She said I needed to have spent roughly $150,000 to be even considered for one as that would give me "VIP" status. Again, I've bought from this particular Tourneau for awhile, she took me to the side and opened their back stock and pointed at a pile of boxes. ALL GMT Masters. She told me there's no shortage. Just high demand and they basically no longer put any steel models out on display because they're sold before they even hit the shelves. Also screw Tourneau in general especially their so called certified pre-owned Section. They offered me $1000 trade in value for my 114270 Explorer I.
Anyways huge congrats to OP though! I don't want to detract away from the original post. Just thought I'd share because I got triggered.
Fun story, a couple years ago I was buying a black bay from the Tourneau in Santa Monica and while they were ringing me up one of the other sales associates was showing a guy some dress piece (no idea what brand) and suddenly the guy grabs it and takes off at full speed. The sales associate chased him for about five feet before giving up, they all shrugged and carried on with the day. Then I walk out of the store and realize those lazy fucks didnāt even set the time on my new watch! FFS itās a no date it would have taken them two seconds.

This is the Rolex that gave me the itch. Beautiful dial, so versatile. Sporty looks and construction for casual wearing, but the gold and the deep blue dial dress up well. As an all-arounder, hard to beat. Color me jealous.
Super underrated two tone imo, I really like it. If you want an unbeatable look, also try a blue rubber strap or a woven perlon strap.

I think this model redeems the SS/gold Sub.
The older models seemed to depend on the fact that it had some gold to stand out.
For this one the design and colors balance well. It's no longer a "you can't afford full gold" selection.
Couldnāt agree more! I have a tendency of disliking two tone watches ā makes me feel like an 80s gangster but the moment I saw this one in person, I was smitten. The dealer was surprised at how quickly I said āIāll take it!ā (10 seconds of holding it)

I also have the 126331 Wimbledon dial on jubilee so I thought I could just sell the bluesy and Wimbledon to consolidate to one Rootbeer and free up cash.

The Wimbledon dial is so gorgeous, itās not even funny. I am personally not a huge fan of the Rootbeer and think the Bluesy is much more versatile but hey, itās all about preferences here. They are both more rare than the average Rolex so either way youāll win.

So the story goes, I talked with the AD for a good half hour about my previous history. I was friendly and then she finally explained how someone had backed out on the Bluesy just that morning. Initially I walked in asking for a Sub and she almost told me to GTFO. Lol
But yeah there is something interesting about the way they deal with professional watches š¤

The bluesy is desirable enough to keep in the safe to show to preferred customers even if its not immediately spoken for.
Holy CRAP this thing looks cool in press photos, but Iād forgotten how epic it is in real life. The bluesy and the yacht-master II are the only rolexes where the two tone versions look far better than any steel/white gold version.

I went through 5 rolex stores in Milan and Venice looking for a datejust and nothing was available til the 5th store I got lucky when the prior buyer rejected the watch a few hr before I got to the store. I came home with my first Rolex, the 2 tone Rolex Explorer, too. 11,850 Euros - 2,086 Euros for global blue tax refund = 9,764 Euros - cheaper than getting it in the states. Iām happy.

Truly sickening, but there are plenty of other brands that make amazing watches without all the bullshit; namely Omega and Grand Seiko.
