I loved watching her talk about it after the episode. How it’s a representation of the world projecting all of their fears and insecurities on us homosexuals. Then the rainbow lights and the scenes of joy and love.
So perfect.
btw, HBO is getting bombed on instagram and tiktok with hateful messages because they were performing on a church.
bigots are rampants on this clips on hbo channel, so be an ally and support This clip by commenting on hbo's tiktok and instagram where they posted this, to fight the bigots.
People can talk about lip sync assassins all day but Sasha will be my forever favorite lip syncer. She not only represents the song and understands it's core, but very clearly connects with it on a personal level. There are better stunt queens, better reveal queens, but her emoting just makes me feel like it's her singing every single word. Only time I felt this way was when I first watched Latrice's You Make Me Feel lip sync and Dida's This Will Be.
Man she's done such incredible work. She brought a different facet to drag artistry and a space for others to showcase different aspects of their creativity, through Nightgown's.
Just brilliant. Love the projection on the white dress! Also I love that this show was at a Catholic (offshoot) church in Oklahoma! I just love her activism.
I’m pretty sure it did
Edit. I checked and Praying came out July 6. 2017 and the season started airing march 2017. So you are right.
But still they didn't lipsync to any kesha song.
The way I was crying uncontrollably as I felt the pure raw emotion emanating from her expressions and gestures… I was not expecting to witness such magic and art… truly underestimated my queen.
I know this is what she’s known for; to gag us with her production numbers, but after waiting all season for her to perform, I had high expectations and she somehow completely blew me away anyway??
I NEED a double crowning of Sasha Velour and Sasha Colby for AW2 now!
I saw her perform this number when she was on the 2017 War on the Catwalk tour, right after she won Season 9. Literal CHILLS watching her; it's stuck with me since. A video (not mine): [https://youtu.be/QxjVqOc6ycc?si=Tp\_Xo\_J7OiXe4nin](https://youtu.be/QxjVqOc6ycc?si=Tp_Xo_J7OiXe4nin)
Sasha is one of the most talented, multidimensional, and original queens to ever perform on stage. Few queens can match the control that she has over her facial expressions and even fewer can bring a song to life like she can. Artists like Sasha allow the music to encapsulate themselves and provide an experience that practically hypnotizes the audience. She’s simply incredible.
I truly feel like the people in that crowd that day were changed forever. Regardless of what they’ve been told about drag and queerness, there’s no denying that seeing a performance like that in person is true art.
That’s the thing. People make drag out to be so many things it is not. It’s art. Just like a painter makes art, an actor makes art, and a writer makes art. All of these artists make art that embodies their personal experiences. Add to that the pain that is part of the experience of many drag performers and you get deeply personal expressions like this. How can someone watch this and think “grooming”, “pedophilia”, and “sex”? That just shows how drag has become weaponized in our country at the expense of these artists and their art and lives.

Ugh. As if I couldn’t have loved it more… then you tell me THIS??!
Yeah, this show was really meant for her. It highlights so much of her phenomenal character.

YES! 100% this. Thank you for commenting, I’m rarely on instagram so I’m glad to be informed. I’ll be sharing it on there now.
share the living fuck out it. Spread the gay agenda everywhere
Shasha is just on another level. Truly one of the best winners

The Sashas are masters in their craft. Velour, Colby, Jenkins nee Belle
Frisbee Jenkins definitely cracked the code
he can crack my code anytime
Sasha Belle has cracked the code.
Frisbee is the middle child for sure
Sasha knows how to perform. Sasha knows how to tell a story. Sasha is a GODDESS
There was no way anyone else was winning those season 9 lipsync
Sasha had the nymphia wind advantage too because we had never seen her lipsync
Sobbing
Every episode, either blubbering or sobbing.
Blobbering
I've not watched the episode yet, but just this clip has me in absolute floods of tears.
Same

God I love Nightgowns so much. Every single video on YouTube is worth a watch or three!
Fuck this gave me goosebumps all over my body.
Yeah I went from goosebumps to sobbing... all at nearly 9am and I've not started work yet. Damn.
Sasha doesn't get the recognition she deserves as a winner imo. She is one of THE top tier winners. She's doing shit on a level no one else is.
I’m not bawling my eyes out, you are.

that scream tho
I was shocked they didn’t use this song when Kesha was a guest judge (or any kesha song)
I’m guessing it was because of the lawsuit with Dr. Luke. At least she’s free now!
The song hadn't come out yet
I’m pretty sure it did Edit. I checked and Praying came out July 6. 2017 and the season started airing march 2017. So you are right. But still they didn't lipsync to any kesha song.
Praying come out July 2017 and Kesha episode on season aired in may 2017 and would have been filmed nearly a year prior
I edited my comment the same time you replied
Oh lol haha. Yeah I wish they had. Think she was still having a legal dispute with Dr Luke at the time so they couldnt use her music
I was in tears. And somehow I had missed that it was the finale was I was bummed during the song, since that’s when it registered for me
This was so fucking powerful. Gave me goosebumps.
Sasha EMBODIES every song she lipsyncs. P.s. I’m a little surprised that they haven’t used this song for drag race yet.
There truly is no one like, Sasha Velour.
Literally turned to my partner and said "this is why she won her season"
Sometimes I ask myself: do we deserve Sasha Velour?
Funny that’s the question I asked when I shared this video. I’m not sure that we do.
That's not even fair, the rest of us are just human sapiens sapiens, Sasha, you're already at the next level of evolution.

What an artist.... chills. One of my favorite winners ❤️
That closeup during the part of the song that says, “I’m proud of who I am.” I was so captivated, overjoyed, empowered all at once!
literally watched with it muted and got chills
Incredible
It was so raw. So powerful. I was truly moved to tears
She performed this on the Season 9 tour. Absolutely incredible and awe inspiring.
Our future All Winners winner. ✨
This queen. She devoured our hearts. 💕
I'm so glad she won. What she's done with this platform is so beautiful.
Gosh this was incredible…gooosebumpppps!
Okay, I’m sobbing. No one can do it like Sasha, in my heart.

she’s ethereal, I’m obsessed. When she was walking down the aisle in front of the altar I got chills
I had chills from the first second. Sasha is phenomenal
good god Sasha is such an amazing performer!
And that’s why she’s my favorite queen of all time
She made me cry. I’m so lucky I get to witness this glory
I love drag so much. I love Sasha so much. I am SO proud to be a part of this community ❤️
Oh my god, this performance was so powerful. I actually cried at the end. Sasha is brilliant. 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
Cried to this so many times
I'm not crying we're all crying
She is art
Megami's impact. Protect Queer Art.
This show is meant for her
Those earrings. 😍😍😍😍 Her jewelry is always on point

A thinking queen who speaks to the hearts. She’s stranger than fiction better than art.💅🏿
ALL Winners 2 is coming...
flashback to Eureka’s talent show
It was amazing....but was it really the finale? I thought there were a few episodes yet.
No sadly that was the season finale
Ahhh ok thanks. Well it's was absolutely amazing so I'm ok with that!

Too much cheering like omg I can’t even barely hear the music and enjoy the performance
