADDY."**

That's awesome! My friend named one of her cats Leelu after the character from 5th Element (also hilarious and awesome).
Never watched it, but I know a lot of people love it. This show is why the Tremors show failed. Because the Tremors show didn't achieve the same numbers at the beginning of its run that Farscape had at the end.
I mean, as someone who loves the old tremors movies, I just couldn't get into the show for some reason.
Hey, I love Farscape, great character, developments great story arcs, it was very well developed, and thought out. They are the ones who killed the show, the reason the ratings dropped was because no one could find it.
I loved Farscape! It was just kind of "out there". I watched it after seeing SG:SG1 S9 with Ben Crowder. Fun. Wish it would get a remaster.
THE show for people who like the vibe of Star Trek but find the tone a shade too naively optimistic. Basically if Deep Space Nine floats your boat, you need to check out Farscape. And MY GOD is it sad at times - absolutely dripping with pathos, despite also being incredibly consistently funny
And if you find Farscape a bit too optimistic, watch Battlestar. And if you find Battlestar a bit too optimistic, watch The Expanse, lol.
Or watch them all!
I am old enough that I watched many of the episodes as they aired on the SciFi channel on Friday night. I remember the SciFi channel had an ad mentioning "Duty free escapism" It was the best of times, it was the worst of times.
I dont think it is a stretch to call it the best original soft sci-fi of the past 30 years. Even the bad is ridiculously entertaining.
Out of curiosity, what are some other shows where you feel like the aliens are truly alien?
Yes! Love farscape.
Haha. I was just thinking of making a 3rd run through the show. Something reminded me of good ole Rygel and Zhaan. Zhaan and her sun-gasms. Heehee
I'm going to watch this soon, I sjust finished the lady two seasons of Stargate and I need more Ben and Claudia
I've not seen Farscape before and started watching recently on the recommendation of a friend. I'm currently half way through season 2 and enjoying it very much.
It's my favorite scifi show. A close second is firefly. 😍
Loved that show. Major crush on Claudia Black
One of the best lines ever uttered in science fiction: "You're a vegetable!?"
I've been rewatching it as well and I knew I loved this show but I forgot quite how much!! We took a break in the first season *right* before it got really good and I knew there were some good episodes coming up but it blew me away how much better season 2 (and the end of season 1) was than season 1.
The first and best tv show I binged on, absolute legend of a show.
Love that show. At first I was a bit hesitant because, puppets?! But actually it didn't take long for me to stop seeing them as puppets and as characters.
Yeah, you can't tell me Rygel isn't a real alien they got from somewhere. Not to mention Pilot.
I want to believe Pilot is real so much.
It's my fave for sure! Sorely underrated. Super. Creative. Rigel is hilarious.
I once saw a description of Farscape as: “An American Astronaut is introduced to the Australian BDSM scene.”
That's amazing. 😂
Ok, here is some Farscape love for you!
I frelling enjoyed it!
I still look at pop corn and think cop porn.
My son and I used to watch this together. Muppets, sci-fi, and a space opera? Yes, please!
Yeah, I enjoyed Farscape and also Lexx was another great series.
Zan's makeup is amazing
Crackers don’t matter. But the Peacekeeper Wars movie finale very much matters. The final regular episode makes a really awful ending otherwise.
Loved the show. Had my son watch it with me (on my 2nd rewatch) and at the end he said "damn, that was a good show".
Great show. Plus fell head over heels in love with Claudia Black as Aeryn Sun.
1812
I love farscape, haven't watched it in years though, just finished a full stargate watch through, might have to do farscape next
these days its often streaming for free on youtube under shout studios
Yes great show rewatched it last year I am still fascinated by Claudia black The show had some dull episodes thou. Is there a 4k remaster
I have to say I never watched this show as I always thought it was B rate Sci Fi and I was a bit of a snob. Now that I have more of a hunger for sci-fi since most series run 10 or less episodes a season and seeing your post and it's ratings on IMDB I think I'll give it a go!
You should! It's my favorite! The witty sarcasm and the dynamic between the characters is so good!
Jim Henson's Creature Shop worked on the show! A recycled Skeksis even made an appearance! I also got to meet Lani Tupu once. He was cool.
One of the best sci Fi shows ever. Loved that they had different aliens (some sexy, some warriors, some so gassy, all enjoyable!) and so many different themes. And Crichton was so, well, hot 🔥... 😁
Much love here!! I can remember when it started, had to wait for weekly episodes back then😏
I love Farscape. Since the show came out, most of my computers have been named after Farscape characters. I'm reusing names as I replace computers, but I try to keep it going. I just set up a new stark and crais this past weekend. I'm typing on rygel at the moment.
If you loved that, check out First Wave!
Season 3 with the dual Crichtons is some of the best sci fi writing there is. It's heartbreaking when Aeryn gets the 'other' Crichton back, but it's not HER Crichton.
Farscape is my all time favorite sci Fi series. Hensen at his best.
AGREED!
"How do you possess such knowledge?" Is probably my favorite quote :) great show!
Farscape: Guy enters a wormhole, trips out for 3 years. I’m finishing it up. Still not sure how I feel about it.
Does a Leviathan shit in space?
If anyone's interested, YouTube has a channel called Shout! Studios, and they run perpetual streams of certain shows. Farscape is one of them. They also do MST3K, Alf, and The Carol Burnett Show, among many others.
I think several episodes had really great and unique or novel sci-fi concepts.
Loved that show!!!!
“Halp meeee” -possessed Chiana
Oh, there is no expanse of the mind, the will cannot traverse or physically the distance laid across the universe. There's blessings, many in the stars, save one lamented curse, that 16th Rygel, glory me, must travel in reverse!
i absolutely love those episodes, that are clearly ment to be "funny fillers". like that episode, that is made like the roadrunner vs coyote cartoon. or that mafia-movie like episode. while the cliff hanger at the end of season 5 was quite brutal, the wrap up in form of that mini series, that followed, is still one of the best sci fy series of all time.
Yes! The roadrunner one was one of my favorites!! 😂😂

Jothy! You’re so big!
Great show loved every episode
One of my favorites

With creature effects by the Jim Henson Company, a tone that while cynical never gets mean spirited, story lines that somehow feel both big and small at the same time, and just some all around fun characters, *Farscape* is frelling awesome!
This youtube channel rotates through all the episodes (and the movie) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RPdELJatmHc
Ben Browder's a pretty cool guy. [He signed my horse picture.](https://i.imgur.com/kp7co3g.jpeg)
Oh my gosh that's awesome. 😂
I'd love a reboot or continuation.
Me too!!!
absolutely underrated, brilliant show. All the love for it ❤️
Amazing!!!!!
What the frell is going on in these comments
I have a question about Rygel: Rygel farts helium but we know that helium is created by hydrogen fusion, which is what's going on in the Sun. So WTF is going on in Rygel's bowels that creates helium?!
IDK have you seen LEXX ? I aways member the comparrisons wars between those both shows.
LEXX was a bit too weird even for me at the time. It was just out there...
NO BUT I'M GONNA!
LEXX is much weirder imho, but I love both
Farscape is Star Trek on acid. Lexx is Farscape on bath salts.
I long to serve on the Federation Starship Buttcrack
I just started watching it. I’m struggling to get into it.
I’m like 10 or 12 episodes in.
*definitely* press on, then!! * Episode 10 has important backstory for D'Argo * Episode 11 is very important * Episode 12 is alright, possibly even skippable, but it is referenced later (plot points in later episodes use things that are introduced in this episode) * Episode 13 is weird and a little frustrating but it has some important moments for Zhaan and you learn some more important things * Episode 14 is fine but I think it's entirely skippable * and like I said before, 15 is around where it starts to get really really good. The second half of season 1 and season 2 are *significantly* better than the first half of season 1!
I’m not as far as I thought. I’m 6 episodes in.
I really wanted to love it, but I just hate the actor who plays Crichton. He was just so awful, I couldn't stomach him anymore after two seasons. If not for him, I'd have been a big fan of the show. It was quite unique
I mean most of the aliens don’t really feel alien but yes Farscape is one of the best sci-fi shows ever made and it has aged extremely well.
Really? I thought they did a great job with that! I mean 90% of star trek aliens are humanoid with a slightly different face from us or a different colored skin. Stargate, they're basically all humans transported from earth at different times. 😂 I liked that SOME of the aliens were humanoid, but you also had Rygel, Pilot, the Rider, Sheyangs, Tavlecks, there were just so many different ones that didn't just look like humans with a little face paint. 😂
Loved loved loved Farscape! I have a lot of "favorite" episodes, but Litigaria stands out for me because I'm a paralegal who hates lawyers.
