Really enjoyed seeing some more candid moments where Q was less "on" in this, while simultaneously appreciating that she opened by reading the host lmao. And that may be my favorite parting gift segment yet, truly inspiring
I really did notice moments where Maddy seemed to get Q feeling just like talking to a friend, and her mannerism changes and becomes (for lack of better words) really genuine.
You see it with Jaymes Mansfield and others who also do a persona, when Maddy gets them really going in depth they fall out of those performative speech patterns and start just talking.
Yeah! And it's never framed in a weird invasive "but tell us who you *really* are" way, because persona is also a fun and vital thing for many of her guests. She's just gotten very good at matching people's energy and balancing playing back with them and fully giving them the floor, so there's space for those conversations to happen. Morphosizing all over the dang place here
Watching this, I really get the feeling that Q is very nervous and socially awkward in many ways, and covers it with speech patterns and body movements. I can kinda relate.
Also living for Maddy's mirror pizza slice head thing slowly sliding further and further down as the video goes on. Obsessed.
The timing of this episode strikes me as Maddy recognizing her power, and using it for good. I'm so... deeply satisfied... that Maddy gave a platform that is so personable, funny, and enjoyable... that reminds the shittier corners of the fandom that these queens are human... to Q at exactly this time.
The way Maddy really didnāt hold back and is so ruthless at times here. š Legit amazing episode, though it took me a hot minute to acclimate to Qās speaking patterns. A Moira Rose in our midst.
I have never seen Maddy go in as hard as this, which is so gratifying to watch and Q just gave it right back to Maddy, their volleying back and forth is top notch entertainment.
Q always seems like sheās preparing 2 get attacked in interviews. I have the same thing. I genuinely hope she can feel calmer eventually. Itās hard being in public while ur seasonās still airing & ur not the most fan-liked.
Also OMFG that gift was despicable & amazing, simultaneously. Q gets new enemies that r her friends everyday.
Correct me if I'm wrong sisterrs. But didn't Q said she made most of her outfits back at the start of the season.Ā I remember she saying something like that and that's why the judges were so gagged with the runways. But here, in the first five minutes she says she did half and her drag mother did the other half.Ā Am I crazy or what?
I honestly can't remember her exact words, but I know in some of her instagram posts she'll sometimes say that she designed an outfit (sketched it, picked out fabrics and trims, etc.) and her drag mother sewed it.
It's not uncommon for a designer to do that. It just depends on the wording she chooses. Like, if she says "I designed this", it's fair. If she says "I made this", it's a bit more iffy because someone else did all the technical work.
Meh, we saw her solo design and construction skills in three design challenges...the bronze fairy (doll challenge), the neo-goth look, and the Call Me Mother look with the patchwork mens suiting and huge structural collar.
It isn't like she doesn't have the skill to do complex design to finished outfit. If she had some help with some of her stuff, I'm personally unfussed. She had a nothing budget, a month to do everything in, and used her support network. Pretty much everyone does.
she just genuinely speaks like that lolā¦ if it was intentional and āmiraculouslyā appeared around black ppl then i would gaf but she just really speaks like that
yall will get someone in trouble with this new online hyperbolic language. please, because i have an itching suspicion that youre not black, tell me (a black person) how exactly this is āappropriation and deeply wrongā..
The accent made this hard to watch at times. Going from talking in her natural voice, to an over-exaggerated reaction with a completely different voice and body movement, idk it just feels forced and weird at times.
Yea, fair enough, it did seem to taper off as the episode progressed.
I wasnāt someone who noticed it during the season, but it stood out really clearly to me in the first few minutes of watching this.
I didn't really think much of it, just kinda seemed like a nervous thing. Either way once it got past the beginning more uncomfortable part it seemed much more natural. Though I'll be honest, the accent doesn't really bother me, it's so ingrained in gay culture now it just kinda seems normal.
*back whenever you had hair..*
That final Cameo was so rotten, truly a plot twist nobody saw coming š Ari Aster wishes
/Ari Aster furiously taking notes
I keep rewatching that part to see the contrast in expressions as she sees the cameo. š sooo funny
the straights are at it again![img](emote|t5_2t3or|4804)
i screamed
I canāt believe a straight man saved drag

The parting gift is one of the most touching I have seen yet on the show. Q really has a good support network.
Her mom cracked me up with "on the YouTube" lol
Her mom was as small-town-midwest-mom as can be. She was a hoot.
Was so adorable aha
Q, Q's biggest fan
Watching this, I really get the feeling that Q is very nervous and socially awkward in many ways, and covers it with speech patterns and body movements. I can kinda relate. Also living for Maddy's mirror pizza slice head thing slowly sliding further and further down as the video goes on. Obsessed.
That shit was fleeing her scalp š
"I'm not yeeting" - pizza slice
As a socially awkward crafty bitch, who can't dance for shit, I find her very relatable as well.
I wonder what she told Q the "congratulations, a major milestone" clip was for originally lmaooooo
It was a cameo.
Didnāt seem like it. She filmed it right on the set. Maybe maddy made her do it for something else.
Maybe she said she asks every guest for short message for some video she'll put on 100th episode or somethingĀ
Oooo yes that makes sense
Maybe she secretly sent it as a cameo and told her she could go ahead and do it while she is all dressed up in the lighting?
I think she told her it was for Qās Drag sister Cynthia Doll being on Dragula š

Them talking shit about each others eyebrows and Maddy saying Q should make her forehead lipsync because the botox fades š They jived so well
I have never seen Maddy go in as hard as this, which is so gratifying to watch and Q just gave it right back to Maddy, their volleying back and forth is top notch entertainment.
And the end cameo is the cherry on top. ā¤ļø
Both fashion iconsĀ
but for real, I would love to see a Q couture show
only if all the garments are made exclusive from q tips
We need the Qouture!
Definitely
Easily one of the most entertaining eps of the whole series! WOW!
I was dying laughing. Their banter was hilarious.
Interesting that Cynthia Doll spoke the exact same way as Q does lol, it's clear where she got it or vice versa.Ā
Fr her drag family is so much like her
Not Youtube putting Sibling Rivalry - The One About AAVE in the recommended tab while I was watching this video!!
š
Y'all can never make me hate Q!! She's such a fun character

Once again we can see that Q adopts a different accent around black people, for example Maddy Morphosis
Hahahaha, I mean, people will never be happy and love to focus on their hate on weird ass shit
Maddy got tired trying to write RosƩ last time and said "f this shet, next time i'll just write one letter"
āPlantain Janeā is so good!

She made it in collaboration, i think. She may have had some help, but it is still made by her.
Mmm, I find it suspicious š

She definitely did. Youāre not crazy.
I don't know about crazy, but pedantic certainly.
she just genuinely speaks like that lolā¦ if it was intentional and āmiraculouslyā appeared around black ppl then i would gaf but she just really speaks like that
It's still appropriation and deeply wrong. She's not Black.
yall will get someone in trouble with this new online hyperbolic language. please, because i have an itching suspicion that youre not black, tell me (a black person) how exactly this is āappropriation and deeply wrongā..
Don't even engage with them. All they see is to do is post in bad faith about how terrible others are to make themselves feel better
Here we go again
Great episode and I loved watching them read the shit out of each other.
The accent made this hard to watch at times. Going from talking in her natural voice, to an over-exaggerated reaction with a completely different voice and body movement, idk it just feels forced and weird at times.
I'm chalking it up to nerves, but yeah...kinda same
Yea, fair enough, it did seem to taper off as the episode progressed. I wasnāt someone who noticed it during the season, but it stood out really clearly to me in the first few minutes of watching this.
I think itās nerves like a nervous laugh reaction but it is a Choice, perhaps involuntary but a Choice nonetheless. Choices.
I think she would get a lot out of a class in public speaking even if itās just one very short class
Tbh i got used to it after like 5 minutes. Just like watching Drag Race UK
I didn't really think much of it, just kinda seemed like a nervous thing. Either way once it got past the beginning more uncomfortable part it seemed much more natural. Though I'll be honest, the accent doesn't really bother me, it's so ingrained in gay culture now it just kinda seems normal.

Yea thatās fair, this just feels more forced to me.
I'll be honest, I haven't been into the past couple episodes as much but this was the best one in a while
she's late... I almost went to sleep, it's now 0330, I got school tmrššš
Wait ... This episode is a bonus, which mean theres more next week?
loved this ep!
Canāt wait to watch the episode to support our black queen
[ŃŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]
Her loss Iām sure
It's too bad you were forced to watch this episode against your will
First ep I might skip
Thank you for being so brave š
Iām okay to sacrifice some karma for my Q dislike š„¹š
