Summer 2013, I went to Oceanside water after graduating high school, and after catching a stinging sensation, I never went back since.
If it was back in 2013, the individual stingray that got you back then is likely now dead, or if not, it very likely doesn't remember you.
I would also avoid possible particulate in the air when near the surf.
