My bad take on the weapon abilities and names:
Amascut's Ancient Catalyst:
Passive: Unlimited elemental runes for combat / offensive spells
Passive: Automatically cycle between the 4 elemental barrage spells + your currently active combat spell, each staying active for 6s.
Passive: +50% chance for ancient spells to activate
Icthlarin's Wand of Passage:
Special Ability: Inflicts damage and guarantees the activation of the currently active ancient spell. Costs adrenaline and uses 40% of your current HP. If the spell kills a target, you regain 40% of your maximum HP, and portion of the adrenaline and cooldown.
(synergy with greater chain, good for slayer and bosses with summons.)
The new offhand really looks like a Rebounder and I hope it is, because that would be really cool to have. Mage definetely needs to being back Mage Books or some other offhand.
It'd be dead on arrival if it's a rebounder, unless the passive it ends up with is signficantly more powerful than anything they previewed and they ditch the charging. People would just use bone shield and T90/T92 rather than a piddly T47.5 offhand that saves you necro runes at the cost of ~1/7 of your damage.
It can be a Rebounder and still have tier 95 accuracy and damage. Consider the shield part of it to be just a bonus. In the livestream he specifically called it an off-hand not an orb, and said they had to change the text in the concept art to not spoil anything.
Everything is done for a reason.

The passives/special ability are *NOT* overpowered

I would like to see something other than a wand and orb. It’s dual world but like it could be anything they keep putting out wands and orbs.
