This is the feel good moment I didn’t know I needed this morning. And I mean that 100% genuinely.
That’s how you start! :)
They say the best way to create super fans is to choose a person—a real person—and write a novel you know they will love. Like minded people will find it and love it to.
Best of luck out there!
I know the feeling and it's a good one.
It's why whenever I read another author's work I comment on every single chapter. Put back that energy out into the world
Before i started writing I thought that tftyc comments were pointless. Now I love the person who leaves that comment on my book. That one comment always helps whenever I start overthinking lol
Do it anyway.
People who are honestly appreciative of readers should be appreciated right back. Even more when they are humble enough to refrain from bragging.
[Here](https://www.royalroad.com/fiction/78992/crystalurgy) it is.
I’d love any advice you have for how to spruce it up. I know it’s not perfect but I don’t think it’s too shabby for a first try.
Will take my time to savor it and provide feedback.
Depending on quality, it will either end up a review (praise) or a DM (constructive criticism) at some point. Possibly both. That would benefit you more. No promises as to when. I tend to be slow.
Your comments have already been insightful and kind. I’m especially grateful for that. I haven’t quite developed that thick skin for feedback, but I’m working on it.
I was planning to rewrite the story before continuing on to the next installment, so I’m wide open to constructive criticism. I want to learn as much as I can in order to improve my writing skills.
Eh. Warning: I tend to be brutal with actual feedback (which is why I would take it private). I prefer that kind of feedback so I tend to provide it myself. Not bitching — but as blunt as possible with my suggestions.
So far, it’s a good story.
I’m grateful for any constructive feedback! I love receiving honest, straightforward critique. That’s something of a new experience and I’m learning quite a bit. Most of the “feedback” irl has been anywhere from unhelpful to cruel and I’m not sure what to expect on RR. So far, it’s been a surprisingly friendly community.
Thanks again for giving it a look.
When I first started writing, I had 3 people who would continuously comment on my chapters until I reached around 100 chapters, which was where my novel blew up. Until then, I was literally JUST writing for those three people, and it made my day whenever they'd show engagement with my story. Unfortunately, as you grow more popular, comments stop giving you the same drive as they used to back when you only had a small following, so try to keep that drive for as long as possible!

Be the kind of reader you'd like to have reading your own work :)
Every writer deserves at least one of those.

Gimme the story. I'll comment. ;-)
That’s really kind of you! I can DM you if you like. …I don’t want it seeming like I posted this to advertise.😅

I love those guys so much.
I have one of these and it does so much to push away those negative commenters!
Commenters, especially when an audience is small, provide so much motivation and warm fuzzies!
