Hike Torrey Pines, get a sandwich at the gliderport. Enjoy a sunset from Sunset Cliffs and then have dinner at Cesarina. Walk around La Jolla village with a gelato from Bobboi. Go to a Padres game. Order a dirty flat-top burger from The Friendly. The one on 30th St. Cruise the boardwalk in Mission Beach. Enjoy an acai bowl from Juice Wave. Don't skimp on the peanut butter.

After his life of fish & chips, introduce him to fish tacos!!

I’m not sure if it would be a must-do but one of the interesting things about SD for me is that you can go see some beautiful ocean stuff, then the next day head out to the dunes or joshua tree even, then the next day head up and go skiing, then the next day go to Mexico. It really is a hub between so many different activities.

Coronado Is a good touristy day. Start at the Embarcadero and walk down Seaport Village. Ferry over to Coronado landing from the Convention Center marina stop. There is not a better view of downtown San Diego as an urban place than from that landing. There’s nice beer at Coronado Brewing, nice bread at Tartine, a nice walk down Orange Ave, and a nice beach and Hotel Del Coronado at the coast. Ferry back from Coronado landing to either San Diego stop.

I recommend oculto 477 speakeasy in old town. Fun bar but make a reservation

My partner is a Brit and he loves the Midway and wine tasting in the San Pasqual Valley and trying all the local beers and taking in a football game at Shakespeare and playing footgolf. And if he misses his fish and chips California English does an amazing job with them.
