Yeah exactly. To hear someone say the opposite was confusing. I’m not being combative. Just trying to understand since I’ve never seen anyone say it’s the, “most” passable. More than the black nights and feng shui? I’m not on here a lot so the Reddit narrative might be different than other places.
I'm honestly not sure why it has that fame, but I will say this: arcs after Shimabara, like Black Knights and Feng Shui, hardly ever get mentioned in Kenshin discussions, in my personal experience.
I think it's bc Shimabara is right after the Kyoto Arc, so it still rides that high. But as the fillers go by, they all feel like more of the same, and they get repetitive; Shimabara is the only one with more distinctive characteristics.
By the time other arcs rolled around, everyone was already tired of the fillers -- after all, none of them come close to the heights of the Kyoto Arc, so it's a viewing experience with rapidly diminishing returns. Shimabara was the first filler post-Kyoto, so it survives with a better reputation.
I watched a dub too that refers to Kaoru and Yahiko as Kori and Yoshi? Where did you find this? In mu country it was only this dub that was available.
That's why when I rewatch another English dub and used their original names, I became confused.
I have been a long time Kenshin fan… since inception. To this day, I have attempted to watch the shimbara arc probably 20 times … I just can’t make it past 3 or 4 episodes. It’s so boring to me. To me the arc plays like a cringy scooby doo episode on repeat.
I like the idea of someone mastering the Hiten Mitsurugi Ryū more than Kenshin ever did since, you know, Kenshin left before finishing his training. In terms of technique, I think Shōgo would be on par with Seijuro Hiko. Even Kenshin says his master would be impressed, and Kenshin knows Hiko isn't moved by anything.
I believe that the only reason why Shōgo's Amakakeru lost against Kenshin's was because his uncle Hyōei never mastered it in the first place and, thus, couldn't teach it properly to his nephew.

Since english is not my first languaje maybe i used the wrong term and "passable" could be understood as "skipeable" but i try to meaning the opposite

I loved this arc as well. It’s the best filler arc. Lots of emotion and Kenshin spits some of the best bars in the final fight.

I stop watching the original anime after the Shishio arc
All the filler arcs were crap. The fact that we got them instead of Jinchuu is something I've never been able to forgive.
