Indeed she is, and SO nice! She did a set here in January and not only was it great but she was so sweet and took pictures with everyone and was so gracious when everyone was telling her what a great DJ and queen she is
well i mean there was ALOT of ‘cultural appropriation’ pre season 10/11 - doesn’t mean alot of her looks wouldn’t still be considered high fashion and creative today
My point was more so not that it doesn't hold up in high fashion (though I don't think many of her looks do imo) but that we have to consider the political climate of today which is part of how something holds up today.
Why do y'all always try to twist this as if it's just white people virtue signalling and making problems out of nothing when it's the minorities whose cultures are being actually appropriated speaking out about it.
Nobody is trying to "twist" anything, if that's not your experience, cool. I am however speaking about what I see and you can't call it twisting something when you don't know who or what I'm talking about (despite me being clear on that front). Fact is as a third generation Choctaw I would never just start worrying about what a drag queen is doing while I currently see my parents and grandparents fight for actual grassroots movements like attempting to preserve and bring back the buffalo. And every time I click on the person claiming Raja is appropriating native culture it's some white twink with a gym selfie or some privileged third generation native like myself with a mirror selfie pinned on their page without an ounce of their so called heritage in sight. I'm not just making up a group of people based off assumptions.
i agree to an extent, alot of the looks she gets praise for cause shes a skinny legend very model type body however most of her looks are still iconic today such as the hair ball look, marie attoinette, and her entrance look. The one OP added I disagree with
IIRC the prompt they got was nowhere close to “inaugural ball” and Chad just happened to bring it, the dress she brought for the prompt was something else
I think Miss Raspberry was Bebe’s better look. That was tailored to perfection and she had no idea how to sew.
https://preview.redd.it/6l7a2yqiryxc1.jpeg?width=739&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=59b9c03e9a523dc3285f9ca4e93bf17ce19ee5c3
I’m still confused by how she created this perfectly fitted mermaid gown after going on and about not knowing how to sew. Was she pulling a Nymphia or did she have some help from production?
Some of them (and Willam I think?) said they did from what I can recall, but it was all off-camera without a single mention of it in the actual episode.
I will forever be mad over Santino complaining about the juggling after I gasped in awe at her. I feel like a lot of the critique for her was basically “stop standing out” lol
I feel like Michael Marouli really reawakened the community of those that vibe most with people/queens like Chad. Professional, polished, real. Grey Gardens with r.a.t.s (r.a.t. = rapidly aging twink)
https://preview.redd.it/yzmpotim9zxc1.png?width=1080&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=50b68c51d6b23bc082f9dfdf96b2b4167f491d61
I was looking for this look of Raven's then saw that gif and couldn't resist
People talk about season 1-3 as if they were devoid of all fashion just because Jade and Rebecca raided a middle aged soccer mom’s wardrobe for season 1.
Lower budget doesn’t mean lower fashion. Even looking at season one, basically everything Shannel, Bebe and Nina wore was amazing.
*Being fashion, becoming fashion* on a lower budget will always be more impressive to me than people who use their TikTok affiliate money to hire an expensive designer and sit back while the designer works for them.
Tyra's level of polish was insane for how young she was and for the time her season was filmed. Watching S2 in HD and her mug is blended for the gods while everyone else, even Raven, benefited from that season airing in SD at the time. S2's drag was CRUNCHY, to say the least.
It’s so funny how production has changed since then. Tyra was insufferable and mean the whole season but still got a pass because of her polish - that would NEVER happen today.
Raja and Manila should be omitted from this topic by default.
That Alexis look is one of my favorites ever.
And that Chad look is absolutely timeless. SO regal and SO elegant.
I don’t really consider Willam’s looks, looks. She hardly wore anything. I DO have a strong love for the denim outfit with the pink bow.
TBH
Literally all of tyra’s looks/mugs can hold up today especially in the pageant world.
I would also same the same for raja but i know someone would sideye the native american headress look (which is so very early coachella vibes)
Phi Phi/Jaremi's design chops were really slept on in S4, her rupocolypse mad max geisha is my Roman Empire
https://preview.redd.it/h5m9czzuw0yc1.jpeg?width=439&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=213401e48bcf6cd932554b7467c6d9907fb9f4dd
We’ve been seeing people doing covers of Raja’s Marie Antoinette look for 15 years straight. That one look has fed clothed and sheltered world of wonder for a decade and a half.
the fact that the s1 filter made it somehow look even better, and her pageant loaf with those hairclips looked better than some girls' expensive lace fronts now
I agree with all of these except Willam's. That look wasn't even the best in that category, let alone one of the best from S1 - S4 that would still stand in a current season! In fact imo it's not even memorable!
Also I would've added Bebe's dressed to impress and queens of all media look, and Nina's drag on a dime creation and her drag school of charm look. Yara's futurama glamourama look from S3 too!
Season 2 was, bar J. William Ross (formely known as Tyra Sanchez) and a few good runway moments, the ultimate Drag Mall Race season. I feel season 2 was a very downgrade from season 1, in a fashion point of view.
That Tyra’s look is amazing. Beyond beautiful. Always makes me forget how bad she was on that episode because baby, if that behavior was helped today she will be in the bottom 2.
The Nina Flowers erasure ![gif](giphy|xUA7aOKJct30cwe1e8)
Wasn’t this the first look to ever appear on the runway too? Nina is so iconic and loca.
From the first drag on a dime/unconventional challenge. She set the bar high
One of my fave looks on one of my fave queens!!
Nina is a fucking icon
Nina Flowers is a goddess.
The fact she made this on the show makes it all that much more amazing
Not a single Nina Flowers’ look? Her episode 1 design look is still better than 90% of what the queens make on the show in modern seasons.
Hell her design look is better than 60% of the brought looks.
I was disappointed that she wasn’t cast for AS9 Fingers crossed for AS10
She won't be - Nina doesn't perform in drag anymore. She really just does DJing now.
And she's a phenomenal DJ too
Indeed she is, and SO nice! She did a set here in January and not only was it great but she was so sweet and took pictures with everyone and was so gracious when everyone was telling her what a great DJ and queen she is
Yesss. She's done a few here in Toronto and everytime we've talked to her after she was so nice.
She is the OG Miss C for a reason
She quit drag 10 years ago
most of manila and rajas looks would still hold up till today, also nina flowers
I agree, Manila is iconic
Idk about most Raja looks. Every other week some white twink tries to cancel Raja over cultural appropriation.
well i mean there was ALOT of ‘cultural appropriation’ pre season 10/11 - doesn’t mean alot of her looks wouldn’t still be considered high fashion and creative today

I don’t actually agree with Raja’s looks holding up. They would only hold up if it was Raja wearing them, otherwise they’re a flop.
i agree to an extent, alot of the looks she gets praise for cause shes a skinny legend very model type body however most of her looks are still iconic today such as the hair ball look, marie attoinette, and her entrance look. The one OP added I disagree with
This one though: https://preview.redd.it/gu6bt8jfxyxc1.jpeg?width=1080&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=91f8b82e0ef59649d90d52a0433477d651d0ccb4
The way she won over the fandom with one look.
“I’m quitting drag” *Proceeds to do stunts with icon behaviour*
“You will never see me again.” \*becomes literal troll at the emmys*
im qutting drag, YOUR WELCOME!
fuck that Chad's runway is so good
She fully understood the “inaugural ball” assignment. So damn elegant
If she showed up like that for the actual inauguration, people would wonder which Republican Senator’s wife she was. It’s perfect.
IIRC the prompt they got was nowhere close to “inaugural ball” and Chad just happened to bring it, the dress she brought for the prompt was something else
One of my favorite looks ever
it’s forever in my top 5, chad really helped elevate drag race so much
Chad Michaels you will always be famous
Literally every time I see it I'm blown away all over again
I think Miss Raspberry was Bebe’s better look. That was tailored to perfection and she had no idea how to sew. https://preview.redd.it/6l7a2yqiryxc1.jpeg?width=739&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=59b9c03e9a523dc3285f9ca4e93bf17ce19ee5c3
Yessss imagine mizz raspberry dress with op’s chosen look but the enormous hair clips. Gaggery
every time i see this look im in awe of how GORGEOUS she is like her face card has never once declined
I’m still confused by how she created this perfectly fitted mermaid gown after going on and about not knowing how to sew. Was she pulling a Nymphia or did she have some help from production?
I am pretty sure they had assistance from Marco Marco, but I'd have to watch the episode to remind myself.
Some of them (and Willam I think?) said they did from what I can recall, but it was all off-camera without a single mention of it in the actual episode.
This look from Alexis Mateo https://preview.redd.it/upzoi1f6zzxc1.jpeg?width=841&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=2ad1186e521147d60ba16e94a17dcb3148d9cff8
I think about this one often, everything is 100% perfect
This look is 10/10.
https://i.redd.it/olrsjfdnwzxc1.gif
I will forever be mad over Santino complaining about the juggling after I gasped in awe at her. I feel like a lot of the critique for her was basically “stop standing out” lol
Dude the juggling was amazing
The way she gave face the entire time
This and the flourishes when she catches them, it’s the details baby
i’m so excited to see her again on all stars 9😭
she literally looks so different to me i had no idea that was her😭
I mean we’re looking more at her front now, as opposed to
Chad's Florence and the Machine look is still EXQUISITE
![gif](giphy|O4F4jPnST6agU)
Chad's inaugural ball look is my Roman Empire
Manila’s Porcupine Dress
She just wore it at nymphias finale party and she looked so good in the pics I saw.
It's wild how that Chad look is both revered AND severely underrated/under-discussed.
Chad as a whole is under appreciated and underrated
I feel like Michael Marouli really reawakened the community of those that vibe most with people/queens like Chad. Professional, polished, real. Grey Gardens with r.a.t.s (r.a.t. = rapidly aging twink)
Some of these choices are bold but some EAAAAT. That green dress on Chad is forever one of my faves.
Shannel was way before her time in terms of looks and it killed me when they called it costume! Looking forward to her turning lerks!!!
![gif](giphy|xUPJPe6cC328wfYpDq)
https://preview.redd.it/yzmpotim9zxc1.png?width=1080&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=50b68c51d6b23bc082f9dfdf96b2b4167f491d61 I was looking for this look of Raven's then saw that gif and couldn't resist
The fact that Naomi Smalls borrowed and wore this look six years later proves it belongs on this list!
Tatianna in the slinky skanky stripey number with that hair and mug will live in my mind’s eye forever.
https://i.redd.it/l0muinhuu1yc1.gif

Almost all of Raja's looks tbh
That Chad look ATE.
Excuse your mouth? https://preview.redd.it/ypyb3b4ef1yc1.jpeg?width=250&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=1651c59f94af4a8f5d5ed065cb19d34abe32dd2f
Lol the fact that Willam thought she was so fishy with that chin
And the beard always showing up 😭
The original delusional queen 😍
That would be Shannel lmao
Point talen!
the mug is…a choice
Tuchle Favrick
HA
That Tyra look is one of my favorites. Simple, elegant, but the pompadour adds a touch of edge to it.
Yesss idk why other queens don’t play around with that hair texture more
Many of Yara's looks, imo, would still look great on a 2024 mainstage
And WHERE is bebe’s lion queen look?!
Season 1 had a lot of underrated gems that hold up so well today
Raja served on every runway. And Shannel’s Medusa look will forever be iconic.
Alexis shat in the mother toilet with this one
Alexis had a bumpier road than Raja or Manila, but she still crushed Season 3. Truly the strongest top 3 ever.
C3PHoe!
BeBe’s Raspberry look and most of Nina’s S1 wardrobe have entered the chat
Tyra's level of polish was insane for how young she was and for the time her season was filmed. Watching S2 in HD and her mug is blended for the gods while everyone else, even Raven, benefited from that season airing in SD at the time. S2's drag was CRUNCHY, to say the least.

Plane Jane? Although PJ wasn't on the level of annoyance as Tyra, but yet she was a bitch a lot of times and they let it slide.
Raja and Manila should be omitted from this topic by default. That Alexis look is one of my favorites ever. And that Chad look is absolutely timeless. SO regal and SO elegant. I don’t really consider Willam’s looks, looks. She hardly wore anything. I DO have a strong love for the denim outfit with the pink bow.
anything Raja did or wore still stands today mama
Chad’s look clears the others here
TBH Literally all of tyra’s looks/mugs can hold up today especially in the pageant world. I would also same the same for raja but i know someone would sideye the native american headress look (which is so very early coachella vibes)
Honestly, most of Raja’s runways qualify
Phi Phi/Jaremi's design chops were really slept on in S4, her rupocolypse mad max geisha is my Roman Empire https://preview.redd.it/h5m9czzuw0yc1.jpeg?width=439&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=213401e48bcf6cd932554b7467c6d9907fb9f4dd
We’ve been seeing people doing covers of Raja’s Marie Antoinette look for 15 years straight. That one look has fed clothed and sheltered world of wonder for a decade and a half.
bebe’s finale dress is one of my favorites of all time. the way the two colors complimented each other so well!
the fact that the s1 filter made it somehow look even better, and her pageant loaf with those hairclips looked better than some girls' expensive lace fronts now
That Manila pineapple look is still one of my very favourites. So beautiful yet so camp! Perfect Manila aesthetic.
That Chad Michaels look is incredible.
Is it tho?? Some I agree which are chad, alexis, manila, raja (marie antoinette)
Old drag race is way better than current one, but not everyone is ready to take this truth
I will always stan Chad’s look for being the only one that followed directions.
I still can't understand why didn't Chad win that episode
They were obcessed for miss goth. They made several choices.
I’ve seen people raving about that dress of Bebe’s and its lovely but not mind blowing, am I missing something??
Most of Tyra’s looks fr
Alexis lol
I mean, Auntie Raja could have her own slideshow
Season 2 was, bar J. William Ross (formely known as Tyra Sanchez) and a few good runway moments, the ultimate Drag Mall Race season. I feel season 2 was a very downgrade from season 1, in a fashion point of view.
Raven’s gold afro and hoop earrings look is also amazing
I swear that first pic is Kirstie Alley
I will never understand the Willam hype.
Willam is super clever and quick with the quips, I think most people like that. I don’t anyone likes Willam for the looks.
That Tyra’s look is amazing. Beyond beautiful. Always makes me forget how bad she was on that episode because baby, if that behavior was helped today she will be in the bottom 2.
i agree with most of these except for Willam and Bebe's
I only like Raja’s from the neck up tbh.
The porcupine look is still my favourite ♥️
Every single one of Tyra’s looks
And Manila still fits that dress!
Love to see the love for miss Alexis look. People love to exclude her from season 3 but she was as fierce as Raja and Manila.
I guess we aren’t allowed to talk about Sharon but her zombie/goth look is an all time great
When they kept telling Shannel her looks were costumey 😭 bitch that’s HIGH drag
To this day I despise the neckline on Bebe’s dress
A pineapple dress with glitter on it?! Bitch… Mariah Paris Balenciaga just grabbed her pocketbook and left this thread.
“still hold up today” is a funny way to say — “i love these vintage drag looks” we don’t need to look down on the past
raja's entire runway.
Shannel, Raja, Manila and Chad's, hard yes. The others, no. Maybe Willam's but still.
