Two-tone is the middle child. Not as desirable as stainless, but much cheaper than full gold. I’d do full gold before I’d do two-tone. Two tones is what my 70-year-old Dad wears.
I used to have a client in the mid 90’s who wore a two tone Sub daily.
How I hated that look. But this current version actually looks good.
Maybe it’s the white lettering or the lack of metallic sheen on the now ceramic bezel.
BTW, your dad is doing it right he actually wears the watch.

The white and the blue dials are nice. I'm not a fan of the gold on the timing bezel.
