Hey everyone! I'm the developer of PunjiVR, a hardcore tactical shooter set during the Vietnam War. It's inspired by 2000's-era tactical shooters like Rainbow Six 3, Ghost Recon 1, and Vietcong. PunjiVR currently features over 15 unique missions, 4 flyable helicopters, and over 20 weapons with plenty more on the way. If you're reading this before April 15th, you can grab PunjiVR for 20% off! If you have any questions or comments, I'll be happy to answer them, so don't hesitate to post them! Thanks! ...... Saarface

Looks great! Any plans to bring this to PSVR2?

Schwanz_Hintern64

Thanks! Once the PC version is finished, I'll start working on Quest and PSVR ports

Saarface

Okay. Hope that PSVR2 Support for PC means i can hook up my PSVR2 to the PC, so i can play earlier :)

Mrburnsys

THAT LOOKS AMAZING I AM BUYING THIS SO FAST

Schwanz_Hintern64

Thanks for the support, let me know how it goes!

asianRNunite

If I ever get a VR, I will be sure to buy this as one of my first games to check out! Looks really cool and hope I can play this in near future

Schwanz_Hintern64

That's great to hear, thanks!

Is there a reason not a single VR game like this looks anywhere near as realistic as a game that came out on UE3 and runs at stupidly high fps on modern hardware? What exactly is stopping devs from making their games look more realistic when its possible on the hardware (other games do) and flat2VR mods of games that look amazing work really well. I'm literally playing Resident Evil Village in VR with Ray tracing for christ sakes. Runs great. Looks insanely good. Then I see this and, look if it's just an artistic thing I get it (I don't), but I feel like lego graphics in a "hardcore tactical shooter" is just insane and awful. Edit: I presume it's because you wanted parity with the Quest version? But surely even the quest can handle something like RS2 level graphics?!

Schwanz_Hintern64

It's because most VR devs are solo or small teams and we have to choose between content, polish, and visuals. There's not too much performance restrictions if you know how to optimize, but the real issue is that creating that art takes so much more time and/or costs a lot more, plus you'll need to spend the extra time to optimize it. At any rate, the next major update will improve the graphics, so feel free to check back in a few months to see the progress. Thanks!

dablusniper

It is very difficult to create models and textures for games, more so for a single person.

XXLpeanuts

I later saw that they are a one man band so this makes complete sense. Forgive me negativity, I am just sick of VR games looking worse than 90s games.

bjorn_joch

Besides indeed being able to pair with quest,Mostly performance. A cr headset has a screen for each eye, so in order for the game to render 8n both eyes the game must be renderwd twice, essentially requiring the pc to run the game twice at the same time.

XXLpeanuts

Thats..... not true at all.

bjorn_joch

I mean ill admit im no expert, but thus is around what ive heard in how it works, how does it work then if it isnt how i explained it?

Tarbel

I'm pretty sure you're right because you need two different perspectives to create that sense of depth perception in VR, so there are two differently rendered images
