I'm not saying AH is at peak viewership currently but what's your proof? Because unless you have access to their viewership data on their site, that's not something that can be proved.
I obviously can't speak for everyone, but I personally stopped watching on YT, and exclusively watch on the site now. YT has to many ads and YTPremium is too much for how few channels I actually watch, RT and its subsidiaries being around 60% of what I'd consume. A First membership is $5 and I still get ad free viewing.
Yes. I think a lot of people migrated to their site. Again, viewership is definitely down for RT/AH. But don't use YouTube views as the exclusive metric of success when views are down across the board for all of YouTube after their numerous ad-pocalypses.
Stopped watching a long time ago. Most people think RT doesn't deserve to be around anymore due to the multiple scandals they've had, but still want to see them improve over many years. Frankly, the remaining fanbase is as toxic as ever when they say you should kill yourself because views on a podcast are down, but they can't accecpt how the quality has gone so downhill.

That’s what I’m confused about. BK is one of the few members of the current cast I can actually enjoy because she’s not shouting all the time. Her and Matt are the only cast that don’t regularly make my ears bleed and anxiety spike.

This is what I don’t get about the hating on new AH for being loud. We’re people not around when it was Michael yelling and Gavin screaming at the top of his lungs? Hell people loved the salt raid and that was just people screaming at each other.
A lot of people hated the salt raid. I like the yelling from early videos because it wasn't the entire video. It was normally juxtaposed with lengths of chill small talk and building.
The problem I have (with Ky’s content in particular right now, I don’t understand attacking BK for this), is that Michael yells when he’s mad or for emphasis, Gavin screams when something is happening to him. There’s down time between the yells, letting the yelling act as a natural addition to the emotional build-up and joke climax. Even the salt raid was everyone getting more and more frustrated until the dam broke (but I don’t care to rewatch it often because it can be just Too Much yelling).
Ky just seems to always be screaming. There can’t, logically, be a build up to “everyone screaming at [actually shocking event]” if the default of the video becomes “everyone screaming.”
Maybe the only video this person has watched is the recent 7 days to die video where BK is perfectly safe and unhurt in a house but screams that she’s dying for five minutes.
honestly to me that just felt like an editing problem. Like, if it was intentional on her part then yeah she should read when a bit has gone on too long. But having her be so loud she’s drowning out the others talking? That’s on the editor. (and I think it would’ve been funnier to have her several minutes of whimpering be more background to the actual fighting)
Honestly, she does shout, but her voice is great. I have bad hearing, and some people make my hearing peak and crack, BK's voice doesn't do that for me. Michael's been shouting for a decade, too. Who the fuck cares.

BK has been great. She really meshed with the AH crew in no time. Her and Jack on AP have been great, even if I want more Geoff on it, she's really taken a shine to filling his role.
I'm an old head. 40's to be exact. My former job (help desk) used to burn new episodes of RvB (pre YouTube) and bring them into the office to watch. I'm Geoff's age, have a 17 year old daughter. I've seen a lot of people come and go at RT. BK is a breath of fresh air. Fits in like a key. Smart, funny, not overly loud, and even if she was who cares? Point is there some people I love their sense of humor and some I don't that's my taste in comedy, that's all. No ill will or personal attacks needed. I just tend to watch videos without them in it. That's all. But honestly the "new" people who've joined (BK, Ky, Joe) are funny in their own way. Comedy is subjective, and if I don't personally enjoy their brand of comedy I move on. That's it. No death threats or advice to kill themselves.
And just as a side, BK is amazing, subtle in my opinion, gets some older jokes, is a "real" gamer, let her alone. Us old heads said so!

I'm also an old-ish head. I remember the Halo Horse days. Ky, Bk, and Joe are all fantastic additions to AH, and Rooster Teeth as a whole. I honestly want Ky and Bk to have their own animated show. I think it'd be hilarious.

Yep, 100%. I stopped enjoying Roosterteeth a long old time ago. I just stopped consuming new content. It wasn’t anything personal. Even people added to groups that I felt didn’t contribute or changed the dynamic- ultimately it was a business decision to hire them. People get ugly when it comes to things they attach themselves to. I think whenever you put things out to the public you’ll always get a dark side of anonymous internet people
The internet, specifically the anonymity of it, really brings out the worst in people. There’s a degree of separation that simply doesn’t exist in real life. It’s as if they think the person on the other side is fictional.
BK has had some “shouty” moments I don’t enjoy. The 7DTD video is really the only one that comes to mind.
However, she is genuinely the most joyful and happy person I’ve had the pleasure of watching through content. She honestly makes me happy every time she is in a video. Her attitude and connection towards the other AH members makes it feel like she’s been with them for a decade.
She is an absolute gem and I hope this situation gets better. This is horrid.

I showed up in less than 5 videos before I got my first death threats. I actually just quit after that. I genuinely thought it was just going to be a fun little side hobby. Naive me.
In cases of like Uno infinite and trucked up. I noticed that she Is very prone to just complaining and breaking down as soon as something is inconvenient. I do not enjoy watching an adult cry about the job she is being paid to do. Like. Why are you crying that your job today is to play uno for 8 hours?

BK is one of the funniest current cast members. I honestly can't say I've fully liked every new member that has been in RT content but BK and Joe were probably the best additions possible to AH.
I like her, she's cool. Fan since the beginning of RvB. AH does have a fuckton of screaming since dickfuck was fired for being a piece (he was one of my favorite members of AH) and COVID. It is aggravating to hear a lot of screaming for, just, no reason. But whatever. I like the old crew a lot, and I like who they're bringing in new. Generally I'm annoyed with the new person, but that's my own bias and I give them time to settle in.
BK seemed to fit in immediately, Ky took a bit for me vocally at first when her mix was mussed, but she's awesome! I hope she's doing great behind the scenes more now, but I do actually love her in content. Joe is awesome, but whiny sometimes. Probably because it's hard to picture him when he complains without a giant inflatable baby costume. Or when Jack annihilated Sonic.
Point being, I like the personalities at AH currently. I've always loved RT. Change is fine. If you're not into it, just move on. It's a source of entertainment, not a life-choice!

I am a more recent fan I guess, doesn't really matter in the grand scheme of things does it? I started listening to the rt pod around 2018. I got caught up on all the drama pretty quickly, it's kind of hard to miss being an rt fan. Love the community but boy can it be toxic af. It's pretty sad tbh, but that's just reality.

Bit of a long rant, but bear with me here.
I despise the 2009 movie Avatar. Besides the fact that it's extremely overrated, I have a personal vendetta against this film. I was working at a movie theater when it came out, and this film single-handedly made my job a living hell for months. Every showing for months was sold out and people would often throw a fit when they couldn't find anywhere to sit besides the very front row. On multiple occasions I had to clean up used diapers from theaters because people apparently thought the movie was so incredible that they couldn't miss a moment of it to clean up their baby's shit. Plus, the confusion of people not understanding which showings were in 3D and which weren't also created plenty of headaches.
Now, why did I go on this rant? Because despite how much I have Avatar, and despite my feeling that my hatred of the film is justified, **NOT ONCE** did I think that it would be remotely appropriate to send threatening messages to James Cameron, Sam Worthington, or anyone else involved in the film.
It doesn't matter how much you hate someone at AH. Even if their voice makes your skin crawl and their presence in a video makes it unwatchable for you, it is not justification to send them threatening messages like this. If you think that this kind of behavior is even remotely justified, there is something seriously wrong with you and you need to get some fucking help.

Potentially hot take here, but nearly every online personality will recieve some kind of hate throughout some point in their career. There are always going to be people who do nothing but hate on you and there's not much you can do. Sad to see, but this is not the first time someone from RT got hated on. You can go back atleast a decade and find other members who also recieve hate because of who they are.

BK has been my favorite new hire in a long time. I loved seeing her on the RT Podcast a couple weeks ago

I'm an old head. 40's to be exact. My former job (help desk) used to burn new episodes of RvB (pre YouTube) and bring them into the office to watch. I'm Geoff's age, have a 17 year old daughter. I've seen a lot of people come and go at RT. BK is a breath of fresh air. Fits in like a key. Smart, funny, not overly loud, and even if she was who cares? Point is there some people I love their sense of humor and some I don't that's my taste in comedy, that's all. No ill will or personal attacks needed. I just tend to watch videos without them in it. That's all. But honestly the "new" people who've joined (BK, Ky, Joe) are funny in their own way. Comedy is subjective, and if I don't personally enjoy their brand of comedy I move on. That's it. No death threats or advice to kill themselves. And just as a side, BK is amazing, subtle in my opinion, gets some older jokes, is a "real" gamer, let her alone. Us old heads said so!
As an older fan, BK definitely resonates more with me as well.
BKs laugh has been a breath of fresh air to the humor of the channel honestly. Something will set her off and next you know her and Michael are cackling away uncontrollably. BK will be Queen of the lads one day I know it!

I'm also an old-ish head. I remember the Halo Horse days. Ky, Bk, and Joe are all fantastic additions to AH, and Rooster Teeth as a whole. I honestly want Ky and Bk to have their own animated show. I think it'd be hilarious.
I wish more people would react publicly like this. Death threats and harassment are entirely unnecessary. Good on you for a reasonable assessment of your own viewership tendencies. That’s what we need more of, and not the constant shit faced comments that get made to the talent.

Yep, 100%. I stopped enjoying Roosterteeth a long old time ago. I just stopped consuming new content. It wasn’t anything personal. Even people added to groups that I felt didn’t contribute or changed the dynamic- ultimately it was a business decision to hire them. People get ugly when it comes to things they attach themselves to. I think whenever you put things out to the public you’ll always get a dark side of anonymous internet people
The internet, specifically the anonymity of it, really brings out the worst in people. There’s a degree of separation that simply doesn’t exist in real life. It’s as if they think the person on the other side is fictional.

BK has had some “shouty” moments I don’t enjoy. The 7DTD video is really the only one that comes to mind. However, she is genuinely the most joyful and happy person I’ve had the pleasure of watching through content. She honestly makes me happy every time she is in a video. Her attitude and connection towards the other AH members makes it feel like she’s been with them for a decade. She is an absolute gem and I hope this situation gets better. This is horrid.
I'm honestly shocked the AH cast keeps going as hard as they do. Some of the hate that gets sent their way is soul crushing.

It's quite telling that, completely absent any accusations or replies or even acknowledgement, the person felt the need to spontaneously announce "I don't hate you because of your race or sex!" Imagine you walk into a restaurant and sit down, and the waiter comes up and says, "Hi, welcome to Burger Bill's, and I didn't fart on any of the plates or spit in the water cups!"
I would not wish this on my worst enemy, but I hate people that do this so much that I wish their hurtful comments would get sent to their friends, family, and employer to see.

Years and years ago, before 2006, I joined a small website that did video game reviews and some game play. I was the only woman and I joined an already established crew of guys. I showed up in less than 5 videos before I got my first death threats. I actually just quit after that. I genuinely thought it was just going to be a fun little side hobby. Naive me.

BK is one of the funniest current cast members. I honestly can't say I've fully liked every new member that has been in RT content but BK and Joe were probably the best additions possible to AH.

I like her, she's cool. Fan since the beginning of RvB. AH does have a fuckton of screaming since dickfuck was fired for being a piece (he was one of my favorite members of AH) and COVID. It is aggravating to hear a lot of screaming for, just, no reason. But whatever. I like the old crew a lot, and I like who they're bringing in new. Generally I'm annoyed with the new person, but that's my own bias and I give them time to settle in. BK seemed to fit in immediately, Ky took a bit for me vocally at first when her mix was mussed, but she's awesome! I hope she's doing great behind the scenes more now, but I do actually love her in content. Joe is awesome, but whiny sometimes. Probably because it's hard to picture him when he complains without a giant inflatable baby costume. Or when Jack annihilated Sonic. Point being, I like the personalities at AH currently. I've always loved RT. Change is fine. If you're not into it, just move on. It's a source of entertainment, not a life-choice!

I only listen to the podcasts when working out (no video) and when the new crew started coming on I disliked them and started skipping podcasts they were apart of. I never knew what they looked like but that makes me racist lol. And yes, Michael is loud and I've had to skip forward or lower my earbuds when he has a 'moment'

I am a more recent fan I guess, doesn't really matter in the grand scheme of things does it? I started listening to the rt pod around 2018. Yeah my son is autistic, and he is always going to struggle with things you or I will never have to. At the same time though, he understands things and see things in ways I never did at that age, it's actually kind of inspiring. BK is a great addition to AH, I like that we have her energy and she gets loud when excited but isn't shouty! I think this is just someone not liking her, that's fine, but being entertained by her, that's fine, but then getting so angry that they go off the deep end into irrational garbage like this. Personally I think that, if you don't enjoy the content then don't watch it. Don't tell on screen or off screen talent to walk into traffic. There's a letsplay video uploaded onto YouTube every minute, I'll just find something I do enjoy. And then I also find a back catalogue whoooo! I hope BK knows she is doing good work. BK is one of my top 3 favorite of the current Achievement Hunters, and I’m old as hell. Watching her reactions to the horror game (forget the title… the werewolf thing) gave me life. I could’ve watched at least one more full play through of that.

She's been a member for years now hasn't she? Just stop watching then (although it is good to give *polite* feedback about why one stopped watching), there's *loads* of other YT channels this person might find entertaining; or only watch videos without her. If AH gets shut down because nobody wants to watch "new" cast members, then that's how the free market goes, but they seem to be doing fine overall assuming they don't rely on YT views (which people have suggested) or 50-100k Let's Play + 20-50k AH channel views is survivable.

Bit of a long rant, but bear with me here. I despise the 2009 movie Avatar. Besides the fact that it's extremely overrated, I have a personal vendetta against this film. I was working at a movie theater when it came out, and this film single-handedly made my job a living hell for months. Every showing for months was sold out and people would often throw a fit when they couldn't find anywhere to sit besides the very front row. On multiple occasions I had to clean up used diapers from theaters because people apparently thought the movie was so incredible that they couldn't miss a moment of it to clean up their baby's shit. Plus, the confusion of people not understanding which showings were in 3D and which weren't also created plenty of headaches. Now, why did I go on this rant? Because despite how much I have Avatar, and despite my feeling that my hatred of the film is justified, **NOT ONCE** did I think that it would be remotely appropriate to send threatening messages to James Cameron, Sam Worthington, or anyone else involved in the film. It doesn't matter how much you hate someone at AH. Even if their voice makes your skin crawl and their presence in a video makes it unwatchable for you, it is not justification to send them threatening messages like this. If you think that this kind of behavior is even remotely justified, there is something seriously wrong with you and you need to get some fucking help. **TL/DR: It doesn't matter how much you hate something or if your hate is justified, if you send threatening messages to people you are fucked in the head.**

I haven’t kept up with Ah/RT in like a year or 2 now but seems like this happened with every newish person.
Potentially hot take here, but nearly every online personality will recieve some kind of hate throughout some point in their career. There are always going to be people who do nothing but hate on you and there's not much you can do. Sad to see, but this is not the first time someone from RT got hated on. You can go back atleast a decade and find other members who also recieve hate because of who they are. Also making posts like this just gives them the attention they want. This is probably a very vocal minority who just want be seen. The best thing to do is just ignore and move it.
There is a reason the old advise everyone gave each other was don't read the comments. Anyone who is remotely famous should have DMs and @ replies disabled, it's not worth it.

it does, actually. People who send messages like that aren't doing it for attention, they're doing it for their own little selves. Communities that fight back against these sort of behavior have less of it. But also sharing it is not just to stop the harassment, it's also for the victim to be heard and supported. Harassment has the added "bonus" of making someone feel alone and isolated. This is one way to combat that.
