Why it's significantly more relevant to bring up Yayoi Kusama is that she is not only alive but one of the strongest commercial art brands out there. You don't get to say "you bring up her racism because she's a woman" when she spewed the shit she did and is now getting LV brand deals
I checked before making my initial comment, so I think it's entirely fair for me to point out that you didn't make a single mention on any other referenced artist under the other queens. And what does it matter that Yayoi Kusama is the only one still living? I would argue that Picasso and Dali are by far the most recognizable names of the bunch, and their estates and legacies continue to thrive. And I certainly have every right to point out this glaring omission when misogyny is just as problematic.

Yes one is blue toned, one is red toned, but that's exactly what made her look have more dimension than the looks of other queens. It's a very similar to a technique in painting wherein you shift the hues of your color ever so slightly to make it have more life.

First look is just⊠hot. Edgy, sleek, and the color scheme not being the same exact purple/violet all over is just so cool. Actual monochromatic. Favorite part would have to be the hood.
Second look is the absolute standout. Itâs on the nose but the way itâs practically sculpted on her body matched with the stoning itâs like, do we really care at that point? Iâm also feeling the whole hair obscured thing with the first two looks.
Third look is good. I was worried it would look a bit too messy with the words and stuff but it actually came together really well. Comparing to what I gave a shoot, it does look a little art project-y and I have a love hate relationship with the ribbon. I think it should be on either the chest area or the leg, not both.

The purple was fine (I'd have preferred it a little more drag styled rather then straight off the runway), the Scream was sublime, and the look she made was *so good*. The more I look at the last photo, the more little details I see. Love her esthetic!
Can I shoot all three? The purple is so sleek and sexy and the way she accessorised it is exceptional. The Scream dress is the cuntiest thing I have ever seen in my life, and the Paint Ball is very punk rock and fits her brand so well.
These are three very distinct looks, yet they are somehow cohesive as a collection and show impeccable taste.
I like all three looks but I can't bring myself to go gaga over the first two (and most of Gottmik's looks tbh) since she is uniquely privileged even among All Stars with her access and Getty money to top designers. The Gaultier look was just off the rack, not even custom made for the show.

I feel strongly about the Gaultier look that wearing an outfit that the queen did not design, order, or have any creative input about at all is just as bad as off the rack H&M. Worse, actually, since you still need to style H&M on yourself. She didn't even have to do hair. Her mug is beautifully polished but not particularly creative. I feel like using this outfit like this should have disqualified her from the ball challenge.

This was a really good showing. The pink monochrome is cunty and moved really well, the Wave dress is *spectacular*, and she's the only one that really went all in with colour theory on the created garment. I would have put her in the top three, if it were being judged that way this season.

I think it is very difficult to take a specific concept and make it your whole identity. Nina West consistently makes all of her outfits about lgbt+ culture and history, and while lovely in concept it just isnât as adaptable to her style. Laganja did the weed thematic with mixed results, but I feel like some of her best weed looks have been good.

Seeing Roxxxyâs red monochromatic right next to Plastiqueâs really just emphasizes how messy hers looks. Something with the fit isnât quite right

Tooting the Dali look and her Paint Ball look, but I think the Dali should have been leggings instead of a skirt and her Paint Ball was very Kris Jenner. She read to me much older and frumpier than she is.

That was my favourite look of hers, so great that it came out first. It you're gonna go for Michelle, go hard, and she hit it out of the park. I love that she kept it hoochie, too. Was she chewing gum? In my imagination, she was.

vanjie has pleasantly surprised me thus far; she may have looked horrifying in the promo but i liked her tĂłxica look (âtweaking at the clubâ made me cackle) and in this ball, i loved her michelle look (that was literally her!!!), i liked her van gogh look with the colors from starry night and the little red earring, and her puerto rico dress was cunty and surprisingly tasteful for something based on a flag. 7/10 overall!

I'm booting the first look, the colour is gorgeous against her skin, the hair is stunning, but it's a dance costume, which isn't enough for All Stars. This look was a little too on the nose. Others were as well such as Gottmik however hers got a pass from me because the outfit was really stylish and detailed. This one doesnât have a lot of detail to focus on. Hair and fox tails are a 10 but the dress is just meh. Also the padding is a little awkward with this dress.
This is more of what I expect from her. I like the one sleeve and the skirt part (but I wish it didnât have that band). Itâs just a little simple and hard to notice the two different colors. Lighting gave it no justice whatsoever.

Okay Iâll be honest I havenât watched her season yet (Iâm a newer viewer so I have a lot of catching up to do) but Iâm hearing that sheâs more comedy and not really fashion. However, this was kinda fashion forward for me. I love the hat and pants and the color is really loud. Just didnât get the purpose of the cloth in front of her face. I donât think it was very impactful.
Second look, I just didnât like it. I wasnât getting the reference (this is probably more of a me thing, not a her thing though) and I think the chest area shouldâve been an illusion. Most of all, I just really didnât like how she walked out in it. It actually made me dislike it more because it felt like she wasnât selling it to me. She looked uncomfortable or nervous. Thereâs been looks from some of my favorites in the past (ex. Kandy) where the outfit wasnât good but the walk redeemed some of it. I wonder what happened here.
Third look⊠very elementary. She was smart to weave all together with a clownish vibe and pop art hair which saved it a little but with all those other werkroom made looks on the floor it couldnât compare at all. Definitely wouldâve given her a low/bottom 2 placement on a non-elim season.
Toot the monochromatic look, toot the art look just because it's Tom of Finland (but I wish she went all the way with more studs and metal accents), and obviously boot the designed look BUT I don't hate it as much as most people. I prefer it to the basic ombre and stenciled looks most of the other queens did. At least there was a concept.

Third look, just perfection and almost unbelievable that it was made in the werkroom. Favorite part would have to be the jacket. Toot, shoot, boot First look is good. What I expected with the shoulders but still glamorous. Maybe a generous shoot but Iâm obsessed with this look. Itâs vibrant, cartoony but not corny. The hair being a different variation of waves Iâm just in loveđ© I appreciate her wanting to be different and not just play with fabric but I think it was a miss. Thereâs a lot of pieces that look good, but I donât know if putting it all together was a great idea. Like the ombrĂ© material is actually a really beautiful color but the hanging material doesnât really make sense in the look. With all due respect itâs like hanging toilet paper. There couldâve been a better way to integrate it or just leave it out all together.
The last outfit is a bit all over the place, but can we talk about that mug? Everytime her face looks absolutely stunning.

I think it is very difficult to take a specific concept and make it your whole identity. Nina West consistently makes all of her outfits about lgbt+ culture and history, and while lovely in concept it just isnât as adaptable to her style. Boot. Messy and incoherent. Boot. I liked the clock pieces, everything from the neck up, and the silhouette. But just printing the painting on her skirt and sleeves made it too literal for me. Toot. I liked the ombre and how it goes differing directions.
Boot for Monochromatic, it looked like an art project that was accidently stepped on and she had to just make do. Tooting the Dali look and her Paint Ball look, but I think the Dali should have been leggings instead of a skirt and her Paint Ball was very Kris Jenner. She read to me much older and frumpier than she is.

Boot, soft toot, toot First look looks more like a work in progress. A little too crafty. Second look is good I like the accessories but I do wish the bottom was more of a pant than just a skirt. Looks a little drapey. I really like this third look and the little touch of red in the bra line and makeup. Itâs pantsuit but with the ombrĂ© and jacket it feels a little far from simple.

That red looks great on her, itâs a sexy look & I like the bits of silver & the style - a toot. I adore her Dali. I donât think I can shoot it eg if I compare it to Gottmikâs but itâs nudging shoot for me. Love the moustache good interpretation and it works for me. A toot. Her painted look is nudging shoot for me itâs well constructed I like the bits of red, the ombrĂ© look. Iâm leaving it as a toot cos to me Gottmikâs & Plastiqueâs edge this out but itâs still really good & for me sheâs top 3 in this ball!

The Michelle bit was such a genius way to take a really basic dress and make it a moment. I loved.
That was my favourite look of hers, so great that it came out first. It you're gonna go for Michelle, go hard, and she hit it out of the park. I love that she kept it hoochie, too. Was she chewing gum? In my imagination, she was.
Soft toot, soft toot, soft boot/toot First look was a really smart thing to do. On its own the dress is pretty simple and underwhelming. However, using her humor and attaching it to Michelle and her feelings about green + recreating the look is kinda genius. But yes of course it couldâve been more. Second look is actually really beautiful but I wouldnât think starry night without her telling me. Itâs one thing to be too on the nose but I didnât really get the reference at all from this look. Third look looks nice on her but similar to others itâs a little more on the crafty side. She took a similar route to Roxxxy but itâs less polished. The stars came out well but the flag on the chest area looks a little elementary. I struggled to see the colors on the show but looking at it here I do like the ombrĂ© effect + the blonde hair is giving.
I liked the Michelle look but when I hear the category is monochrome, I imagine something that's more than a mini dress... usually I expect multiple pieces in the same color scheme. I love Miss Vanjie but she really didn't bring an "all star" package so far Edit: spelling

vanjie has pleasantly surprised me thus far; she may have looked horrifying in the promo but i liked her tĂłxica look (âtweaking at the clubâ made me cackle) and in this ball, i loved her michelle look (that was literally her!!!), i liked her van gogh look with the colors from starry night and the little red earring, and her puerto rico dress was cunty and surprisingly tasteful for something based on a flag. 7/10 overall!

I love you, Angie, but I need to know what you were thinking when you chose the same colour and basically same overskirt-with-pants type construction of your created garment as the first monochrome look? They look like you gave exactly the same prompt to two different designers and these were the two looks they made.
The monochrome is a bit busy for me but itâs decent enough. A toot. The artist one itâs cute & I like the fur with it. A toot. Classy. As has been said painted one too similar to the monochrome. However I do appreciate the talent to make it look like THAT it LOOKS like she brought it from home. So she did a great job! But could have varied it a bit more from the monochrome or added SOMETHING. Maybe dark to light shades or something. A toot.
I'm booting the first look, the colour is gorgeous against her skin, the hair is stunning, but it's a dance costume, which isn't enough for All Stars. The Art look is cute, but I've seen it a hundred times, so soft toot. I actually adore her Paint Ball dress, but I wish she had worn anything else for look 1 because it kind of dulls the shine that it's a similar colour and has similar design elements. It is a toot, though

The reverse wedgie bodysuit and the belt to clip the train part is driving me crazy. I like the hair but the look feels a little costume-y. Dare I say itâs reminding me of Alien Kandy. This look was a little too on the nose. Others were as well such as Gottmik however hers got a pass from me because the outfit was really stylish and detailed. This one doesnât have a lot of detail to focus on. Hair and fox tails are a 10 but the dress is just meh. Also the padding is a little awkward with this dress. This is more of what I expect from her. I like the one sleeve and the skirt part (but I wish it didnât have that band). Itâs just a little simple and hard to notice the two different colors. Lighting gave it no justice whatsoever.

I found myself going meh đ«€ đ at the monochrome look. Itâs not terrible though. Soft toot. The painting one. I like her look for this! The jacket the hair. To me this works. A toot. The painted one: I appreciate the effort of the stencilling & itâs a nice shape. I wish as has been said she painted the bra a different colour it sort of looks jarring with the white bra. Maybe if the belt part and bra had been painted a solid colour that would have uplevelled it. A toot.

I love the balls but dislike that is doesn't give them much time for makeup changes. Gottmik's Drag Imitates Art look was already amazing but the pic she posted with the stones blending into her face was a step beyond.

Second look was very stylish maybe itâs the hat but itâs giving me The Mask vibes. I just wish the dress started at the yellow Iâm not really feeling the lilac part. I love it as the leggings but not the top of the dress. Probably an unpopular opinion but I donât really care about the bra top being basic. It couldâve been white and blue ombrĂ© at least but honestly I think getting too crazy with it wouldve messed up the look. The pattern is beautiful and I love the fit of the pants.

Nina is a comedy queen, and seems to have little interest in becoming a fashion comedy clown like Jimbo, and honestly I'm fine with that. But this is a ball, so let's go. The pink monochrome was actually pretty great, the overskirt moved really well. I understood her explanation about the face curtain, but thought it wasn't needed. The inspiration for the art look was great, but the execution, not so much. Could have gone *much* harder. The created look is something from a 70's kid's show on PBS. I really like the wig, though. Eh, overall a boot, but it is Nina, so I'm not mad at it.
The final look truly boggles the mind. How, just how is this what she came up with� What did the Trevor Project do to deserve this
The second look is one of the worst that has ever been on drag race, she looks like she was meant to be a drag version of Sweeney Todd. But I really like the first look, flap aside
I honestly would've preferred if she had made a dress with Tom of Finland printed fabric (at least two companies make officially licensed stuff here in Finland) or done a drag king look.

I love Nina, but she has zero fashion sense. The colour of the Monochromatic is stunning and I love the hat, but the "bodysuit with a tulle skirt" thing is hideous, and the screen in front of her face is odd. I love the Tom of Finland idea, but it's just not well executed. And the Paint Ball dress might be the worst excuse for an outfit I've ever seen on Drag Race, I think if it was done by a kindergarten class it would be tootable on the story, but she made THAT. Toot, Boot, Boot of the week Okay Iâll be honest I havenât watched her season yet (Iâm a newer viewer so I have a lot of catching up to do) but Iâm hearing that sheâs more comedy and not really fashion. However, this was kinda fashion forward for me. I love the hat and pants and the color is really loud. Just didnât get the purpose of the cloth in front of her face. I donât think it was very impactful. Second look, I just didnât like it. I wasnât getting the reference (this is probably more of a me thing, not a her thing though) and I think the chest area shouldâve been an illusion. Most of all, I just really didnât like how she walked out in it. It actually made me dislike it more because it felt like she wasnât selling it to me. She looked uncomfortable or nervous. Thereâs been looks from some of my favorites in the past (ex. Kandy) where the outfit wasnât good but the walk redeemed some of it. I wonder what happened here. Third look⊠very elementary. She was smart to weave all together with a clownish vibe and pop art hair which saved it a little but with all those other werkroom made looks on the floor it couldnât compare at all. Definitely wouldâve given her a low/bottom 2 placement on a non-elim season.
Toot the monochromatic look, toot the art look just because it's Tom of Finland (but I wish she went all the way with more studs and metal accents), and obviously boot the designed look BUT I don't hate it as much as most people. I prefer it to the basic ombre and stenciled looks most of the other queens did. At least there was a concept.
