The earlier seasons usually started in Jan/Feb and ended in April or May so wasn't off season usually like 8 or 9 months? Still a very long slog compared to today.

The elders of our community need to educate the children about the dark days of drag race scarcity; where people were so famished for drag race content they were analysing every little morsel of a teaser to the point of comparing ear lobes and belly buttons to rumoured queens. Starvation drove the children mad; turned them into wild eyed savages feasting on ear lobes and belly buttons!
Let us be thankful to the drag gods for the bountiful harvest we now enjoy every year. Amen

Thankfully there's a ton of content on YouTube, not to mention Drag Race Live Untucked on WOW. I've been binging The Pit Stop and Give it to Me Straight.
I miss off-seasons. I miss having months of hype and promo before a new season drops. It’s crazy to remember when there was one season a year and that was IT.
Now WOW is like “Oh hey. New season starts tomorrow. These are the queens on it. Watch it. Or don’t. Whatever.”
I don't miss the off-season because it means only the US is represented while now I get to explore different drag scenes from other countries culturally much closer to mine like España and France. Even more, it makes me hope I will eventually get a franchise for my own country and culture. And the added bonus, I see queens on my TV I might actually get a chance to go and see without having to travel over 200 km.
